    @Zolar;

    I was flying around the Ranger Outpost, not a care in the world. Well, aside from falling off my Skarmory, that is. Since Gliscor was never willing to fly me around, I flew on my Skarmory instead. Gliscor glided around, we swooped and dove. Fun stuff, like that.

    Then my phone rang. It startled me, causing me to lose my grip on my steely steed's feathers. I fell from several hundred feet in the air, plummeting to my doom on the Ranger Outpost's asphalt parking lot.

    Luckily, Gliscor caught me. His powerful tail around my waist, he set me down on the grass between the Outpost and the parking lot. With a thud. Not quite the softest landing, but better than what it would have been.

    Gliscor gave me what could be a glare or an amused look. I wasn't quite sure, it could've been either. He was weird that way.

    "Strong signal," I muttered, then answered the call.

    It was my boss, Chainy. Thankfully, he hadn't seen the stunt I had just pulled. The last thing that I wanted was for him to have seen me free fall like that. Instead, he gave me much better news.

    "We have another Trainer for you to take through the park," he told me. "Through Mt Deckbi."

    "I'm on it," I replied.

    Almost as soon as I had said it, the data flooded into my phone. The Trainer's picture, his Pokemon, his shoe size... Everything I wanted and most of what I didn't want to know. Oh the wonders of smart phones.

    I recalled Skarmory into it's Pokeball and walked into the Outpost with that fake casualness you get after doing something that you hope nobody noticed. Gliscor followed me looking smug.

    The receptionist didn't give any clue that she had, but instead she pointed to the guy sitting on one of the lobby chairs. Oh hey, he was here already. No wonder Chainy had been so quick to send me his info.

    I pushed up my orange-tinted flight goggles to get a better look at him. Just like the picture. Huh.

    "Hey!" I called out somewhat quietly, as not to completely irritate the receptionist. "You ready to head to Deckbi?"

    OCC: I didn't realize I wrote so much xD @GliscorMan;

    ~~~
    I walked down the long, empty paved road following road signs that are directing me to the Ranger outpost. Tall trees line each side of the road and a few benches are scattered along the way. The blue sky doesn't have a cloud in it and the sun is keeping me nice and warm. I counted my steps just to pass the time faster. I stopped counting after about one hundred and thirty-six because it wasn't making the walk anymore enjoyable.
    I stopped for a moment to reach onto my belt. I grabbed a pearl-colored sphere and threw it into the air. About ten or so feet in the air, the ball exploded and shot a crimson light onto the ground. From the light, a small, brown, fox-like creature appeared. Around its neck, it has a fluffy, cream-colored collar. Its ears are like a rabbits, long and standing straight up from its head. The creature has a relatively large, brown tail that, just like its ears, stands up on end. The tip of its tail is the same color as its collar. Its eyes are long and black and it has a small nose and mouth.
    The small creature jumps toward me and yelps its name, "Eevee!"
    "Hey Veevee, how have you been?" I said rubbing it between the ears. Being one of my favorite Pokemon, Veevee got pampered quite a bit. Its fur is neatly brushed and extremely soft.
    Eevee rubs its head on my hand trying to signal it wants to be pet more. I put both of my hands underneath its belly and lift it into the air. I then pull it towards my chest to hold it. Eevee jumps out of my hands and lands on my shoulder. My left shoulder tends to be his favorite spot to lay down or sleep. He lays down and rests his head against my neck and relaxes, happy to be out of its Pokeball.
    Making sure that Eevee won't fall off my shoulder, I continue my trek to the outpost. I can hear Veevee making some kind of noise, almost like a purr of some sorts. I smile at the sound of it.
    My steps are increasing in speed as I become more anxious of the journey ahead. I spot a couple birds flying up ahead and don't make anything of it. There are some loud bugs somewhere in the distance. That would drive me insane having to listen to that all day. I think to myself.
    For me going to a mountain in search of new Pokemon in this park area, I can't see any mountains. The trees could be blocking them though.
    ~~~

    Finally after about a half hour of walking I reach the outpost. I am relieved to finally get here and start my adventure through Mt. Seckbi. I enter the building and am immediately blasted by an A/C. It feels great after being outdoors sweating for a while. The fur on Veevee fluffs up and hits me in the face. I have to spit out some of the hairs that got in my mouth.

    The room around me is quite comfortable, nice chairs and sofas are everywhere and miscellaneous plants are around the room. I walk up to, what appears to be, either a receptionist or an accountant and ask where to sign in for my park run. The older lady slides me a clipboard with things I need to fill out.

    I finish filling out the papers and hand it back to the lady. She looks it over real quick and says, "Your ranger will be here shortly. Take a seat." Her voice is extremely annoying and she seems like the kind of person that would get aggravated easily. I waste no time getting away from her. I could tell Veevee didn't like her either.

    I walk over to a seat that appears to be made out of leather and sit in it. Veevee jumps down from my shoulder, down to my lap and finally onto the ground. He walks around the chair and looks at everything he can see. I watch him as he lays down on his belly and slides himself under my chair. How he fits in that small gap, I have no idea.

    While waiting, I realize my current outfit may have not been the smartest idea to wear to a mountain with a bunch of fire-type Pokemon. A pair of Adidas of sweatpants are layered over a pair of athletic shorts (my usual get-up). I have a white shirt, that I normally wear while working out or playing a sport of some sorts, on that helps to keep me cool. Over that I have a black Adidas sweatshirt that matches my sweatpants. This could be problematic up there. I could always take the extra clothes off too.

    I check my phone and quickly reply to a couple of texts. Veevee's tail is sticking out of the bottom right side of the chair when I hear, "Hey! You ready to head to Deckbi?"

    I turn towards the sound and see my ranger. He has a pair of orange-ish goggles on and is looking at me with a smile.

    I get up and reply, "Absolutely," I look towards where Veevee was and see he turned himself around and has his head sticking out from under the chair. He lets out a quick, one-syllable yelp and I see that he is stuck. I laugh and lift the chair up a bit and he gets right out. I pick him up and set him on my shoulder once more. "This is Veevee and I'm Halas. We are ready when you are."

    "Absolutely," he said, struggling to untangle his Eevee from the waiting room chairs. "This is Veevee and I'm Halas. We are ready when you are."

    I nodded. The kid looked a little warm to be heading to Deckbi, but it would be fine. We didn't usually run into lava in the areas that were open for visitors. I tend to like the cold better, but ever since the Outer Haven disappeared, I'd had trouble finding a comfortable area to hang out in. Ah well, at least the updrafts in Deckbi made flight interesting. I realized my mind was wandering, so I focused myself on the Trainer before me.

    "Follow me," I said with a grin. "The name's Stone, by the way. Dominic Stone."

    His Eevee made a squeaking noise as Halas put it on his shoulder. Cute little fella, even if it would have trouble battling on the rocky terrain. My Gliscor gliding around above me, I led Halas over to where we park the jeeps. I prefer to fly, but regulations state that we have to drive the Trainers around in these electric-powered hunks of metal. Less catastrophic accidents that way.

    The drive over was short, considering Mt Deckbi was almost always looming wherever you look on the island. Okotori stood next to it, but the path to Deckbi had been more worn and was easier to travel. Everyone loved the lava floes. Didn't matter that I preferred the icy Okotori. Instead of brooding over my fall near the Outpost or the sudden disappearance of my favorite platform in the Outer Haven, I busied my mind with my checklist. It'd been a while since I led a Trainer through the park.

    Once we parked the jeep at the small Outpost at the foot of Mt Deckbi, we began to hike our way up towards the mountain. The rocky crags could hide a wondrous multitude of Pokemon, but none chose to show themselves. The four of us continued, looking up at the mountain that loomed above us. Up ahead, the path split in two directions. I turned to my charge to ask him which way he wanted to go and stopped. We had been being tailed most of the journey up. An Aron, small even for a first evolution, had stopped cold and was looking up at us. I pointed it out to Halas.

    "There's an Aron behind you," I told him, my voice close to a whisper. "You wanna catch it?"

    OOC: Compplleetteeeelyyyy forgot about this :x @GliscorMan;

    After watching me attempt to get Eevee out from underneath the chair, my ranger did a quick nod and made a brief introduction, "Follow me. The name's Stone, by the way. Dominic Stone."

    Quick and easy were the greetings. Whatever gets me out there the fastest, if that's a short hello and name swap, fine by me. Dominic looked ready to leave, although, it did appear that he was spacing off a bit. I hadn't noticed it at first, but there was a flying scorpion hovering above him. I immediately recognized the Pokemon, for I use it in my gym all the time. A Gliscor. It's one of those Pokemon that always seem to be sneaky. We began to leave the outpost the ranger just ahead of me leading me to an unknown location. With my small friend on my shoulder and ranger just a few paces ahead of me, we arrived to a parking lot of sorts.

    Dominic led us to a Jeep and we got in. He didn't appear to like being in it, much less having to drive it. The drive was mostly quiet and the scenery went by without much amazement or anything. The Jeep wasn't the smoothest ride, in fact, far from it. Veevee kept having to readjust himself on my shoulder because he kept sliding off of it. Poor little guy. For the first time I get a glimpse of Deckbi. The first thing that runs through my head is, How the hell didn't I see that?

    The mountain was huge, a couple thousand feet up, possibly ten or so. The sheer, brown face of the mountain was jagged and looked like it would be a tough ride up. Many holes and cracks lined the surface of the mountain and all of the Pokemon that could be hiding in there rush through my head. I had to admit, I was excited as hell to find out.

    Dominic parked the Jeep outside of an outpost at the foot of Deckbi and we got out of it. It wasn't too long of a drive, just a few minutes or so, but I am still relieved to be back on my own two feet. So was Veevee I could tell. I quickly stretched my legs and walked towards Dominic. We quickly began to head up the mountain.

    Not as steep as an incline as I thought, bearable at the very least. I thought to myself.

    The path was just some gravel and every step taken unleashed a miniature avalanche of pebbles down the path. You could sense that this was a volcano by the heat and the smell of sulfur and such. The heat, surprisingly, wasn't so bad. Then again, we weren't that far up the mountain yet. Dominic's Gliscor seemed to like being here, it glided around happily on some air stream.

    Just up ahead the path we were taking forked into two different paths. Left and right. We stopped and I immediately began to think of what path to choose. I didn't even notice that Dominic was facing the other way looking at something until he whispered to me, "There's an Aron behind you. You wanna catch it?"

    I turned around to see a small, silver-and-gray, four-legged Pokemon. I could have identified it without Dominic saying its name. Its pale blue eyes were locked on us. Its armor seemed to reflect the heat of the area and I could see the heat waves radiating off of it.

    I shake my head. "Nah, its a great Pokemon, but I just don't see when I'd ever use it. Let's try to get away, if all else fails, I'll shell out the cash for a Pokedoll."

    "Nah, its a great Pokemon, but I just don't see when I'd ever use it," Halas said quietly, shaking his head. "Let's try to get away, if all else fails, I'll shell out the cash for a Pokedoll."

    I nodded. My own Aggron didn't come out of his Pokeball too often, something I wanted to change.

    "I think it's gonna leave us alone," I told the Trainer. "That Pokemon seems curious, by nature. It'll wander off when it's done."

    I turned around and, remembering that we were at a fork in the road, pulled out a coin. I flipped it, letting it sail through the mountain air, end over end. I caught it. Heads. The right fork it was, then. I looked up at my choice. It was dark, but that wouldn't be too much of a problem. Lots of Pokemon preferred the warmer depths of the mountain, anyways.

    "We'll be going into the Mountain, if you don't mind." I said to Halas.

    I motioned for him to follow me and we walked inside the cave. As we went inside, I noticed the Aron quietly peal off and wander away. I nodded to myself, it had done what I thought it would do. Inside the cave, the temperature immediately soared, as well as the humidity. It wasn't usually this hot. I'd been here many times, escorting Trainers. We went through this area with no problems, normally. The volcano must've been acting up again, the carvern floor was unusually warm. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.

    "If it starts getting too hot for you," I shouted back to Halas, "then we can turn around and go back the other way."

    As we walked further into the cave, I noticed a peculiar natural phenomenon. The cave walls themselves seemed to be sweating. Water was condensing on the cool, cave ceiling where it collected, occasionally dripping down and evaporating just above the floor. The vapor then condensed again, repeating the process. The resulting combination of warm mist and chilled water dripping from above made it slightly less uncomfortable in the area. I pointed it out to Halas. Things like this don't usually happen.

    Then, I noticed something. There was a pool of this heated water, where the drops had kept collecting until they couldn't evaporate fast enough. It was a kind of hot spring. Very popular among certain Pokemon. I looked closer, and saw a small, green Pokemon. The tusks gave it away. It was an Axew.

    "You want to catch that Axew?" I asked Halas.

    @GliscorMan;

    My ranger nodded. "I think it's gonna leave us alone. That Pokemon seems curious, by nature. It'll wander off when it's done."

    He then flipped a coin, I couldn't see what the outcome was, but it seemed to decide which path we took. I saw him look to the path on the right, inside was dark. A warm breeze was escaping the tunnel and I knew I would have to take off my jacket at the very least, but then again, there could be a bounty of Pokemon in there.

    "We'll be going into the Mountain, if you don't mind." Dominic spoke to me.

    The Aron still hadn't left, but once we began to enter the cave, it walked away to do something else. My ranger nodded, his prediction was accurate and saved me some money. The temperature in the cave rose quickly and I was building up a steady sweat. The humidity didn't help that much either.

    "If it starts getting too hot for you, then we can turn around and go back the other way." Dominic yelled back to me.

    I quickly set Veevee on the ground and took off my jacket and sweatpants. The leg of my pants got stuck on my shoe and I struggled to get it off. Hopefully my ranger didn't see that. I stuffed the extra clothes into my bag and quickly returned my Eevee back to its Pokeball. As I increase my speed to catch up to Dominic I place Veevee's ball back on my belt and brush off hairs from my clothes.

    I don't think he noticed that I fell behind slightly. Good. That was mildly embarrassing. I once again regained my place right behind my ranger and he stopped and appeared to look at the walls of the cave. I also looked at them.

    The walls seemed to be leaking moisture, almost as if they were sweating. I didn't understand what was happening, but Dominic explained it to me. Apparently, water collects on the ceiling and falls down, but before it can get to the ground, it evaporates and collects on the ceiling again. Sounds pretty cool.

    I was still admiring the cycle when my ranger said, "You want to catch that Axew?"

    I saw him pointing to a pool of water on the floor and then saw the Pokemon. Green with large ax-like, tusks, Axew sat there like it owned the pool. The water seemed to be heated and comfortable, almost like a hot tub or something.

    "Once again, no. Haxorus is a brute, but I don't think I have a use for it. If needed I can just buy a Pokedoll or something." I replied.

    I reached into my bag and pulled out a device that can replay Pokemon voices. The Pokeplayer. I then grab a disk I had purchased before this run and placed it in the player and begin to play the disk. Hopefully, Litwicks will hear this and come to us.

    "Once again, no. Haxorus is a brute, but I don't think I have a use for it. If needed I can just buy a Pokedoll or something." Halas replied.

    I nodded. Axew and their evolutions were powerful Pokemon and widely used, but they could be found easily. Not something that many people would want to put effort into, especially if it meant endangering their Pokemon. Instead of asking me to turn around, as I had expected, I noticed that Halas had quickly discarded his sweat clothes and had stuffed them into his pack. So that was what the brief ruckus behind me had been.

    He rummaged around inside his backpack and pulled out a Pokeplayer, along with a Voice Disc. He slid the disc into the machine and hit the play button. Almost immediately, an erie sound washed over out ears. My Gliscor, along with Halas's Eevee, seemed nervous. Litwick were powerful, feared Pokemon. The sounds echoed throughout the caves, bouncing off walls and the floor. The Axew nearly jumped out of its skin and, with a splash of hot water, dashed through a small crack in the wall and out of sight.

    After a little while of these unsettling sounds, I motioned for Halas to stop the recording. It was obvious there weren't any Litwick in the area, or they didn't want to come just yet.

    "There's an exit over here," I told him.

    We began to walk in the direction I motioned. The caves started to grow a more steady incline, small rivers of water heated by the volcano below us pouring down the slope in little, worn channels. Caves were always cool that way, especially the ones in the volcanic Mt Deckbi. The exit was just ahead, the blue sky and sunshine clearly visible through the gloom, but I stopped suddenly. I had noticed something.

    On the ground, one of the rocks was not a rock. It moved a little bit, then poked its head outside its shell. It looked like a turtle whose shell had been replaced by a fiery volcanic rock. It spouted a small amount of steam from its back: a cooling mechanism.

    "Hey Halas," I asked. "Want to capture a Torkoal?"

    @GliscorMan;

    Once I pressed the play button on the Pokeplayer, the cries of a Litwick flooded the surrounding area. Dominic's Gliscor and Veevee were immediately uncomfortable with the loud shrieks, I can't say I don't blame them. Even the Axew in the small, hot-tub-like pool of water feared the call and jumped out of the water and ran to a small crack in the wall, out of our line of sights. It just occurred to me how fearsome these creatures were and how I would kill to get my hands on these power-packed candles.

    Dominic soon motioned for me to stop the recording, for there seems to be a lacking of Litwick around here. Afterwords, he pointed to a cave which appeared to show a large incline. "There's an exit over here," He said.

    Following that short dialect, he led us to the cave and my eyes did not deceive me, the slope grew drastically. Along the path, eroded canals allowed heated water to flow freely down the cave's floor. A bright light began to appear up ahead, perhaps the exit?

    I didn't realize that my ranger had stopped until I almost walked right into him. While recovering my footing, he questioned me, "Hey Halas, want to capture a Torkoal?"

    I quickly looked around for the tortoise-like Pokemon, but failed to see it until it moved slowly. Its eyes were shut tightly, as most Torkoal's eyes are, and steam bellowed out of its nostrils and back. The red-and-brown tortoise looked at me as if to see if I were worthy enough to challenge it. Out of my back pocket, I grabbed my Pokedex, just to see what this guy can do.

    Torkoal, the Coal Pokémon. Torkoal burns coal within its body to produce energy. As a defense, Torkoal is able to smoke from its nostrils and its back to confuse enemies. The blue box said to me. I did a quick nod.

    "No, although there is probably a great use for him," I said. "I doubt he'd ever see the light of day after I catch him. I'd prefer for it to stay here and be able to do whatever it wanted, whenever it wanted. Let's see if we can get around it, if not, I'll use a Pokedoll."

    I, once again, reached into my bag and pulled out the Pokeplayer and readied it to use after we got away from the turtle. I could feel that this time would be different after I pressed the play button.

    ((Wow, almost a month. Sorry, been busy... @Zolar;))

    Halas looked around, trying to find the Torkoal. When it moved, giving away its position, the Trainer seemed a little unsure. He looked over at me, then at the coal-powered tortoise, then back at me. Then at his Pokedex and at the Torkoal again. He listened to what his Pokedex had to say, then nodded. For a second, I thought he was going initiate a battle. Then, he turned back to face me.

    "No, although there is probably a great use for him," he told me. "I doubt he'd ever see the light of day after I catch him. I'd prefer for it to stay here and be able to do whatever it wanted, whenever it wanted. Let's see if we can get around it, if not, I'll use a Pokedoll."

    I nodded. While many Pokemon Collectors would've nabbed the semi-rare Pokemon on the spot, it seemed that Halas was more noble than that. Good, I couldn't stand most Collectors, partially because the Pokemon were never used, never taken out anywhere. Partially because I treated my Pokemon almost like I'd treat a real person. They have their own feelings and personalities, after all.

    I motioned for Halas to follow me, and I pointed towards the exit. I didn't want to wake the Torkoal, no matter how deep in it's sleep it seemed. I quietly walked across the cavern floor, scorching hot as it seemed, and expected Halas to follow me. However, that wasn't quite what happened. Instead, as soon as I turned my back, a loud, eerie screeching noise echoed throughout the cave, reverberating off the walls, ceiling and floor. I couldn't tell where it was coming from. My Gliscor, in a bit of a panic that he didn't know what was happening, dove upwards into the ceiling, burrowing in with a Dig attack. I whirled around, and saw Halas. He was still holding the Pokeplayer, and had pressed the play button.

    I resisted the urge to facepalm. I froze, trying to see if the Torkoal had woken up, or if another Pokemon would hear the recorded cry of the Litwick and wander over. When nothing happened, I wiped the sweat off my brow.

    "Careful, next time," I cautioned him.

    Slightly relieved that we wouldn't have a battle just yet, I heard a rumbling above us. My friend, Gliscor, cannonballed out of the ceiling with a crash of shattering volcanic rock. Just seconds behind him, another Pokemon rushed out. It was almost exactly the same as Gliscor, just smaller and a slightly lighter color. A Gligar. Apparently Gliscor had jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. The small FlyScorp was very, very angry. The Torkoal still hadn't woken up.

    "Halas, you want that Gligar?" I asked nervously.

    OOC: No biggy, I'm pretty much in the same position. @GliscorMan;

    With a quick motion of his hand, my Ranger wanted me to follow him. That, of course, was right after I had pressed the 'Play' button on my PokePlayer and released the horrid screams of a Litwick. Being unprepared, Dominic and his Gliscor were frightened, Gliscor even went so far as burrowing into the ceiling.

    The Ranger looked from the Torkoal to me quickly. He wiped the back of his hand on his forehead. "Careful, next time," He said in a hushed tone, trying not to wake the sleeping, tortoise-like Pokemon.

    While I made sure that the Torkoal was still asleep, Dominic's Gliscor fell from the ceiling very aggressively. It was almost as if something had forced it out. The silent predator lay in a pile of rock, clearly dazed from the fall. A wicked hiss escaped the hole as a smaller, purple, flying scorpion zoomed out of the tunnel. I immediately recognized the Pokemon as a Gligar, for I have owned it and its evolved form for a while. The expression on its face was one of anger.

    Almost hesitantly, my Ranger asked me, "Halas, you want that Gligar?"

    I stared into the eyes of the creature, sizing it up. A million different thoughts flowed through my head while thinking about this decision. One was the thought of having two Gliscors. They were powerful Pokemon and when used correctly, can mean sure destruction of the opponent's team. Then again, why would I need a second? What would be the use of having two if chances are that I would only use my first one? This seemed highly unfair to the enraged FlyScorp.

    I scratched the back of my head. "I already have a Gliscor and having two of the same Pokemon seems very unethical if one would be able to battle more than the other. I'm going to have to leave this guy here so he can keep doing what he does best. If we need to, I'll buy a Pokedoll to escape."

    As I pointed out the Gliscor to Halas, I could almost see the million thoughts rushing through his head at once. I had a suspicion that this was the one event he hadn't anticipated, finding a Gligar here.

    Gligar, which evolved into Gliscor, was one of the most powerful (and I like to think awesome) Pokemon in the world. It's range of uses are incredible. As I like to joke with my Gliscor, the only thing it can't do is Fly. However, I had taken the liberty of looking into Zolar's PC file before leaving to travel to the mountain. Halas already owned one. Judging from his reaction to the Torkoal, I had a hunch about how he'd handle this. Either way, it would be interesting.

    "I already have a Gliscor," he said, scratching the back of his head nervously. "And having two of the same Pokemon seems very unethical if one would be able to battle more than the other. I'm going to have to leave this guy here so he can keep doing what he does best. If we need to, I'll buy a Pokedoll to escape."

    I nodded. It was very honorable, leaving a creature in it's natural environment. Especially when you would never use it, anyways. Now, the only problem was to see if the Gligar would calm down enough to go away.

    In a split second, the Gligar did several things at once. It whipped around at the sound of Halas's voice and let out a small shriek. It immediately launched itself back into the ceiling, sealing off the pathway my Gliscor had dug with a shower of dirt.

    I shrugged. Maybe the Gligar got scared away by the two Pokemon and two Trainers standing in front of it. Who can say with wild Pokemon?

    I motioned for the Trainer to follow me, out the tunnel ahead. We made it outside with no incident, which was good. Had that Torkoal woken up, it might be angry that we had disturbed its resting place.

    The path branched in two ways. One lead down the side of the mountain, another up. I looked both ways, almost as if I were crossing a street. I heard a smash and quickly glanced back to my right, down the slope. There was a Pokemon down there, smashing rocks. It was a Monferno, training its powerful punches.

    "You want that Monferno?" I asked Halas.

    OOC: @GliscorMan;

    After hearing what I had to say about dealing with the Gligar on my hands, Dominic did a quick nod. The Gligar looked at me, screamed for some odd reason and dove back into its hole. It then covered the hole back up with some dirt, never to be seen by me again. That really confused me, but at least I didn't have to spend my money to get away from it. Anyways, it would be happier up in there then crammed into a Pokeball all the time.

    I was actually quite happy that my Eevee wasn't out of its ball to hear that shriek. Without a doubt, it would have become distressed and that is no fun to have to deal with. Eevees tend to be a little, emotional, so to speak, about things that surprise them or scare them. Many times, this has caused me trouble, especially when it comes down to being sneaky and something scares Veevee.

    Dominic motioned for me to follow, and so I did. The Torkoal slept soundly to the left of us. Somehow, the scream of Gligar didn't wake it up. If only I could sleep like that thing, I would be one happy camper. We crept through the tunnel and finally made it outside once again.

    We stood on a small opening with two paths on either side. One appeared to lead up the mountain and the other appeared to go down it. I was curious on which path that Dominic would take me down, but he stopped. I looked where he was looking and saw a red monkey punching some rocks. It was doing all it could to break every rock around it. I immediately knew what it was from the second I saw it. It was the evolution of Chimchar; Monferno.

    "You want that Monferno?" Dominic asked.

    "No thanks, I don't really have the need for it. Let's try to get away from it. If that doesn't work, I'd gladly pay the money to let it be." I responded to the Ranger.

    The two of us and out two Pokemon looked down at the Monferno as it worked out.

    "No thanks," Halas responded. "I don't really have the need for it. Let's try to get away from it. If that doesn't work, I'd gladly pay the money to let it be."

    "All right," I replied. "Let's see if we can go up the path, in the opposite direction. That way, we can avoid it."

    Our little company of four made its way up the slope, away from the Fighting-type Pokemon. Luckily for us, it seemed too focused on smashing things to notice us. We were able to travel the path with little incident.

    One thing I noticed, however, was that, as we traveled farther up the mountain, the wind began to blow harder, faster and more often. It was an entirely natural phenomenon, due to the magnificent height the volcano reached at the summit. We must have made a good deal of progress towards the top. We neared a small flat area, kind of like a landing on a staircase, where I decided that we should stop for a brief rest. The lighter mountain air often made travelers tire faster. Halas didn't seem too worn out, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

    The scenery was wonderful. From our cliff-face perch on the side of the mountain, we could see a panoramic view of the almost the entire park. I almost thought I could see the main park entrance, but my eyes were probably playing tricks on me.

    Suddenly, a gust of wind blew. My Gliscor, still flying about us, was carried up by the current towards the top of the mountain. For a second, I thought he let out a nervous shriek. But the tone wasn't right. In fact, the entire cry wasn't right. I looked around quickly, and noticed a small bird-like Pokemon sitting in a tree. It had been battered about just a second ago by the same wind that had carried my Gliscor off.

    I looked around for my pal, but I couldn't make out his purple coloring from where we were. He was probably fine, anyways. This was his home front, after all. I shrugged and looked back at the Pokemon sitting in the tree, then to the Trainer.

    "Want that Rufflet?" I asked.
