Neon landed on the ground with a thud. He wasn't sure exactly where he was, or how he got there, he jut knew something was off. After a quick survey of his sorroundings, Neon's first impression was confirmed. He was by a strange mountain range that looked as if it had a face carved into it; not so far from how pumpkins are carved on Halloween. It really wasn't anything to feel too weirdes out by, but it just exuded a feeling of mystery. As Neon stood up and got his bearings, a detached voice came booming in from somewhere.

"Welcome, Neon. The caves are right before you. Are you and your Pokémon ready to accept the challenge?"

Neon looked around, but there was nobody. Things were starting to get weird. He didn't realize he had brought his pokemon along, but after a quick glance at his belt, the voice's comment was proven true. He had four of his pokeballs sitting on his belt. Neon shrugged and decided he might as well try and listen to the voice, it could be helpful after all. He decided to head towards the entrance to the caves.

Neon entered the cave, quickly becoming sorrounded by the darkness. Neon was about to pull out a match, but the walls suddenly bursted with light. After Neon's eyes adjusted, he saw the lit torches lining the walls of the cave. Something was up, but Neon didn't particularly care. He just kept walking until he was stopped by some invisible wall. Then, the same voice voice resonated from out of the walls.

"THOU HAST STEPPEDETH INTO THE CAVE! YOUR FIRST CHALLENGE APPROACHES! KILL IT KILL IT!"

Neon looked around and took notice of a shadow approaching. It was a massive shadow that stretched along the cave floor. Neon prepared himself for a giant fight, but was disappointed when his opponent finally showed itself. It was a tiny Cleffa. Neon knew not to take the little guy lightly, but he couldn't help but let out a sigh; he had wanted a tough starting fight to get him into the mood for battling.

Neon reached to his belt and released one of his partners. This one was his devilish Scrafty. He was always a handful, but his versatility more than made up for any negative personality. He had easily proven himself time and time again. His dark thug-like bravado took form in front of Neon. Neon smiled at him when he appeared, which was returned by a scowl. Neon motioned towards behind him and Scrafty's eyes immediately locked with his tiny opponent. Cleffa gave him a sassy sashe to taunt him. Scrafty was unimpressed.

"Hey, Scrafty, let's teach this little guy a lesson. Start out with a dragon dance, and then deliver a powerful drain punch," offered Neon.

Scrafty began dancing an ancient and powerful dance. Cleffa wasn't sure why it was dancing, so the Cleffa decided to just watch and enjoy the entertainment. Too bad this dance would ultimately spell doom for the little creature. As Scrafty quick finished his dance, he took one step at the tiny pink ball of happiness and released a powerful haymaker. The little Cleffa didn't like being punched, so it ran away.

"Nice work, Scrafty. Let's see what else you can down the road," praised Neon.

Scrafty accepted the compliments and then started to take off down the eastern passage way.

"Wait, Scrafty, where are you going? You don't get to decide this!" yelled Neon, quickly taking out his map and scribbling down some directions while picking up the straw that the Cleffa had dropped. Neon then started running after Scrafty.

Neon ran down the cavern, trying to catch up to his little fighter. He was going to scold him for running off, however the sight he came up was a tad peculiar. In the dark depths of this small and confining cave paths, there was a tiny bird flapping its wings at Scrafty. Now, Neon just had to stop and think about this for a second. Why was there a bird living inside a cave? There were no trees or materials to build a nest out of. It would have to sleep on the ground, which is completely unproductive. It had no forms of vegetation nearby, and it had no space to fly around. Neon decided that this was a very weird cricumstance.

Back to focusing on Scrafty, Neon realized that he would have to scold Scrafty later, and take out this new threat now. He went over behind Scrafty, and made sure his presence was known. Scrafty fell back into position and waited orders.

"Scrafty, go ahead and use thunderpunch and then an ice punch right after," ordered Neon.
