Alpha held up a small piece of paper in front of his face. "Brooklyn," he read what was written on the paper. His right hand rested below his head, he was lying down on the soft moist grass outside the ranger outpost. He was already changed to his ranger outfit, and he already needed to wait for the trainer to pass by in his face and say "Hey, I'm your trainer."

"Man, this is boring." Alpha got up quickly and stared intently at the clear blue sky. Dozens of Flying-typed Pokemon soared high in the sky, freely to move on their own and went to wherever they wanted to go. Behind the birds were thin cirrus clouds that spiraled at a center point in the sky. "Beautiful," Alpha whispered to himself.

Alpha tried to reminisce the past; the times where he took different kinds of trainers, experienced different kinds of adventures, encountered different kinds of Pokemon, and sometimes he even made friends with the trainer that he escorted. One thing he liked to do as a ranger was to give advices to trainers, especially new ones, in case they would encounter an incredibly strong Pokemon. There had been cases that the trainer acted wrong because they forgot to put their Pokemon's nature into priority before attacking. Result? Some commands the trainer made were ignored by their Pokemon and proceeded to either attacking on their own, or skipping the attack at all.

"Alpha, do you hear me?" a voice broke Alpha's daydreams. He grabbed his cellphone and knew that a voice message interrupted him at that instant. "I repeat: Alpha, do you hear me?" the voice said it again.

"Yeah, I hear you. I know the routine already. I'll PM you once the trainer gets here." Alpha turned off his phone and laid his body down on the grassy fields outside the ranger outpost again, continuing to wait for the trainer.

    Brooklyn Meets Alpha!

A fair, cool skinned girl with burgundy colored hair and hazel eyes, walked the grounds that led to her destination. More so to speak, a destination that was planned earlier on. One that she had been more than eager to look forward to. Both of her arms held a Larvitar, who wasn't too happy to be where he was. "Isn't it beautiful, Larvitar?" Brooklyn said in awe, she let out a small chuckle. "I told you today was going to be a beautiful day, but I guess that ruins the moment, huh?" She murmured to the small green Pokemon. Yesterday, Brooklyn prepared herself for this moment. Electivire may have shook his head unconvinced and Arcanine may have turned his head, but today would be fun.

"Lar!" Larvitar crossed his arms and turned his head. He wasn't too happy to be here. His arms uncrossed and flailed. It was the only way to keep this girl on track. When Brooklyn noticed Larvitar flail, it finally clicked for her.

"Oh! Right!" Brooklyn said and chuckled, "My bad, I'm getting off track, we can't keep our ranger waiting." The young trainer continued down the path on the way to the ranger outpost. Her hazel eyes continued to hopelessly linger to the side. It really was a beautiful day. The sun was set perfect it seemed. From here, maybe she could even spot the destination she'll arrive at. The idea just made her anticipate today's course of events.

On her arrival to fields outside the outpost, Brooklyn stared as if to look for someone. Was she too early? Wait, did she make her ranger wait? How couldn't he wait any longer?! The nerve of people! Her train of thoughts ended when Larvitar managed to squeeze himself out of her arms. "Lar!" Larvitar pointed a direction and Brooklyn stepped up next to Larvitar. Oh, might help if she looked around her a bit.

"Thank you Larvitar," Brooklyn smiled down to him, "Who knows what would happen to me if a cute little guy like you weren't around." Her smile dropped and she continued closer to the fields outside the ranger outpost until she saw someone. A person in ranger gear outside the ranger outpost. Her ranger! "Hey, I'm your trainer!" Brooklyn stated, Larvitar stared to Brooklyn cautiously.

The sun was instantly blocked when a small figure of a girl approached Alpha while he was resting his back on the grassy fields outside the ranger outpost. "Hey, I'm your trainer!" she happily said. Beside her--Alpha couldn't picture out clearly what it was--was a small Pokemon, a dark green one, with a small horn above its head.

"What?" Alpha got up as soon as the trainer greeted him. He rubbed his palms on his eyes, as if he was surprised to see who the person was. "You must be the trainer I am waiting for. Hello, I'm Alpha." He extended his right hand out towards the girl, but she wasn't grabbing it. He raised his hand even more and scratched the back of his head so that it would look like nothing happened. For this moment, Alpha had decided to forget about his ranger official for a while and proceed to escorting the ranger to her outpost immediately.

Taking few steps, he went inside the large gray buildings of the ranger outpost. A metal gate clicked open and it went upward. Inside the gate was a icy blue motorcycle with a cart connected to it, which was also icy blue. Streaks of darker blue, periwinkle to be exact, touched the vehicle's engines and shiny metal covers of the vehicle. "Step in." Alpha climbed towards the driver's seat and he began to pat the guest's seat twice. Eventually, the trainer got up on the seat as Alpha began to drive the vehicle towards the Botanic Garden.

The trip towards the gardens was astounding, they went to the right side of the ranger outpost. Both of them past the tall pillars that the trainers would step on at the Outer Heaven, fighting bird-typed Pokemon. To their left was a large group of mountains that was supported by the moonlight, the Meteor Valley. Then the next view on their right was the large laboratory-like building which was the Abandoned Power Plant. Eventually they got at the place where small plants sprouted from brown vases. There were stone pillars that rose beside the vases and bushes.

"Well, here we are, the Botanic Garden." Alpha threw his hand sideways, as if he was making a grand speech in a movie. Seconds later a dark-colored Pokemon with leaves that were twice the large of the Pokemon's body approached the trainer. "Wow, an Oddish, it's your first encounter! Are you going to battle it?" Alpha added.

    Larvitar vs. Oddish (.1)

Brooklyn stood her ground in front of the person she suspected to be her ranger. The clothes this guy was wearing was the blunt hint in order to identify him as a ranger. Her body blocked out the sun and left her shadow to engulf the small patch of field. Was this guy going to respond? Her arms crossed and she decided to duke it out patiently. She'd give him a fuss later on their way to Botanic Gardens anyways. Near her ankle, Larvitar made sure he knew what all was going on. His red eyes peered towards his trainer. Then he transferred his gaze to the ranger. "Larvitar," Larvitar spoke.

"What?" Alpha got up as soon as the trainer greeted him. He rubbed his palms on his eyes, as if he was surprised to see who the person was. "You must be the trainer I am waiting for. Hello, I'm Alpha." He extended his right hand out towards the girl. Brooklyn crossed her arms unconvinced that this guy here would be her ranger. She paid good money and this was the guy that was assigned? He'd best be lucky that she was going to try to back off on account that it was her first time doing this. Her dark hazel eyes blinked and she stared to the hand. She wasn't going to grab it. He raised his hand even more and scratched the back of his head so that it would look like nothing happened.

"Um...what are you doing?" Brooklyn asked. She decided to be blunt and stick it out there on the awkward attempt at his hand shake. "Forget it," she murmured and turned on her heel to her side. "Just lead the way, come on Larvitar," Brooklyn directed. The dark green armored Pokemon dropped his gaze from the ranger named Alpha. She followed this guy named Alpha to a large gray building. Larvitar tilted his head up as he walked. He awed to the icy blue motorcycle that was revealed when the metal gate opened. Carefully he stepped in and reached his arms over. It was his desire to touch it and discover what this peculiar object was. "At least with this ride, we'll get somewhere," Brooklyn said with a small smile.

"Step in." Alpha climbed towards the driver's seat and he began to pat the guest's seat twice. The burgundy haired girl shook her head to his gesture. She bent down to grab Larvitar with her hands from the ground and then settled in the cart. The small, dark green Pokemon's attention was taken when the ride started. Their motor ride across the ranger post was awe-inspiring. One of these days, he'd be a Tyranitar that would rule these lands.

"Laaar," Larvitar let out a cry to show he was pleased to see what would be in store for him. But the more Pokemon he saw and the multiple cries that were heard, the better pumped he was. Actually, the better definition would be that he didn't enjoy hearing all of these cries. "Larvitar!" Larvitar cried out to the Outer Heaven. Just wait, he'd be there some day, he'd show them! He'd show all of them! Brooklyn decided to let Larvitar run his natural course. He would always be wounded up by the slightest thing. Whether it be his own demise or a simple object, he would act out with not that much thought to it.

"It really is a beautiful day," Brooklyn concluded and turned her gaze away, "Are we going to get there anytime soon?" This was her money on their time together. When their arrival did come, she was finally pleased to be where she was. "Thank you, Alpha," Brooklyn stated, "I guess some things can't be helped." Her shoulders shrugged and she turned her attention to Botanic Garden. She didn't pay that much attention to Alpha, but more so to the Pokemon that was about to encounter her. It was a small, plant-like Pokemon. Its body that was smaller than the plants that made up for the rest of its head. The dark colored Pokemon could pass off undistinguished to that of a regular plant. "Oh my goodness, it's an Oddish, it looks just as cute as you do, Alpha!" Brooklyn exclaimed. Did she want to battle it?

Larvitar took the initiative to any Pokemon he comes across to take a step forward. He glanced and over-looked this Pokemon who stood before him. "Larvitar!" Larvitar called out and squeezed out of Brooklyn's arms. His body casually dropped down to the ground on his feet.

"Larvitar, I take it you want to battle him?" Brooklyn asked, but it was a rhetorical question. She sweat-dropped to him and his actions. He always went ahead to make a move so suddenly out of the blue. It was then she begun to give it an order. However, the sand around them started to gather rapidly. Did he already pull off a move without her say? "Larvitar, you don't do anything unless I tell you to," Brooklyn scolded and sighed. It was no use, he started the sandstorm, so they might as well see it through to the end of its course. " Fine, go ahead with a sandstorm," Brooklyn said and crossed her arms. The wind doubled its power to scoop up all the sand within their path. When the sand they needed began to pick up, it started to blow uncontrollably around them. It left no effect to Larvitar who was prepared to attempt another move. Her arms loosen and Brooklyn wanted to try to command a move that could help them. "Wait! Scary Face, Larvitar," Brooklyn called out. She demanded that he go ahead and take care of Oddish's speed.

"Lar!" Larvitar jolted in his spot. He had finally noticed that Brooklyn was there. He turned to face Brooklyn and nodded. When he returned to face where he hoped the Oddish was, he started to perform the command his trainer called out. His eyes began to glow it seemed. No, it was an illusion as a purple blotch created a not-so friendly face. There was only a 90% chance that this scary face would have an effect. Brooklyn prayed it did and raised her right arm a bit. The sand was really picking up. It was only her hope that she will be able to continue to detect where Larvitar was. The sandstorm was an abyss of powerful winds. Any chance to see through it was vivid, tan colored dust that arise in the air. The pressure made the detached sand move through the winds every whim. Brooklyn, who was as close as she was, was caught in the bits and pieces. Her hair that was untouched was now dancing within the outer levels of the storm's power. But her hazel eyes continued to stay open, she wanted to see this battle to the end.

    Oddish BP#1

"Oh my goodness, it's an Oddish, it looks just as cute as you do, Alpha!" Brooklyn just had to comment.

For a second back there, Alpha's expression could be 'you said what now?' because of the mushy comments made by the trainer. Alpha needed to be nice, he pretended like he hadn't heard a thing and proceeded to watch as Brooklyn decided to battle Oddish.

Her hasty Larvitar just had to prove its nature--it went directly into attacking Oddish without saying a word. "Fine, go ahead with a Sandstorm." Alpha could see the disappointment in Brooklyn's expression, but she knew to care for her Larvitar deeply, so she continued to watch Larvitar. It extended its arms widely and began to spin in a quick manner, particles of dust on the ground was forming a tornado around Larvitar. Eventually, the Sandstorm got bigger and slapped Oddish in the face with its immense strength. "Wait! Scary Face, Larvitar." Brooklyn failed to cancel Sandstorm's execution.

"Uhh.. why am I getting the feeling that's somehow wrong?" Alpha crossed his arms and wondered.

Oddish knew this was the time to counterattack. It closed its eyes as the leaves on its head brightened and formed a small white sphere until it got larger and larger. While preparing for the Solarbeam attack, Larvitar got impatient and skipped using Scary Face and proceeded to a damaging one. "Lar!" running closer towards Oddish, it landed a decent bite on its body, then tossing it to one side of the gardens.

"Please take note of your Pokemon's nature," Alpha informed Brooklyn as Oddish released the Solarbeam towards Larvitar, sending it off to a large stone pillar that stood from the ground.

    Larvitar vs. Oddish (.2)

Whatever comment that would ever fly out of this young girl's mouth, would whip pass her. It was normal for her to say something and then move on without a recall on what just happened. Fact was, there was this really cute Oddish. The small blue bodied creature was there to stand his ground and battle back. What were some of the best parts of an Oddish? There were many that could be pointed out here by the red haired girl. This seemed more so to be a male Oddish. It would fit well into her group of male Pokemon. She was going to work hard to try and catch this little, adorable creature! That would be if she could do her best to make Larvitar withstand his own pride as a Pokemon. It was more than pride, really. It was his nature that helped to make him who he was.

"A Sandstorm will at least provide us a cloud to land on if all fails with any of your attacks," Brooklyn said with a small smile. It was the best she could make out of it. May not be best to try to speak. Yes, this sandstorm was all in a tunnel of its own demise. Any inch closer and she may as well join a spin around the ground. That wasn't something she was willing to afford with how much time she worked on herself this morning! The storm took its natural course and did what it was meant to: inflict pain on the opponent. A couple seconds later, the storm sweeped over the body that belonged to the plant-like Pokemon, Oddish. Mentally, Brooklyn had to wince because that sandstorm and how it reacted to Oddish, didn't seem so friendly. It was in the hope that with a scary face, that the speed in Oddish could be reduced in order to allow her a chance to attack again. What she did know as that in the sun, it was a source provider for any grass Pokemon.

"Uhh.. why am I getting the feeling that's somehow wrong?" Alpha crossed his arms and wondered. The call on the scary face ended horribly. It was not possible and it was not the type of stress that was best to infringe on any Pokemon. They possessed these powers, but they had their limits. Pokemon can only multitask to a certain point. Usually it was the Pokemon's own will that overpowered the commands/demands that are given directly from their owners. "It's OK Larvitar, hang in there, be ready," Brooklyn encouraged. She really hoped that her Larvitar would be alright. Was this really her battle to have a say? Or was it just Larvitar and how he was always so hasty? She was facing a dilemma. Should she look into capturing the Oddish and making Larvitar outright mad? Or should she not capture this amazingly, adorable Pokemon and make her Larvitar happy? It would make him content to do one thing when he wasn't too eager to join the small party this morning for a fun-filled day. There was his pride and ego though that did make her think again. Her focus was caught on the Oddish when she saw a small light start to show through the rapid winds.

"Is that, oh no," she whispered lowly. "Larvitar be ready!" Brooklyn cried out to Larvitar. The earthly storm made the Oddish's power up stick out like a sore thumb. She had to think something fast. While it was charging up, they had a chance to send an attack! Down there in the battle field Larvitar stood. He was wanting to do his own thing still. This Oddish was still freaking standing! NO! "Lar-vitar!" Larvitar stomped his feet. He wanted this Oddish down on the ground! Why wasn't it going down!? "Quick, try and use bite!" Brooklyn shouted. It was in that moment, Larvitar was already planning to use that attack. He was so close too! The Pokemon that was uneffected by the sandstorm went after his opponent. It was there he opened his mouth to prepare a bite. His teeth grasped barely onto Oddish. Once bitten, the Oddish was quickly thrown aside. The grass/poison typed Pokemon was still in the air, but it was there that a powerful light was released. A not-so friendly one either, one that Larvitar hated with all his might.

The solar beam was fully charged. Oddish didn't back down when he sent that beam of light that surfaced the land before all of them. Below it the earth surface cracked as it pushed Larvitar until he hit something solid. "Please take note of your Pokemon's nature," Alpha informed. There was this rather big piller that Larvitar landed at. Yeah, she considered Larvitar's nature. He was hasty, which meant his speed was better than his defense. But what was it that Alpha may have been telling her specifically to note about it? The speed based on his ability to react and perform attacks? They weren't the best and they were usually performed without seconds to think. The perfect example was that bite that Oddish took. Smack-down and sloppy. Strangely, she found herself doing that sometimes. Talk about Pokemon reflecting their trainers, huh?

Larvitar still stood there against the stone pillar. He huffed a bit and knew at least his energy was better than Oddish. Then it snapped. An angry mark was left on its head. He pointed his paw toward the Oddish and cried out to it. "Larvitar, quit arguing!" Brooklyn argued, but that just caused her to add fuel to the flame. The small, dark green Pokemon with a horn on his head jumped in place. He then pointed a paw at Brooklyn and yelled. "Well this wouldn't have happened if you'd listen to me more than going off on your own calls!" Brooklyn shouted back, "Dang it Larvitar! Just use crunch already! I'm not your opponent, Oddish is, and I want him!" Larvitar turned his head disapprovingly. "W-What!?" She was frustrated right now. He turned and faced Oddish.

Near his mouth a slight gas-like substance began to drift away. He pulled back his shoulders and as he ran towards the Oddish, he prepared to hit him with a dark pulse. It had the same strength as crunch. This battle would not be over until this Oddish was down! "Larvi," Larvitar began as he was more than willing to go through with this move. He released these pulses of darkness that aimed where Oddish was. This ring of darkness pulsed and followed behind the residue that was part of it. There was an ominous beauty to this dark type of an attack. "Tar!" The cries he let out along with his attack were only a couple mere words to make Oddish pay for that solarbeam. He wasn't going to be beaten by this puny, little Pokemon. End of story.

What was going on in Larvitar's head, was different from Brooklyn's sentiment. To a point. They both desired to battle this Oddish. For her, it was to be able to catch him. He was what her team needed. Also, he was quite adorable. All her Pokemon however, were very much high in being appealing to this new trainer. But here for Larvitar, wherever he went, he wanted to proof himself. It didn't make sense to him that this Oddish was standing right here, right now. What was so great about this specie anyways? He was just was great. Surely, he could out stand these Pokemon. First, this Oddish needed to stop standing!

"At first, he didn't even want to come here," Brooklyn sighed, "But now he's battling without listening to me." Yeah, she had pulled her mistakes and will in the future. Now it was time to know that they were still flourishing and Larvitar was going to make his fair share of mistakes. "He's not attacking me compared to one of my other Pokemon at least," she chuckled. She was trying to look at the bright side, "Err..." she stared to Alpha, "Not that it's a good if he were to attack you or anything!" Her stare shifted away and she rubbed the back of her head. "Ha, ha," she let out an awkward chuckle. The laugh was dropped and so was her arm. Brooklyn returned her attention back to the field to anticipate Oddish and whatever counter-attack he will pull. "Larvitar, careful, watch for Oddish and his next move, be ready to react!" Brooklyn called out, it was the best thing she could do right now. To her surprise, Larvitar shifted to face Oddish fully and nodded his head. He cried back, "Lar!"

He replied! So, he does listen! OK, he doesn't listen HALF the time. More than that he doesn't listen. But still, he listened and at least he did for support. That's all that mostly mattered, right? "He listened," Brooklyn exclaimed, "There's still some hope this could play out well, not that I doubted you one bit Larvitar!" Now, what would make him listen to a command of an attack? She wondered.

OOC: Wow, you sure love to post, huh? :D

    IC:

"Dang it Larvitar! Just use crunch already! I'm not your opponent, Oddish is, and I want him!" Brooklyn wasn't currenly happy on what she was seeing, it was Larvitar and its disappointments towards its trainer--Brooklyn was not to blame, for sure. She wasn't really used to this kind of battling, this was her first time inside the park. But for a beginner, she was doing a pretty decent job. "W-What!?" She was frustraded because Larvitar shook its head disapprovingly. Suddenly, Larvitar's attention was diverted back towards Oddish, looking as ready as ever to make and take more hits.

"Is Larvitar.. using Dark Pulse!?" Alpha's eyes widened.

Larvitar opened its mouth, a small puff of black smoke spiraled its way towards its mouth, a black ball was also starting to form in front of Larvitar. "Larvitar!" it shouted out loud, releasing the Dark Pulse towards the dumbfounded Oddish. Oddish's eyes widened, fascinated as it glanced at the immense energy of darkness came closer to it. Eventually it tossed Larvitar back to the other side of the field, hitting its back with a small stone pillar that rose above the ground.

"At first, he didn't even want to come here," Brooklyn sighed. "But now he's battling without listening to me." She told the story to Alpha, who was intently listening. "He's not attacking me compared to one of my other Pokemon at least," Brooklyn chuckled. "Not that it's a good if he were to attack you or anything!" She knew Alpha was listening, she diverted her attention back to Larvitar.

On the other side of the field, Oddish remained to stay strong and firm, ready to attack Larvitar with full force. It ran towards Larvitar and made a few swings using the leaves on its head. A few small razor leaves came out from Oddish's leaves, which was aimed directly at Larvitar. Now it was Larvitar's turn to be tossed towards Brooklyn--but it went towards Alpha.

"Whoa!" Alpha extended its arms widely to catch Larvitar.
