    @PichuBoy Hit me up on AIM if you have any more questions. :}

    The sunshine shone brightly through the windows of the office -- directly into Argent's eyes. Squinting as he tried to complete more of his paperwork, he simply couldn't concentrate, and the light shining into his eyes was giving him a headache. He had already politely asked someone to close the blinds, but the woman who he had so kindly asked refused to on the grounds that 'the sunshine is nice when it comes in the office'. Argent shook his head as he recalled this memory -- what was she, five? Honestly, Argent thought that some of the people who worked at the National Park were some complete idiots. As he struggled to write, he simply got up from the chair at his desk. He was at the window in less than a few moments, and jerked the blinds down on the window that was allowing the sunlight directly through to him. The woman began to protest, but Argent uncharacteristically and gruffly told her to shut up. He would've said something worse, but, well, he wasn't that sort of man, and he didn't want to spoil the pleasant day he'd been having so far by ruining relationships with co-workers. The woman sniffed and then went back to her own work, muttering to herself in a rather sultry way. Now that the sunlight was not so distracting, Argent could do his paperwork in peace. Many of the others were out of the office on that day -- the Park had been filling up lately, but he hadn't managed to nab a run of his own yet. Only a few other rangers and assorted colleagues were in the outposts today, and he'd been assigned to the Great Lakes outpost, with only his Chimecho and a few other people for company.

    Although the blinds were closed, the mixed scent that came from the Great Lakes -- a confusion between the salty smell of the seaside and the uplifting freshwater aroma -- was still filling his nostrils. It was, on the whole, a rather pleasant smell, although Argent didn't like the fishy smell that came through once in a while, whenever one of the more fish-like Pokémon neared the outpost. However, he silently got on with his work, as Chimey, his Chimecho, simply sat herself on his desk, her ribbon-like tail curling over the edge. She was amusing herself with her old game of psychically flinging waste paper into various targets, the majority of them actually being rubbish bins. She was really very good at this, as she'd been playing this ever since Argent had got his job at the National Park, but it was getting a little old for her -- in truth, there wasn't much for an energetic Pokémon like her in an office. She often had to find her own entertainment, but it wasn't easy when people were trying to work -- on days like these, whenever a lot of people were out, the other colleagues of Argent would have not very much to do, and they'd usually just hang around the office, chatting animatedly. Some were a bit more lively than that, but, even though the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day, et cetera, they just wanted to work today. Argent, too, was caught under the quiet spell of the office, and was absent-mindedly going through his paperwork, as usual. He never did much else when he was not on a run, although sometimes he did take his research papers into the office on the less-busy days.

    Argent put down his pen. Stretching his arms out and yawning, he wondered if it would be appropriate to nap a little, but he was already receiving stares from the other rangers for making noises while he was yawning. He rolled his eyes, but it seemed that not all of the attention was bad -- one of the secretaries of the outpost came bustling in, and, seeing the most lively one was Argent at the time, her gaze fell upon him. She waddled over to him -- she was sort of fat -- and handed over a file to him, with a few pages inside. Stifling another yawn, Argent noticed that the file was unlabelled -- they usually weren't. Argent looked up at the secretary, who smiled at him like a scary jelly.

    "What's this?" he asked her, not bothering to look inside the file.

    "That's someone's run. His name is Mark -- he's requesting a run in the Great Lakes, and you're conveniently here." As she spoke, her chins wobbled, and Argent smiled a little bit at this, although he was mostly smiling because of the opportunity to get out of the office. The place was getting a little boring, after all -- usually, he would have liked all the peace and quiet that he'd been getting today. He shrugged to himself. His fiancée's restlessness was probably rubbing off on him.

    "All right, I'll head out now. Just let me gather some things up," Argent replied, and the secretary nodded, wobbling off. Argent stood up immediately, slinging his already-prepared satchel over a shoulder. Picking up a Poké Ball from his desk, he headed to the toilets for a few moments, to change into appropriate wear for the Lakes -- it wouldn't make sense to go in his jeans, after all. Once he'd been suitably decked, he made his way from the outpost, and the full smell of the air hit him -- he didn't recoil, but actually liked it. Sniffing it in, he made his way to the gate, which was about five minutes away. On arrival, he simply hummed a tune, looking into the sunny horizon, awaiting the trainer who was to come.
