    Ranger Mecha Pidgey

You are quickly ushered through a huge bunch of excited trainers as you make your way through Botanic Gardens, hoping to either capture a Pokemon that you have been wanting to get in the Botanic Gardens, or capture an especially rare Pokemon so that you can get high points to trade off for a better prize.

As you and Arcanine make your way into the usually hot and humid Botanic Gardens, you notice, to your dismay, that it is pouring heavily instead! Since you have entered with only the sponsored items in your bag, you have no choice but to continue your adventure without an umbrella.

The Pidgey mecha that was accompanying you made a loud squawking voice and advised you on the available routes. You see an available route on the right that resembled a forest, except that it was full of flowers instead of trees. On the left, was a graveled pathway flanked by flowers and trees on the sides. Which route shall you traverse?

"Oh no..." Jessie groaned as she followed the robotic bird that would be guiding her through the park today. She thankfully brought her cardigan, for whatever reason, and was now wearing it with her beanie to protect herself from the pouring rain. "This sucks," she moaned again. Arcanine was Jessie's only Pokémon that she was allowed to bring into the park during this prestigious event, and his Fire attacks would be extremely hampered during these ensuing battles.

This was Jessie's first time entering the Botanic Gardens, and, though she was technically with a guide, entering without an actual ranger would be difficult. Jessie would be making all the decisions, and she wouldn't have anybody to guide her differently besides a robot. Perhaps she would be more comfortable with the idea if it was a place Jessie had been before, but she was very lost and confused in these massive gardens.

The Robotic Pidgey chirped loudly to get Jessie's attention. Jessie looked up at the bird, who was residing on a branch of a tall tree. The tree seemed as if it made a fork in the path, which allowed for trainers and Pokémon alike to go to two entirely different places of the Gardens. To the left was a paved pathway, which almost immediately turned Jessie away, but the large and beautiful flowers and trees growing off the side of the path made it seem like a nice place for a mild walk though the Park. However, on the right of the tree was a massive forest. At least, it looked like a massive forest. Jessie realized that the tall plants that she first thought were trees were actually gigantic flowers.

Pidgey squawked once more, explaining the pros and cons of each path that Jessie might take. The one on the left seemed to be for more mild trainers, ones looking to just have a good time while going through the park, while the path on the right was more geared towards the experienced trainer. Jessie was unsure, for she felt that she had enough battling experience to enter the Flower Forest but didn't have nearly enough experience within the park.

Jessie then remembered the weather situation. Walking along the paved path wouldn't help with the raining situation because there were few obstructions overhead, but the looming pedals of the flowers were practically like umbrellas, soaking up the rain and protecting those underneath the leaves. Arcanine would appreciate this buffer greatly, as his abilities were almost halved while fighting in the rain.

"I guess we're taking this one," Jessie said to the Pidgey, pointing towards the path with the Flower Forest. "Lead the way," she said and began walking through the lush forest.

"Bzzt... OK! WAT A BOSS! ... bzzt"

You decide to take the route into the Flower Forest filled with large growing sprouts of blossoms. The canopies proved to be an effective shelter from the rain, turning the heavy downpour to a light rain, but much more managable.

Just as you walked in, you immediately encountered a bird Pokemon similar to Pidgey. This Pokemon was a Taillow however. Your Ranger, the Mecha Pidgey, started squawking loudly in a very annoying mechanical voice towards the Taillow, as if to demonstrate its superiority. Will you attempt to capture this Taillow, or run away from it?

Jessie shivered as she took off her beanie that was previously resting on her head. The massive pedals didn't stop the rain entirely, but the canopy hampered the rain into something much softer. A gentle breeze and light rain actually felt soothing. She had read up on the Botanic Gardens while at the Dock, waiting for her ranger to show up, and saw that the weather was extremely humid. Though the rain was cold, the temperature was not.

She followed the Mechanical Pidgey that flew up above for about 13 seconds before she heard a vicious squawk. Jessie was bewildered, looking up to her 'ranger.' There was a blue and red robin, a bird Pokémon that Jessie couldn't remember ever seeing before. Scanning the Pokémon with her Pokedex, Jessie saw that it was a Taillow, a bird Pokémon that was regional to primarily Hoenn. Jessie had never visited Hoenn (only Johto and Unova) so this Pokémon was entirely new to her.

The mechanical grinding that Pidgey squawked brought Jessie's attention back to the park. The Taillow must've been preparing to ambush Jessie and her ranger, as they had only been in the park for a few minutes. Taillow must've thought Jessie would've been easy to scare away and prevent from entering the forest, but the Mechanical Pidgey seemed to think differently. He was boasting in front of the Taillow, almost as if he wanted to prove his dominance. Regardless of Pidgey's reasoning, it seemed to be angering the Taillow, which was not a good thing.

"Quiet down!" Jessie exclaimed to her ranger. "We don't want to have to fight this Taillow. Let's try and leave it alone." Jessie feared it was too late, however, because Pidgey had been taunting the Pokémon for a while now. Either Taillow was getting afraid or was getting angry, Jessie couldn't be sure. She hoped the former so that they could leave the bird in peace, but she wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter. Regardless, she could only sit and wait until she found out how Taillow reacted.

@Ataro ; I'll battle if I can't escape. Want to save the Pokedoll for later.

You decide not to capture the Taillow and try to leave it alone, hoping that it would fly off and leave you alone. And it did! You continued walking forward past the many colorful flowers by your side and after what seemed like a long thirty minutes, you finally encountered a clearing. There was no other available routes to you, but just one - a huge and wide tree trunk that was elevated up.

Seeing as there were no other choices, you decided to take the dangerous and life-threatening choice. Before you could take any more steps, the leaves above you started to rustle, and a Pansage dropped down suddenly, scaring the wits out of you and your Arcanine. Will you try to leave it alone, or attempt to capture it?

It seemed as if it took an hour for the Taillow to decide whether or not to fight. However, after what really only was about 15 seconds, the Taillow hesitantly backed down. It flew back into its previous perch on a wide petal of a massive flower and resumed scanning the path for any threats.

"It must've just been testing us. Trying to see if we were here to do harm to his forest," Jessie commented, mainly to herself. She was pretty surprised that Taillow, which were generally considered just as pest-like as the Pidove native to Unova, had developed an intricate system like this. Having 'guards' of the forest to prevent foes from entering was smart and unlike anything she would expect from a Taillow. Regardless, Jessie and Mecha Pidgey had passed the test. They continued down the winding path in the Flower Forest.

Jessie saw that the path was relatively long and quiet, so Jessie decided to release her Arcanine and walk together to keep themselves company. These flowers were beautiful, but something felt off. Jessie knew they had been walking for quite a while (she assumed around an hour) and was still having to constantly glance over her shoulder as shadows dashed by behind her. Her Arcanine noticed it too, but aggravating a foe like what Jessie had been seeing would be foolish. It was better to just continue on until it left them alone.

Too wrapped up in her cautiousness, Jessie hardly even noticed when she entered a small clearing of the flowers. The rain picked up slightly, much to Arcanine's dismay, as he, being a fire type, naturally hated water. He was growing soggy but constantly shook around to stop from getting soaked.

"It's okay, Arcanine. Let's just keep moving," Jessie said with a smile to her Pokémon. However, upon turning around, Jessie noted that the clearing appeared to be a dead-end. The generally smooth dirt path that Jessie had been following earlier had faded, and it seemed as if Jessie would have to turn back to retrace her steps. However, the Mecha Pidgey seemed to think differently. Squawking, the Pidgey motioned for Jessie to follow it.

"You want me to go up there?" Jessie asked in disbelief as the Pidgey flew up a massive wooden tree. The tree was at a slight inclination so that it was steep but not to the point Jessie and Arcanine wouldn't be able to walk on it. At the end of the makeshift path was a natural landing with another path leading back into the Flower Forest. "That's where the path goes?" she asked. "Okay, I guess we have no choice," Jessie said, putting her hat back on and tying her shoes. The rain had made the wood slick, so they would have to take extra caution while climbing up the first few limbs.

After the first few branches, Jessie heard a rustling in the leaves further up ahead. Confused, she looked up from the ground she had nervously been eyeballing. However, Jessie saw nothing of interest. Perhaps it was just a gust of wind? Maybe it was a fleeing Pokémon? Jessie wasn't sure but continued climbing up the tree anyway. Not even five seconds later, a small green monkey dropped down from a large branch up above.

    "Pan pan!" the monkey exclaimed.

Jessie screamed in reply. Once she got over the initial fear of almost being full-out attacked by a Pokémon, Jessie realized that she had seen one of these monkeys before. They were often treated as pets back in Unova, and Jessie had seen ones but never actually had one. They were often found in groups of three due to their trio-based typing, Grass, Fire, and Water. Jessie had no doubt that this monkey was of the grass typing. Not only was it primarily green colored, but there were seeds growing on top of the Pokémon's head that reminded Jessie of broccoli.

Arcanine growled at the new Pokémon. He was already in a grumpy mood, so the Pansage's little stunt was not going to sit well with him. His snarl was one of the most intimidating in the Pokémon world, and only the most foolish of Pokémon wouldn't respect it.

"You ready for a battle, Arcanine?" Jessie asked. Her Pokémon simply nodded. Jessie wasn't certain of how hard it would be to fight on a tree, especially against a Pokémon that knew it well, but her Arcanine was very agile himself. Keeping up with the monkey would inevitably be difficult, but Jessie would have no other choice. If she wanted to hopefully capture this Pokémon, both she and Arcanine would have to adapt.

"Okay, let's start this off with a Flame Charge!" Jessie exclaimed. This would help Arcanine gain some speed to keep up with the Pansage, which would be essential if there was a bunch of movement in this battle. "Once you've hit him and gained some speed, go for a Will-o-Wisp! Make sure you're not too far away from Pansage, since Will-o-Wisp is a dangerous move if it doesn't hit its target. You've got this!" Jessie shouted to her Pokémon.

Arcanine gave a slight smirk to the Pansage. This battle would hopefully be easy for Arcanine, but Jessie didn't want Arcanine getting too cocky. This fight would still be tough, and he would still have to be on his feet for the entirety of the fight. The goal was to weaken the Pansage as much as possible without completely knocking it out. Then, when the battle had progressed far enough, Jessie would through a Park Ball to capture the Pansage. For now, however, all she could do was sit and watch the battle unfold.

    @Ataro ; Male, I guess.

Your Arcanine growled in response to the antics pulled by Pansage, but Pansage for some reason, didn't seemed to be scared or intimidated. He must have been especially strong-spirited in his nature. You decide to call for a Flame Charge which left Arcanine rushing towards Pansage in a flaming blitz of fire.

The Pansage was not going down without a fight however and with a massive leap, he caught onto one of the branches above and proceeded with a fury of slicing motion. This seemed to have slice through the branches and leaves, leaving a huge gap in the opening for the rain to fall through. You watch in despair as your Flame Charge was immediately doused, and a sudden downpour of rain landed on Arcanine, but Arcanine recovered quickly still. Your Arcanine roared briefly before firing orbs of wisps towards Pansage, whom was taken aback by the fast recovery of your well-trained Pokemon.

Just moments after Jessie finished giving orders to her Arcanine, the regal Pokémon was off. Charging towards the small grass monkey at speeds no human could ever achieve, it seemed as if Arcanine would be pummeling into the Pansage any second. However, Arcanine had underestimated the Pansage's agility. Before Arcanine could make any contact with the monkey, Pansage jumped to a different branch and sliced away all the foliage that protected Arcanine from the rain. A downpour erupted onto Arcanine, drenching him in water.

"It's okay, Arcanine! Keep with the plan and go for a Will-o-wisp!" Jessie exclaimed. If anything, this would only motivate her Arcanine to fight even harder. Being made a fool like this generally didn't go well with the lion Pokémon, especially because of his typically bold nature, so he could only get more angry. Jessie noticed that even though the Flame Charge had been doused and no real damage was dealt to the Pansage, Arcanine was still leaping around significantly faster than normal. The speed boost must've taken effect even without the actual attack hitting.

Precisely as Jessie predicted, Arcanine seemed to be bubbling with rage. The average Pokémon would've been temporarily disabled by the sudden downpour, but Jessie's Arcanine was instantly back in the battle again. Pansage had predicted that he could get away unscathed, but Arcanine had recovered almost instantly. Before Pansage could comprehend what had happened, Arcanine sighed a bright blue wisp of almost ghost-like energy. The blue ball seeped into Pansage, and small crackles of flames began to dance across Pansage's grass-like skin. The flames were contained, but Jessie knew that Arcanine had successfully burned his opponent.

"Nice job!" Jessie cheered. "Now quick, before he can recover! Use Fire Fang!" Jessie exclaimed. Because a burn generally lowered an opponent's ability to weather attacks, particularly physical ones, Arcanine's sharp teeth would have no problem dealing some major damage to the Pansage. Remembering this, Jessie suddenly had an idea. "When you've dealt damage with Fire Fang, try switching to Thunder Fang! Maybe the electric currents will paralyze the monkey as well."

Though he definitely understood and agreed with Jessie's commands, Arcanine didn't give a nod or snarl or anything, which was strange for Arcanine's generally obedient nature. However, Jessie soon realized this was because her Arcanine was glaring intently at the Pansage. He was angry and prepared to deal as much damage as possible.

Your Arcanine pushed forward with his heightened speed and crunched onto Pansage fiercely with a Fire Fang. You start to get glad that the rain did not seem to lower the damage of your attack since Fire Fang was a close range direct hit, which wasn't affected by any rain petering out your Fire-type attacks. As the Fire Fang dissipated over time, you start to see a green glow forming inside Arcanine's mouth. Suddenly, Pansage jumped out and Arcanine started to choke. Within seconds, something seemed to have exploded inside Arcanine's mouth and after a while, you start to realize that it must have been a close range Seed Bomb attack that was targeted in Arcanine's mouth. The attack seemed to have extra damage as well, considering that the attack was targeted at Arcanine's weak spot.

Pansage fell back down after launching that attack. You start to notice how much damage Pansage had received and he started to cringe in pain from the aftereffects of the burn as well.

Jessie smirked as she felt this battle was coming close to an end. Her Arcanine was still as healthy as could be, and Jessie doubted that the Pansage would be able to even remotely deal damage. Though Pansage was definitely tricky and manipulative, his attacking abilities were definitely subpar. Arcanine didn't even need incredible defenses to shrug off whatever attacks Pansage could through at him; not only had Arcanine faced much stronger foes in the past, but Pansage's available set of moves were almost exclusively grass typed. Arcanine was naturally able to defend against those moves due to his fire typing, so this battle would presumably end the same way it had been the entire time - easily.

Her Arcanine followed Jessie's instructions almost religiously. Arcanine was moving around at blistering speeds, which created quite the cool effect. His dark orange and red mottled fur whipped around in the slight breeze, which generated the illusion that Arcanine himself was made out of a dark fire. The illusion was so convincing and mesmerizing that Jessie had no idea when Arcanine had the Pansage in its mouth. Waiting until the monkey was completely in his clutches, Arcanine's mouth erupted in flames. Tendrils of fire coiled around Arcanine's longest fangs, which danced across Pansage's shrieking body.

"Don't forget the second part of the plan!" Jessie reminded, but she instantly feared that she had made a mistake. Upon chiding in, her Arcanine gave a sideways glance to his trainer to confirm, but this was all the time Pansage needed to turn the tide of the battle. "What... what's the matter?" Jessie asked to her Arcanine as his eyes grew wider. The licks of fire that were usually sneaking out of Arcanine's chomping mouth had stopped. However, the thing Jessie feared the most was that Arcanine's mouth started to radiate a lime green color. Before Jessie could even comprehend what had happened, Arcanine had stumbled over and Pansage had climbed up into a limb of tree several feet higher.

"Ark!" Jessie exclaimed, running over to her Pokémon. She laid a gentle hand on her Pokémon, which caused him to return from whatever 'dream' he was just in. Upon reopening his eyes, Arcanine quickly hopped up from his position on the floor. Though he was obviously disoriented and confused, Jessie had no doubt that he was okay. The damage dealt was substantial, but Jessie knew that he would be able to carry on.

"Are you okay, buddy?" she asked. Her Arcanine gave a weak bark. "Your throat must be injured from whatever attack that was," she observed, "so try to stay away from ranged attacks. This is almost over, I promise," Jessie reassured. She gave a gentle pat to her Pokémon and backed away, leaving him to the battle. Coughing once more, her Arcanine stumbled up to his feet. The attack hadn’t dealt nearly enough damage to dispatch the fire dog, but the explosion itself was enough to disorient Arcanine. It would take a moment for Ark to get reoriented, which would allow for Pansage to potentially attack.

“Wait a second…” Jessie thought aloud. “Quick, Ark! Use Extremespeed to knock Pansage over so I can get a clean chance to toss my Parkball! Remember, you’re not trying to knock Pansage out, so make sure to stay restrained! You’re just doing this to disorient him so we can secure the capture!”

Her Arcanine coughed one last time before nodding to Jessie. Though Pansage was still up above Arcanine, jumping across the limbs would be no issue for the Fire dog, especially if he was using a move like Extremespeed. He would be impacting with Pansage almost instantly after leaving his standing place due to Extremespeed’s mind-bending priority over other attacks.

Jessie pulled a single Park Ball out of her bag but quickly swapped it out for a Super Ball. Jessie wanted to ensure that this capture wouldn’t fail, and taking a risk so she could keep the higher-ranked Pokeball wouldn’t be worth it. She pressed the small button in the center of the device, causing it to expand, and prepared to toss it.

You told your Arcanine to perform an ExtremeSpeed attack with restrain, and your Pokemon performed it swiftly without any difficulty. Immediately after, you quickly threw your Super Ball, securing the Pokemon into the ball before the burn damage could lower Pansage's health any further. And the capture was very successful!

After capturing Pansage, you continue to walk up the tree and discover that the other side leads to a underground cave! Before you can continue any further, a Sunkern appears and blocks your path. What will you do?

Though the close proximity of the Seed Bomb attack had still phased Arcanine, Ark's current state of mind acted as if the move never happened. Charging towards the Pansage with an Extremespeed, one of the fastest attacks in the entire universe, Arcanine grazed the monkey. The attack was more a nudge, but due to Pansage's already weakened state, it dealt some pretty massive damage. Jessie feared for a moment that the Pokémon had been completely knocked out.

"Uh oh..." Jessie thought to herself, her jaw dropped. However, the grass monkey started to pull itself up from the ground. The attempt was feeble and rather useless, but that was all the indication that Jessie needed. Pansage was at the brink of being knocked out, and the Super Ball that was now sailing through the air would soon secure it. The ball erupted as it closed in on the struggling monkey, and, after the light had subdued, Jessie saw that the Pansage was inside the ball. One wobble, two wobbles, and finally, the third and final wobble ended with a ping.

"Yeah!" Jessie cheered, thrusting a fist of victory into the air. "Nice job, Ark! We've caught ourselves a Pansage!" Her Arcanine gave a wild roar in delight. The Mecha Pidgey that had been silently watching the battle the entire time swept in and grabbed the Pokeball off the ground, storing it in a compartment. The Pansage would presumably stay there until the end of the run, so Jessie nodded to herself and continued climbing up the steep tree.

After a few minutes of climbing, Jessie found herself in front of a cave. "This is strange..." she said, keeping a watchful eye on the entrance. "I never knew the Botanic Gardens had a cave system... Oh well, we might as well go in it. Nowhere else to go but forward!" she said with a smile. Stepping forward, Jessie hardly noticed when a tiny seed somehow levitated into the middle of her path. The only thing stopping her from simply running it over was that her Arcanine gave a slight growl.

"I don't believe it, there's a Sunkern here?" Jessie asked. She remembered playing with these small Pokémon back in Johto at her father's garden. They were generally friendly and harmless, so Jessie wondered why this one had such an adamant feeling of stopping them from entering the cave. "Let's just walk around it," Jessie said to Mecha Pidgey and Ark. "We'll battle it if it chooses not to let us by, okay?" she asked. Again, Jessie felt she would need the Pokedoll later. Sunkern were little threat to her Arcanine, especially since they were now underground and the rain would have little to no influence on Arcanine's fire-based attacks. "Let's press on," she said with a confirming nod.

You try and ignore the Sunkern, but it just won't leave you alone. You decide to battle it to try and conserve the little PokeDolls you have access to, but Sunkern was not going to wait for your move. It started off quickly by glowing quickly, using Growth to boost its stats. Meanwhile, you noticed that there was a small spring beside you in this cave filled with plenty of vines, flowers and mushrooms. Perhaps the purifying nutrients in the spring water could heal your Arcanine's throat?

Jessie groaned as the Sunkern stepped into her path. This seed had no business bothering a trainer, especially one with a powerful fire type at hand. Sunkern was already paper thin defense-wise, so boasting like the Sunkern did wouldn't do it any good. The seed Pokémon nearly doubled in size, which Jessie recognized to be a move that a few of her Pokémon were capable of learning back in Nimbasa, including both of her beloved Jolteons. However, Sunkern had no real way to use this method, as his ability to attack was already pitiful.

"Okay Arcanine, I guess we're fighting," Jessie frowned. Her Arcanine gave a weak bark in response. His throat was still in bad condition from the attack Pansage had pulled, so this fight would have to be close-combat. Jessie doubted that Arcanine could pull off a successful Flamethrower because of his injured throat, so this battle would inevitably be close-combat. "Wait a second..." Jessie thought as her mind flashed back to one of the first times she had battled with Ark, who was a Growlithe at the time. Jessie had accidentally picked a fight with a Fearow, one of the most furious Pokémon in all of Johto. When almost all was lost, the Growilthe released a bellowing roar. The cry was so loud and fearsome that even the Fearow flew away, scared out of its feathers.

"Alright, try using Roar! It should clear up your throat and maybe scare away this stinking Sunkern!" Jessie said. "If Sunkern sticks around though, go for a Flamethrower!"

@Ataro ; I asked Akinai who asked Jess what Roar did. Then Jess told Akinai who told me this (c/p): Roar/Whirlwind has a chance of scaring off a wild Pokemon, 50% just like trying to run. But it can be used for other things; Roar can be used to intimidate an opponent, (non-relevant stuff about Whirlwind.) So yeah.

You try to scare away the Sunkern by making your Arcanine use Roar. Sunkern took advantage of the situation and strike first with a powerful Double-Edge. The Roar did seem to clear up the cough now, but Sunkern didn't seem to get scared still. You decide to call for a Flamethrower right away, and it knocked out the Sunkern in one hit immediately.

After that, you continue walking in the cave and noticed that a Shroomish was drinking water out of the spring. What will you do?

    @Ataro ;

Jessie covered her ears, bracing herself for the rumbling growl that would soon shake the cavern. Roar would hopefully scare away the seed Pokémon, but Jessie could never be too sure. Though she recalled upon a memory of her Arcanine scaring away a Fearow, she also remembered a Spinarak, which was one of the most timid Pokémon in the world, stood defiant to Arcanine's Roar. It was honestly hit-or-miss with these Pokémon. Depending on their natural instincts, this method either worked flawlessly or did nothing at all.

Even with her ears covered, she heard a sharp ringing. Not only was the bark extremely loud, but the sound waves reverberated off of the cave walls. Hopefully, the Sunkern had left and Arcanine could stop his bark.

However, when Jessie opened her eyes, she saw the Sunkern lunging itself into Arcanine. Normally, the move would've be laughably weak, and Arcanine would've been able to shrug it off like it was nothing. But, due to the Sunkern's Growth on the last turn, he had substantially increased in size. The full-on tackle was far more powerful than both Jessie and Arcanine had expected it to be. Arcanine was knocked back, causing a halt to his Roar, but he soon realized that his throat was fixed. Ark fired off an intense billow of flames that enveloped the Sunkern entirely. When the fire dissipated, a knocked out Sunkern rested on the ground.

"Wow, a one-hit knock out," Jessie noted. Her Arcanine must've been heated up and ready to use his fire attacks again, so the motivation might've helped. "Let's keep going," Jessie said with a nod. The Mecha Pidgey fluttered up ahead, leading the way.

After walking for several minutes, the trainer encountered an underground spring that gushed water. The spring created a stream that looked like it lead out of the cave, and Jessie noted to follow the stream when she got the chance. However, Jessie also noticed that there was a Shroomish sitting by the river, awkwardly drinking from it.

"Let's try and walk around it. If we can't escape, I suppose that using the Pokedoll now might be helpful," Jessie whispered to Mecha Pidgey.

You try and walk away without disturbing the Shroomish, and it was a success! You continued walking and after what seemed like a long thirty minutes, you noticed that you have walked up to a dead end. The cave wall that was facing you was filled with so many vines, and they formed a sort of mystery carving on the wall.

Before you could take another look to inspect the wall, a Cherrim had appeared to stop you. Or at least you're guessing that it's a Cherrim. The Pokemon had cloaked itself, hiding its face from you. You managed to recognize it as a Cherrim in its Overcast Forme. Will you attempt to capture it?

    @Ataro ;

Jessie nervously tottered past the Shroomish, hoping not to disturb it. Mecha Pidgey flew overhead, and Jessie feared that the Pidgey might attract Shroomish's attention. However, it didn't matter once Jessie had sneaked her way behind the mushroom and continued down the cavern. Whether or not the Pokémon had knowingly let them pass or didn't even see them, Jessie was now in the clear to go ahead. She left the geyser room in peace.

Arcanine was panting heavily as the group forged deeper into the cave. He wasn't out of breath due to running or the like, so Jessie paused for a moment. Pulling out a small bag of bright green powder that had been supplied to her for this trip through the park, Jessie set her hand on Arcanine's shoulder. "Here buddy, eat this," she said, wrapping the powder in some bread that she had packed for her lunch. Her Arcanine sniffed the makeshift sandwich and turned away, but Jessie pressed on. Eventually, the Arcanine ate the meal and was filled with energy. Jessie giggled and tucked away the rest of her belongings.

They continued walking down the long cavern hall until they came to a dead end. "Oh great," Jessie sighed. "Now what do we do?" she asked to Mecha Pidgey. However, the metallic bird was pointing with its beak towards the roof of the cave. "What is it?" Jessie asked.

Resting gently on a ledge several feet above Jessie was what looked like an upside-down tulip bud. Gorgeous yet somehow melancholy violet flower petals drooped towards the floor. The slight crack in the cave roof dripped rain drops onto the bulb, giving the illusion that teardrops were rolling down the flower bulb. Upon closer inspection, Jessie noticed that flower was actually alive and was about to jump off its ledge. It took a moment for Jessie to realize that the Pokémon was about to land in her hair.

"What is that?!" Jessie asked as she stepped backwards, avoiding the falling Pokémon. Once grounded, the flower bulb stood up on its previously hidden stubs for feet and wobbled several feet closer to Jessie. "It seems like this Pokémon's looking for a fight," Jessie thought with a devilish grin. However, when she remembered the state her Arcanine currently was in, she decided against fighting.

"Let's try and run away one last time. If all else fails, I'm sure that we can toss the Pokedoll, as I believe this is my last encounter," Jessie said to the Pidgey. "I'm ready to head out when this Cherrim lets us!"

You decide to heal up your Arcanine back to full health by feeding it an EnergyPowder, and try to avoid having a battle with the Cherrim as well. The wild Pokemon did not seem to want to leave you alone however, but you quickly changed that by throwing a PokeDoll.

Suddenly, you hear a very loud buzzing sound and noticed that there was a gigantic helicopter above you! It dropped a rope ladder down and you assume that that was the cue for you to get into it, because the contest was ending soon.

    END
