Argent had recently came back from a leave of absence from his work, one of the gravest importance to him personally. He had not left information about this with any of his fellow colleagues, only his superiors. He sighed quietly as he tapped his pen on the side of his face, working through some more paperwork as he usually did when he wasn't taking someone around the National Park on a run. Argent's Chimecho, of course, was right beside him, trying to invent a new game for her to play as she wiled away hours in the office, watching him write nonsense about goings on within the National Park. She preferred the times when she could go out with her trainer on a run some place or another, usually with a friendly stranger in tow. Sometimes they would befriend Pokémon - other times, they would battle or capture the Pokémon. Any number of things could happen in the National Park, that was for sure. She enjoyed the times she spent with Argent anyway, and knew that every one of them was most precious because there would be one day wherein they couldn't share these great times with one another. Chimey also lamented on those facts often enough.

Argent was growing bored with this paperwork - it wasn't even interesting enough to keep his attention, like with most of the other pieces of paperwork he strived to complete often enough. Argent found that he had settled down after working here for quite a while now, and was quite glad that he could actually talk to his colleagues without feeling nervous, or refer to his superiors often without the fear of being rebuked by them. He had come to the stage where things were pretty much as good as they could get, in a job that could inspire anyone to do anything. Argent was thankful for these blessings, and this thought flicked quickly across his mind. A rush of warmth spread through his body, and he found the energy to continue through the rest of this report, checking over it and the like. Argent was pretty good with paperwork, after all - but the paperwork wasn't what he was there for. He was there for an adventure, quite obviously. Anyone would want this job for the adventure in it, Argent believed.

"There's a run request just delivered, people!" one of the ladies cried. "It's for some guy named Jesse. He wants to go to the Grand Lakes. Any takers?"

Argent quickly stood up, as did several others. The lady, seeing Argent, smiled kindly at him - some feeling of recognition swept over him as she did so. She flung the files towards him. However, it was an extremely bad throw which sailed towards a person's (who worked just across from Argent) head. Chimey boredly set the files flying in the right direction with a bit of psychic power, and Argent deftly caught the files in his hand. He smiled slightly, his hand flicking down to his trusty satchel and opening the flap to it. He neatly placed the files inside one of the compartments, and walked out the door to the toilets to swap his undies for some swimming gear, in case the time for swimming came at the Lakes - which it would, naturally enough. After coming out from the toilets, he set Chimey to find his Feraligatr, Cocodrilo - which Argent fondly called Coco for the most part. Cocodrilo was a rather naughty Feraligatr, but Argent could usually keep his bad impulses under control. Chimey, after locating Cocodrilo through her psychic powers, called him to go to the Outpost at the Great Lakes.

Argent quickly got to the Outpost through the handy teleporters which were located at each outpost for getting from one place to another within a certain percentage. Argent stepped out of the Outpost, waiting for the trainer whom he would be taking through the Great Lakes to arrive. Cocodrilo was there also, waiting eagerly to get into the water. Argent smiled at him apologetically, promising him that he could once the trainer arrived.

Argent thought he looked quite good in a swimsuit.

“So you’re Argent, right?” I wondered as I stood awkwardly staring at the weird looking man and his Feraligatr. Argent was in his bathing suit, while Jesse was in a grey shirt and some plaid Swim shorts. His Feraligatr looked eager to get in the water as it danced around waiting for Argents orders.

“What do you say we get started on this run,” I asked eagerly as I reached into my pocket and grabbed one of my Pokéball, I quickly tossed the ball up and out shot a giant seahorse like Pokémon into the lake beside us.

“Alright, me and Prince, are ready when you are,” I motioned toward Argent as I hoped on my Kingdra.

Finally, Argent's trainer had arrived at last. Argent gave him a large, encouraging smile as he approached, sure that this run would be fun... for as long as it lasted, of course. He knew that trainers could choose to leave the park whenever they wanted, and Argent could see straight away that this trainer could possibly be one of those who liked a quick run - in for a few Pokémon and then straight back out again, sadly enough. Argent himself enjoyed the longer runs when people would stay for as long as they could before having to be escorted out, such as when they couldn't encounter any more Pokémon or when their Park Balls had ran out. Argent was aware that Jesse was equipped with more than enough things to get him going on this run, so there wasn't a moment to lose in his opinion. He thought to say something rather encouraging to Jesse first, so he didn't get the opinion that Argent was a person who could be easily intimidated or made nervous by new people - he wanted to be social and friendly, like he usually was. But as he formulated something to say, Jesse spoke instead and Argent looked at him curiously.

"So you're Argent, right?" Jesse asked Argent. Argent gained the impression from his tone that he felt slightly awkward, but Argent was sure that the awkwardness would wear out as he got to know him more. He flashed another quick smile at Jesse before replying.

"Yes, I am. Good choice on the Great Lakes, by the way - I haven't really been here yet, so this'll be as new to me as it probably is for you," Argent replied cheerfully, looking back to his two Pokémon. Chimey was scolding Cocodrilo for some reason, and he was looking quite ashamed of himself. Argent then surveyed Jesse's appearance - with a smirk at the plaid swimming trunks, Argent removed his other clothes in preparation to get into the water, prompting Chimey to look at her trainer in surprise. She had not often seen Argent in swimsuits and the like, so his new appearance shocked her slightly. In all truth, Argent made quite a good swimmer and was in fact quite athletic-looking - whilst he wasn't muscular, he at least looked decent. He shuddered when he imagined how he would look like if he was extraordinarily obese or something similar. However, trying to get these thoughts out of his mind, he looked to Chimey briefly, daring her to say something about his appearance almost... it was a meaningful glance, if there was such a thing, but Chimey remained undeterred.

Swimsuits simply become you, darling, Chimey thought to him in mocking tones.

Shut up being sarcastic already. Argent sighed as he turned back to Jesse, about to ask him was he ready... when Jesse spoke before him again.

"What do you say we get started on this run?" Jesse asked him, causing Argent to clap his hands together in a show of genuine enthusiasm, one that couldn't be mistaken for anything but. Before he could motion to Jesse to step into the Lakes, he realised that Jesse hadn't chosen a Pokémon to swim with. He stepped back slightly as Jesse took out a Pokéball, tossing it into the air dramatically like everyone does. A thin beam of red light shot towards the lake, and right on the spot where it hit materialised a Kingdra, a Pokémon Argent had scarce chance of seeing a lot of the time.

"All right, me and Prince are ready when you are," Jesse told Argent. Argent nodded briefly, then turned to his two Pokémon who were accompanying him to the place. With a quick gesture towards the Lake, Argent began to walk down to them. Cocodrilo shot ahead eagerly, leaping into the water right beside Prince the Kingdra in a crazed attempt to frighten this "new friend". With a quick scolding from Argent, Cocodrilo soon came back under control and allowed Argent to clamber onto his back. Assured that Jesse was also in place to swim through the Lakes, Argent urged Cocodrilo on. He became flat in the water, using his tail as a rudder and kicking efficiently with his legs to allow the journey to go at a comfortable pace. Argent sat up slightly in order to talk to Jesse and to allow him to take in his surroundings, which were, to be honest, breathtaking like most of the park - the Power Plant stuck out in his mind as probably the least attractive area within the park.

After a solid five minutes of swimming (floating in Chimey's case), Argent, Chimey and Cocodrilo were simply searching for a Pokémon to entertain Jesse in a battle with, perhaps engage it in battle before it could engage them. He knew that the attentions of everyone would wander if something interesting did not happen at this stage. But it would, of course - entertaining things always happen to those who seek them out.

"Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii." A strange voice of sorts rose from the depths of this seawater Lake, shocking Argent a little, but he quickly became accustomed to these frequent sounds. He knew that there was a Pokémon down there, waiting for them to trespass - but what? He hoped it wasn't anything seriously aggressive, or they really could be in trouble. They were practically in the centre of the lake, and Argent knew he couldn't outswim a Water-type Pokémon even if his life depended on it. Argent was sure that none of the Pokémon to be found were really dangerous, though - if there was, Park Staff would have found out by now and notified any Rangers within the vicinity, issuing a memo so those who weren't in the vicinity could see this also, just in case there was really trouble in a certain area.

"Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii." The voice came again, only it was definitely closer. Argent gasped as he saw a glimmer of scales pass underneath him. Water started rushing, and then suddenly a body slipped out of the water and into the air, like a jump. In all its glory was a Milotic, its scales shining in the afternoon sunlight as it elegantly fell back down to the pool of water, looking towards the group of friends imperiously.

"Well, Jesse... it seems you've gotten quite lucky. A nice Milotic for you, huh? Do you want to battle it to capture it... or try to escape?" Argent asked inquisitively, his voice masking the surprise - he had never actually seen a Milotic for himself before, and now this lucky trainer had a chance to actually obtain one.
