You enter the Valley and almost immediately discover an ominous cave, with an almost eerie aura emanating from the opening. As you begin to peer in, a strange black shape whirls in front of you, its lone eye glaring at you- an Unown. The shape of this creature's body, that of a large question mark, seems to mirror the Pokemon's unspoken query towards you: Why are you here?

Kiryu was on his latest expedition with his faithful friend Susanoo, his Lucario. Nodding to his partner and grinned. The cave wasn't damp or wet as expected but it did have a Psychic type glow to it. They entered the cave and together and smiled. Inside they cave they came across a floating at them, questioning them as if it had they answer they wanted. Oh well. Kiryu smiled and went past the small floating letter, giving him a smile as he decided to go on his way and see what else this place had in store.

OOC: Multiple escapes are allowed, but the wild Pokemon will attack after every failed attempt made after the first one.

As you start to move away the Unown's eye narrows down in anger, as if this was the incorrect answer. It quickly darts in front of you, clearly adamant upon a battle as if to make up for this transgression.

"Persistent little thing ain't it?" Kiryu muttered to his Lucario, who deftly agreed by the way. Still it wouldn't be all that great to knock out a weak Pokemon like Unown. It was out right cruelty in his opinion. Turning to Lucario, Susanoo got in an awkward fighting stance and gave the tiny letter a intimidating growl. Kiryu put his hand to his head and smiled. "Susanoo use Nasty Plot and then Dark Pulse. I don't wan't to be all that mean." The Jackel agreed and gave his trainer a nod as he began thinking of extreme torture methods and evil ways to completely destroy his opponent from the inside out. This would greatly increase his special attack and give him a greater advantage. He began charging up a massive Dark Pulse, indicated by the dark aura surrounding his body. Lucario would fire once his trainer gave the command.

While Unown manages to get a Hidden Power attack in before Susanno can finish charging, the powered-up Dark Pulse makes short work of the small creature.

As you enter the cave, the eerie sensation from earlier becomes stronger, almost tangible as if it is warning you to leave now. After only a few steps, a Gothitelle approaches you, clearly not happy that you have decided to continue.

Once Lucario was was finished with the Unown, he tried to heal himself with his aura but unfortunately, no cigar. “Hrm..the usually works. Maybe it's the caves. Oh well, lets continue." The two went inwards and began to look at the strange markings on the inside. This seemed like fun. Along the way we ran into a Gothitelle who seemed very unhappy to see us. Peeeeerfect. “Susanoo lets try and get past this one, I can't be bothered to battle her as well."

The Gothitelle lets you pass, only shaking her head sadly as if to say “You have been warned...” Seeing that the wild Pokemon will let you pass by without a fight, you and Susanno go on ahead.

The further in you go, the more it feels as if someone or something is observing you. After feeling a cold chill coming from behind you look around... and end up looking straight at a Yamask.

As the humanoid looking Pokemon allowed them to pass, Kiryu went onto observe the ruins and make note of them through a recorder he had brought in. This was for his own notes for a revision of the parks map. Being more of an auditory learner, due to his training, this was how he made his way through the world. Inside, a floating mask had decide to block their path. How dare it? It was a Yamask, a ghost type Pokemon. This evolved into a Cofagirus, a very bulky Ghost Pokemon but Kiryu didn't want to catch it. Susanoo agreed that it would be a bit cumbersome to waste time here. Kiryu was unsure of how bad his luck was but things were becoming annoying. He decided to go ahead and attempt to leave.

The Yamask darts towards Susanno in an attempt to goad the Lucario into a fight, but thankfully your partner manages to ignore the Ghost Pokemon for the most part. After giving a small sigh of disappointment, the wild Pokemon floats away.

As you go further into the cave, the tunnel widens out considerably, leading into a large natural cavern. The room is quite large, and you look about the area for any nearby Pokemon. Not even a moment later, the ground shakes as a large creature enters the cavern- a Golurk.

The Yamask was so spunky and full of energy. It was really amazing but Kiryu decided that it wasn't on his list. He wanted something simple yet with a bit of flavor to it. Susanoo just walked on past as the Yamask continued on. Sighing, Kiryu looked on more to see if there was something else of value in the area. Suddenly he heard a few thumps. It was a golurk, a massive Ground/Ghost type Pokemon. This thing was extremely tall and wide. Grabbing a Pokedoll from his backpack, Kiryu tossed it at the massive Pokemon hoping that it would catch his attention and open up a path for him.

While at first it doesn't look like the wild Golurk is going to move aside from anyone, it suddenly has a change of heart as you toss the Pokedoll forward. Grabbing the Doll out of mid-air with impressive speed, it moves to the side so you can explore the rest of the area with no trouble.

An irritated cry to your left makes you look to the side, and you see another Pokemon, a Golett, rush forward, evidently unhappy that it did not receive a toy as well. Judging from the way the larger Golurk sighs in response, it's almost safe to say the two are siblings.

Kiryu watched as the smaller Pokemon came out from his left. It was a Golett, the Pre-evolution of Golurk. Kiryu thought and decided to pull out his Pokedex and see what it had on the Ghost and Ground type.

"Golett, the Automaton Pokemon. The energy that burns inside it enables it to move, but no one has yet been able to identify this energy. Golett are Pokémon that are thought to have been created by the science of an ancient and mysterious civilization. It has a Ground/Ghost typing, making it immune Normal, Fighting and Electric type attacks. It can learn Shadow Punch, Earthquake, Hammer Arm, and Iron Defense."

The voice played out softly, more so through the headphones he had connected to it. Smiling, he thought about how Lucario could approach it without major damage. Susanoo turned to me and spoke through his mind.

"I think this would be the perfect time for me to use Magnet Rise."

"Why would that be? Are you sensing a massive metal deposit? Ore? Perhaps some type of electrical distrubance?"

"Yeah, a metal deposit that's emitting some type of magnetism. This one is fairly huge. It's everywhere. I'm not even sure that this metal is earthly. The entire valley seems otherworldly to me. This might be a place to proceed with caution but also explore."

"I see. I could bring it to the rangers attention later on if need be, but right now use Magnet Rise. If you can stick to walls and float, you'll be at a fairly good advantage. Go lightly and make sure not to go all out."

Susanoo nodded and his body became surrounded in a ghostly blue aura and he rose off the ground. It was only a few inches but he was able to skate around a bit. Doing a few back flips, he jumped backwards and clung to the wall like a Joltik to a Beartic. A light smirk came across his face and he stood up, staring at the Golett from above. The space was fairly big as the Golurk was still there. He held out a hand/paw and flexed it, telling the Golett to bring it on. Kiryu rested his hand on his side and just shook his head. Susanoo was calm when he wanted to be but he didn't know when to take things slow when he got riled up. Smiling, Kiryu adjusted his mask and got ready. This was going to be short and sweet if he could.

"Geez as impatient as ever."

"I heard that. Mind link isn't closed yet."

"I intended you to hear that. Remember that we need to hurry up and move quickly. I want to end this before Magnet Rise ends. Just because you can dodge ground type moves doesn't mean you can dodge the other ones. Fighting still is Super Effective.

"Got it, but this thing. Was it really made by an ancient civilization? I could have sworn there was some other Pokemon made by alchemy as well. Also, does its coloring look odd to you? I could have sworn Golett was teal. This one seems...gray."

Kiryu scratched his locks and opened up the dex again. To his surprise, Susanoo was right. This Golett had a alternate color scheme going on. It was gray, green and black instead of the Teal and yellow. Quite a rare find. Kiryu took a picture of it and ran it through the database for the Ranger HQ to document Pokemon of different colors. It was in his best interest to help further the National Park by whatever means he has up his sleeve. Smiling, he turned to Susanoo who was watching the Golett expectantly.

"Use Psychic and slam it into the ground. Its not super effective at all and it should only do about 1/4 of damage," Kiryu spoke in his mind via the mind link. It becomes troublesome when one speaks and the opposing Pokemon hears and counter attacks. He preferred Psychic Pokemon or Pokemon that can speak subtly. Its enough to give anyone enough advantage when moves come out suddenly. Lucario nodded as his eyes glowed light blue and its body becomes outlined in light blue. Same did the spikes on the backside of his paws. Oddly enough, Lucario emitted light blue auras instead of any other colors. Must have been due to him using his Aura to bolster the techniques. This was a handy trick when it involved a Special Attack. It concerned Kiryu that Susanoo had a better Special Attack stat than his regular Attack stat. For a Fighting and Steel type, most would think the Attack stat would be higher. But none the less the two are really close in comparison so such things shouldn't really matter all that much.

Susanoo jetted back towards the ground and landed in front of Kiryu, strafing left and right in order to confuse the Golett with his massive speed. Albeit he was a lot slower than most. He came to an instant stop, bringing up a lot of dust from his skid, and began to focus all of the force he had contained right at the Golett. He felt an odd sensation when he would go to release his attack. Kiryu was trained to sense this too. The canyon was a bit odd and created some strange static. His mind seemed a bit fuzzy and he only wanted nothing more to get out of this canyon. First healing moves don't work and now this? He really felt the need to explore this portion of the Park more. Someone could be hurt, or worse.

As Susanno begins to levitate, the wild Golett utilizes Rock Tomb in an attempt to bring the Lucario back down to earth. A few of the boulders strike him, lowering his altitude, and lowering mobility overall.

Susanno unleashes a Psychic barrage, hurting the Golett considerably but not enough for it to strike back with another move; as the Lucario approaches just a little too closely, the Ghost-type judo-chops its target with a powerful Brick Break.

Kiryu saw that the Magnet Rise he had Susanoo use was pretty useless now that Golett had used Rock Tomb. This Golett was too smart for his own good. It was quite annoying in fact. Then again, what good would an easy battle be, at least this provided Kiryu with some excitement, as he had not seen much of that today. For the most part, this was his last encounter, and it was also the best Pokémon he had come across as of yet. He wasn’t about to let this one best him or escape from him. What he was going to have to do now was up his game and approach this at a different angle. He wasn’t sure what exactly to use that wouldn’t knock out the small Automaton Pokémon. In fact, he had just now decided that he was going to take a defensive look at this. It would be much easier for him to win this if the Golett could not do much damage to him with his attacks, and Kiryu knew exactly what to do.

“Susanoo, we’re going on the defensive side now. At least for the time being. That way, we can wear him out like that without having to attack him much. It should work perfectly, so long as no complications get in the way. As a matter a fact, we can stall this out as long as we want, we have plenty of time before this contest ends” Susanoo nodded in agreement.

“Yes, that seems like it could work. Though, I’d much prefer to go on the offensive and just straight out attack this ancient Pokémon until it is extremely low on health. However, I am aware of this park’s rules and how we cannot capture a Pokémon that is unconscious, which is unlucky for us because I could have knocked Golett out from the start and had this over with already. However, we shall play it defensively like you wish. What shall I use, Agility? Speed is a good defensive play. With speed I can outrun all and any of Golett’s attacks. Golett himself is pretty slow, so I won’t have much trouble besting him at this.”.

“Hmm. No, that isn’t quite what I had in mind. At least not yet. Right now I am thinking of raising your defenses. Golett appears to be quite strong with his physical attacks, so it would be logical to raise your regular defenses instead of your special defenses.”

“Yes, I agree. His special attack doesn’t seem all that great anyways so I don’t think it will do too much damage to me if he so chooses to use a special type attack. Really, we should try and encourage him to use special type attacks, my special defenses are quite good today, even without a boost I don’t think he can do much damage to me there."

“Alright, so we agree then. Raise your defense. It is quite a shame that we didn’t get you to learn Iron Defense. That technique would prove to be extremely useful in this particular battle. If we had that, we wouldn’t have to waste time with anything else. You get two of those set up and you’d be hard for him to do damage to.”

“Hmph. That is correct. At the time, it wasn’t predominantly important. I actually needed Bulk Up instead of Iron Defense. That Pokémon we were battling at the time would have knocked me out had I not learned Bulk Up as you had predicted. The attack he would have given me would have finished me for sure in that battle, and at the same time, I could not knock him out without getting an attack boost like I did. However, you are correct; we should have spent time to learn that as well. In the future, we shall not make that mistake and just learn both of the moves if time allows us to.”

“Well, that being said, I guess you’ll just have to use Bulk Up. I don’t want your attack to be higher than it already is. You’ll just have to be careful to not use a physical attack and just limit yourself to your special attacks. If you were to use a physical attack, use it only as a defensive maneuver to deflect an attack or the likes. You don’t want to risk knocking it out, not at this point at least.”

“Well then, is that all I should do?” Susanoo asked, knowing the answer to that question. He just felt compelled to ask anyways. “I will need more than that to prevent him from doing further damage.”

“Indeed you will. That is why you will also use Double Team as well. With that in place, you should be good from his next attacks. At least for a little while.”

“Double Team isn’t something I like using.” He sighed, “but I agree that it would provide me with the upper hand and prevent further damage from taking place. We are working on speed though next right?” He asked grinning.

“Yes, that too will come into play after this is complete.” I said nodding. “For now though, just focus on Bulk Up and Double Team. We can’t risk you getting attacked any more than you already have been. You’ve taken more damage that was needed, and for that I am truly sorry. I should have paid more attention to the Pokedex and saw this coming.”

“Ha, it is alright.” He shrugged. “Honest mistake, but we haven’t lost yet, so don’t give up.” With that Kiryu nodded and stepped back, waiting for Susanoo to begin his defensive strategy.

Susanoo's body quickly became surrounded in a crimson aura. The muscles on his body began to grow and expand. As they did, he flexed as many muscles on his body as he could. Doing that would make them seem even thicker than they actually were, giving him a more intimidating look. That would instantly raise his attack stat and his defense stat. He much needed that defense stat, so Kiryu hoped that it worked.

After he did that, Double Team is what would take place next, if Golett hadn’t already attacked by them. Susanoo would raise his arms and create multiple of copies of himself. How many was usually determined by the circumstance. In this case, he would create between four and five. The copies would match his color and appearance to the dot. The copies would then do whatever the Susanoo tells them to do without question, as they had no mind of their own. They would mimic his every move, making it extremely hard for the opponent to know which was the real Susanoo. When the copies are hit by any attack, they immediately disintegrate.

If this all played out well, and the god who was controlling these outcomes deemed it fit, Susanoo would hardly take any damage this turn. The last turn didn’t go so well, so Kiryu was hoping this would change things around in his favor. He knew though that he couldn’t do much but wait for it all to take place.

OOC: Remember your items.

As Susanno Bulks Up, the wild Golett goes in for another weaker jab, this one a Rock Smash. While the damage seems minor, it shatters the guard boost from the Lucario's prior move.

Though weary, Susanno manages to split off into multiple images as he sets up Double Team, the images surrounding the Ghost-type. Trying to become more mobile, Golett's body begins to shine with a brilliant luster as it utilizes Rock Polish.

"The gods do not deem well in our favor today. Perhaps we should switch to a better strategy?" the Lucario implied, panting slightly and chuckled in spite of his Masters rage.

"God must be a woman." he said pulling his mouthpiece off and spitting to the side. He needed to focus more on the battle at hand while not getting overly distracted.

The battle didn't seem to be that long in his eyes and it would be decided with this next set of moves. Susanoo already had a Double Team up, so it would have a better chance of surviving a Hammer Arm if it decided to be crafty. Susanoo groaned and he hopped back towards his master and waited. Kiryu was busy drinking from his flask, trying to figure out what would be the more appropriate course of battle would be. He needed a move that wouldn't knock the Golett to kingdom come yet Super Effective.

"Damn, Ground..Ground..GROUND!" he exclaimed as he looked towards his PokeDex. Perfect. Ground is weak to Fighting, Water, Ground and Steel. Fighting would be ruled out since Golett is a Ghost type as well so that left a few options. Flash Cannon seemed suitable since it was Steel so it gained Same Type Attack Bonus. He went on to check the overall stats for it.

"80 battle power...hrm a 10% chance to lower Golett's special defense as well. That could come in handy if the battle doesn't sway in my favor." He gave it some intense thought but finally decided a game plan. This would allow him to give Susanoo a EnergyPowder to refresh himself and then lead into a full on assault with the Flash Cannon. It was too good to pass up.

"Master, Game Plan?"

"Yes, first we'll move on with giving you an EnergyPowder to give you a health boost. Magnet Rise will end by then but that's why we'll move to higher ground. We both know you'll need it. Next we'll go ahead and try out hitting it with a Flash Cannon. If push comes to shove, we'll have to try out a different strategy. One that involves getting rid of Fighting Type moves. It uses them too much for my taste. Seems like it's just trying to compensate for for it's lack of Ground moves. It was quite amusing to say the least. When block on one part appears, the other part emerges to compensate. Basic law. Susanoo agreed as it seemed the best choice to him as well. The both of them were ready to make this plan work.

"This seems actually very familiar. Where did you learn it?"

"Internet."

He pulled out a thin sheet of wax paper along with a mound of glittery powder rolled into it. Kiryu tossed it to the jackal Pokemon who inhaled the powdery substance. Sniffing the powder, it gave Susanoo a slight headache and it was incredibly bitter but it gave him the power to soldier on into this fight.

"Ok time to raise hell!"

Kiryu pocketed the flash and smiled. First he turned to Susanoo, who was focusing on the Golett, concentrating light particles in the horns that are on the back of his hand. They glowed a slivery color until it went to the horn on the center of it's chest. These were the particles needed to form the silver sphere inside for lucario that was Flash Cannon. Finally it was releasing in a massive silver torrent over a wide spread area at the Golett. It was like a sea of silver. Kiryu was hanging on the edge of one of the walls due to the Katana on his back. It shoved into the rocky substance up to the hit to insure no slippage. Lucario jumped back towards his master and smiled at his handy work but it wasn't over yet.

"Alright now for the the finishing touches." He grabbed the only Hyper Ball he had and waited for the stream to die down. Once it did, he had a clear shot at the Golett. Both landed and Kiryu gripped it tightly, chucking it directly at the alchemic Pokemon.

As you feed the Energy Powder to Susanno, the wild Golett takes the time to use Curse, building up his power in return for lower speed. However, its speed is high enough to strike with a quick Strength move before the Lucario can begin charging his own attack.

Without faltering, Susanno fires off a mighty Flash Cannon, greatly weakening the wild Pokemon. You quickly throw a Hyperball at the Golett, easily capturing the weakened creature. As you go to retrieve the sphere, a Gallade materializes in your path to escort you out; your Run is over.
