As you dash through the gates granting passage into the Botanic Gardens, there is almost a frenzied feeling to the air as other Trainers decide upon which path to take and whether or not it is wise to wait on the others to run ahead while they wait for the dust to settle instead. You and Froslass decide upon the latter, waiting patiently until everyone walks out of sight.

To test out the waters, you decide upon the main path. While there are signs of Pokemon having been in the area, none have appeared yet to greet you. It is only after some searching about that you finally stumble upon a Grotle, the Grass-type lazily gnawing on leaves from a nearby bush

Ryan Hoare arrived at the gate to the Botanic Gardens in the Royal National Park slightly late, he’d rung ahead and told them he’d be pushing it to make the start of the contest. By the time Ryan met up with his ranger, most of the other trainers were moving well into the lush, green grass.

Ryan barely nodded to his ranger as he headed off down the main path, his ranger right behind him waving a clipboard yelling, “Stop, you need to sign the liability waiver before we can continue.”

As Ryan came to a halt, spinning around and pulling out his pen, he heard a noise behind him and decided to spin a full three hundred and sixty degrees. There, in the middle of the path was a Grotle.

Ryan quickly evaluated its worth in the capture competition and figured that something that he had to type advantage on should be an easy knock out and the capturing the Grotle could well be more effort that it was worth.

Ryan quickly pulled a pokeball out of his right pocket and released Frossy, his beloved Froslass, the champion of his gym, and apple of his eye. The Froslass floated serenely above the ground as Ryan ordered a quick Ice Beam attack.

Frossy responded almost instantly, sucking in a large breathe before exhaling quickly. It looked a bit a like a dragon breathing fire, except without the fire and without the dragon. To be honest it, looked like a snow white ghost breathing extremely cold air that snap froze the water vapour in front of it. Probably because the latter was what was actually happening.

The cone of cold air rushed towards the Grotle, freezing any water it contacted along its way, Ryan doubted the Grotle would be able to move far enough in time to dodge this attack.

BP1 (Vs. Grotle)

OOC: Makina's character description is located in the Archive under the name “Akinai Ranger”. I'm mobile, so can't give an exact link to the sign-up other than that. Also, Grotle's gender?

Frossy launches a formidable Ice Beam at the unsuspecting Grotle, causing the Grass-type to be knocked back drop the leaf it had been munching on. As it whirls about to face its aggressor, the turtlelike Pokemon notices the serene-looking Froslass and snorts in annoyance, obviously angry to have its meal disturbed. In retaliation, it shoots off a Razor Leaf attack at Frossy, the leaves slicing through the ghostlike Pokemon's form.

OOC: should they both be 100%? And make Grotle male

As the Pokémon fired moves at each other, Ryan turned once again to fill out the indemnity forms that his ranger was pushing on him. He also took a chance to appraise the ranger.

She was slightly shorter than him, with bright silver hair. Her face, whilst rather pretty, was wrinkled up in consternation at what the ranger had obviously done. Ryan quickly scrawled his name at the end of the sheet of paper he was given, he’d been through the park on several occasions before and had even had Makina on a previous trip.

Turning back to the battle, Ryan ordered his Pokémon to use blizzard, hopping to successfully knock the Grotle out and get out of there in a hurry.

The fierce cold that was forming around the Ice/Ghost Pokémon left Ryan and Makina shivering slightly. It started to snow in a confined area just in front of the Froslass as a small twister built up. The twister started to wave and weave around, moving inexorably toward the Grotle.

BP2 (Vs. Grotle)

OOC: ...I have no idea why they said 100%, it was correct on the PC edited. Also, keep in mind that posts for the event still follow normal Park guidelines (500 minimum for NBP, 1k for BP), and length/quality determine the power of the attack.

As you turn around to sign the release papers, Frossy begins to whip up a Blizzard to quickly wrap this battle up. Grotle notices the large storm brewing around him though, and barely manages to avoid a small part of the icy barrage. The Blizzard has seriously weakened the turtle-like creature though, and he is only able to spit out a weak Energy Ball at the Froslass.

Still shivering from the cold, Grotle decides to help warm up the area and abolish the freezing air that Blizzard has summoned. As he lets out a loud roar, the area begins to brighten up significantly.
