The electric fans were all turned on, full blast - set at the highest power level of three. The windows were all open, allowing the sun's radiant rays to seep in. The door of the Ranger Outpost was wide open, too, letting the rather warm air of the outdoors to flow in. It was definitely a warm day today; the weather hot and dry.

The rangers all sat together on the usually comfy couches in the common area. They were fanning themselves with whatever item or material they had available.

"I'm glad the trainers chose this day to keep away from the park. It's just simply too hot out there," Cameron Gray, or Leo as we call him, said with a dramatic sigh of relief. We nodded, agreeing. Who, in the right mind, would want to go out in such uncomfortable circumstances?

"Oh, well, I'm glad you brought that up - else I would've forgotten." The receptionist came out from behind the silver counter, and walked to us as she held a brown-colored. folder.

We glanced at each other immediately, knowing full well what was inside the folder. I groaned in protest, and the other rangers followed soon after.

"The name's Brooklyn, going to the Woods," she began with a rather stern-sounding voice. "One of you has got to take her there."

"Too hot out there," Jay complained, while Joe and Jack nodded their agreement.

"I'll take her," I volunteered after everyone else declined.

"What? You're actually going out there?!" Leo exclaimed in disbelief as I slowly rose to my feet.

"Yeah, why not? It's the Woods - one of the zones that isn't explored very often," I replied with a shrug. "Besides, the trees there should be tall and big enough to shade us from the sun - at least, most of the time. If it was one of the mountains, I wouldn't go there either."

I looked at the other two rangers, James (aka. Chainy) and Ivy, to see what they thought. Ivy gave me a smile of encouragement, causing me to grin.

"Go on, Elisa," he said. It always made me feel great whenever I heard words of encouragement from an Elite Ranger - two of them, in fact.

I sprinted to my small office, grabbing my ever-full-with-supplies brown shoulder bag. I ran back out again, stretching my arm out as I passed the secretary. I managed to snatch the trainer file, almost dropping it in the process. I hoped I wasn't too late and had kept the fourteen-year-old waiting...

I didn't trust my legs; I knew they couldn't take me to the Woods in time. I called out Archer, one of the newest additions to my team. "Okay, let's try a Teleport to the Woods, shall we?" The Gallade nodded once, and soon, we were enveloped in a bright blue hue of energy.

My stomach churned as, one by one, the atoms and molecules; the cells and tissues that made up my human body were being transported to a place miles away... I had yet to get accustomed to the whole Teleportation idea, but I knew Archer could do it. I believed in him, in all my Pokemon, because - I believe - that is what bonds us and keeps us strong - trust and faith.

Now, as we arrived at the designated area, I gazed up at the trees that loomed over me and my Pokemon. The lush green leaves were already being very helpful, blocking some rays of sunshine from reaching the forest floor.

"Ready for your first National park expedition?" I asked my partner as we waited for Brooklyn. The Psychic-Fighting-type nodded enthusiastically, swinging his arms energetically. I could tell he just couldn't wait.

The Start to Something Great ;]

Frigginmcfrick. A red haired girl lied there on white plain bed with the sheets twisted around her lazy body. The bright, full sun had shined its rays down on the girl and her colored skin through the half-opened window. Her head pressed into the pillow and rubbed against the softness that had an irresistible invitation. The peace at mind and relaxed atmosphere was ruined the second the girl lifted her chin upward to see that her alarm clock had not gone off. In fact, she had completely forgotten to shut it off.

That of course was a full out lie. The reality was she had earlier that morning pressed the snooze button down so hard that she damaged the machine in the process to shut up the obnoxious buzzer. A minute amount of drool was left on her chin while she gradually sat onto her bottom. Click and just at that moment she realized that she had only a limited amount of time before she would meet her ranger in the woods.

Frick,” she said and placed emphasis the beginning and ending syllables. Brooklyn placed her hands on the side of the bed and pushed herself off. She dash in direction to the bathroom and almost slipped on the way inside. A five minute shower would at least brighten her spirits plus take away whatever anything scary was on her face off she had gotten throughout the night. One thing in particular are the pair of dark circles she gained. No, today she was not able to apply any makeup or fix herself up enough to look presentable on her standards. On the way out of the bathroom door with a white towel wrapped around her, she gathered her hair to pull into a high ponytail then fixed it into a messy bun. Brooke then grabbed the clothes to slide onto her on the way to the door. Her arm reached out over to the coffee table in the semi-living room of the hotel and curled her fingers on one of the bag’s straps.

Brooklyn tossed the bag over herself to slide her arms through the straps and was outside the door. No, she did not know how to exactly get to the ranger post from here. However, she will figure it out on the way there. Part of it was she had to prepare to beat the heat. Normally people would not be as idiotic to decide a run in the national park on one of the hottest days. That was a different story for Brooke who preferred the idea to attend a National Park run in one of the areas such as the woods to avoid other trainers who end up in that specific area. The woods, which she had picked for her destination, would have trees that could shade her. If she was lucky, a Pokemon could use rain dance. At least because of the sun that burned over the horizon, this could provide a better advantage on her side. How so? The Pokemon she had chose for her run.

Her olive green eyes dropped to the bag that made her smile. Yesterday she had done the smart choice to put everything together the night before she had to be on her run. What she had chose for this run is to have two Park Balls, a Super Ball, and a Hyper Ball. Any Pokemon she intended to catch were somewhat the grass types and then somewhat the bug types. The Pokemon she had chosen were a Sceptile and a Torterra. Normally a smart trainer would not be so silly to bring types of Pokemon that have a disadvantage to the bug type Pokemon that lingered in the woods or sometimes they would not usually bother to battle similar types. In the back of her mind she had thought endlessly which Pokemon to choose. Although the Infernape and Blaziken were at a higher percentage to be chosen, she had decided to try to choose the two that she did. Now that she had thought it over, it would be a better choice to avoid wood fires.

Frick!” she exclaimed and stopped right there to dig around her pocket for a map. “Where the frick am I?!” yes, she was a bit mad, but in her defense, she had a lack of direction. It would be no surprise to her if she had taken south when she thought she had headed north and vice versa. Did she take a wrong turn somewhere along the way? Brooklyn walked a in circle in the same spot to try to get an idea of where she was. She finally did catch an idea with the map. The ranger post gladly was not anywhere too far from here and she slid the map into her left back pocket. Before she knew it, she was on her way to the ranger post. No, she will miss the time of arrival, but worst case scenario is that she arrived there before the ranger and would think she met in the wrong spot despite the red colored x that marked the spot for the meeting point.

Today she had chosen to wear her usual attire. That consisted of the purple striped short-sleeve top with a low cut over a black tank-top. Then she decided to wear the usual pair of jean shorts versus the black ones she had worn yesterday night. It was partly that she did not want to attract too much heat to her. That would be a rather ridiculous move on her part to not wear smart articles of clothing. Today she actually decided to wear a pair of penny hoses since she could not shave this morning. The last thing she wanted was to have hairy legs anywhere she went. Then the footwear she had chosen to walk in for the many few hours she will spend in the park were not the brightest choice. But she was not one to complain or at least she won’t try to. They were the only pair she could find in the nick of time before she left her hotel room in such a rush. What had she chosen to wear? Why, the footwear she had chosen were the silver colored stiletto pumps. If need be she would just slip out of them and walk barefoot. Or she would just as mentioned suck it up (although take into the type of person she is).

Brooke pushed herself to continue the next step after another. No, it wasn’t her shoes that had already caused her feet problems. What it was was the sun that dared to boil her alive in the foot transportation she chose to head to the ranger post. In the distance she could catch the familiarities from the map. That and she could see a sign not too far the pointed in direction to the ranger post. She would just have to head right on over to the woods where hopefully she didn’t make her ranger wait too long. The woods would not be that far off since they were to her left of the woods or the correct side, which would be right. It’s really all about the perspective.

Brooklyn undid her hair on the way to try and fix it so it would not be too much of a monster to deal with when the whole run was over. Her hair had fallen to around her shoulder blades in layers. Yes, her hair had turned frizzy. Brooke ran her fingers through it and let out an irritated groan. She had to brighten herself to enjoy this run. Then she started to imagine all the Pokemon she would have on her. That brought a smile back onto her. Then she made it to the woods part of the National Park. Yes, she was a couple (modesty is key) minutes late. That’s when she spotted someone not too far away. Hey! Could that be her Park Ranger? A giggle came to her in excitement and then she waved her hand in the air.

Hey!” Brooklyn exclaimed with a grin. The pearly whites were shown in great glory. “It’s me, Brooklyn!” she stated, “Sorry if I’m a little behind!” In the consequence that was her lack of attention and focus, she lost her balance. In the event that she lost her balance, her body gave away down a hill. “Frick!” Brooklyn waved her arms and the top part of her body went down first. Her body curled into a wheel sort of form that rolled down the heel. When she stopped, her head shook and she stared up at what was her ranger. “Uh,” Brooklyn stammered with a lost of words and got back onto her feet, “I’m ready when you are, I should probably let out Sceptile too while I’m at it.” Who knows, maybe he would been there to help break her fall. Haha.

Sceptile, come join us,” Brooklyn said and grabbed one of the red and white colored Poke Balls that were attached to her silver colored belt. The white button on the Poke Ball started to glow a red color. After that the Poke Ball opened an inch or two to let the rays hit a spacious part on the field she stood. The red rays had formed an outline of the grass-type Pokemon Sceptile. Then the red filled in the inside until the Sceptile appeared in his great green and red flesh. He cocked his head and then walked over to his trainer. “Sceptile, meet our ranger,” Brooklyn said with a smile. The pointed-leaf-like Pokemon turned his head a minute of an inch then bowed his head at the ranger. “Just remember Sceptile, this is all for fun, OK? You’ll do a great job.” Her eyes shut and she continued to encourage her mild Sceptile. He in returned smiled with a nod at Brooklyn.

"Sceptile," Sceptile spoke and stared at the ranger. He was ready to venture into the woods. What he was wary about was when he would come across a bug-type Pokemon or a grass-type Pokemon. No, he didn't want to do too much to any of the Pokemon who lived here in these woods. This is their home and sometimes they didn't want to be disturbed. That was not a call that anyone could make and the other part of him wondered about his friend Torterra. He knew that he wasn't one to engage in battles unless in the sake of Brooklyn.

When everything would start he should come to not be as wary, but that didn't meant how he felt would disappear at an instance. That's why some of Brooklyn's words helped him. He also looked forward to a couple more members in Brooklyn's team. She was a great trainer after all. His head turned a bit to where he thought he had heard something then just shook it off. It must have just been how he wasn't too calmed down yet. Brooklyn didn't seemed worried, so he would go with her institution.

OOC: Excellent RP'ing! As you most likely don't know this, your encounter list is rather crappy. So, keep up with the great posts and I'll have an excuse to reroll the mons.

    NBP#2

Archer and I need not to wait long for the female trainer. Though what had happened the moment we met her was quite - err - an interesting one.

"Hey!" she had called, grinning at us widely. I was rather amazed at how white her teeth were. I gave her a once over quickly, and I noticed she came slightly unprepared for she was wearing heels.

As she rushed to us, somehow, she lost her balance and tripped. She tumbled into a slight curl, which caused me to gasp. Before I knew it, she had, uh, rolled her way to us.

I was at a lost for words, unable to stop my self from staring at her blankly - no matter how hard I tried. "Uh,” Brookie stammered as she got back onto her feet, “I’m ready when you are. I should probably let out Sceptile, too, while I’m at it.”

She unclipped a red-and-white orb from her glistening belt and pressed the white button. In a flash of bright red light, the tall outline of a creature appeared on the open field to my left. Soon, the Grass-type, originating from Hoenn, appeared next to us.

“Sceptile, meet our ranger,” the teen said as her partner stood next to her. I smiled at the Forest Pokemon who, in turn, beamed back.

However, I noticed a glint of nervousness in his eyes. Perhaps it was his first time at the Park, or he could be worried about encountering a wild Bug-type which he was weak against. Either way, Brooklyn's encouraging words managed to calm him down.

In my opinion, the trainer's choice of Pokemon was a good one. Bringing two Grass-typed entities might not be best for opposing Bug-types, however it was advantageous for the sun was shining very brightly today. It is said that these kinds of beings were stronger under rather boiling hot weather conditions. Therefore, it was more of a 50-50 situation.

"Gal-Lade," my Psychic-Fighting-type said in an impatient tone of voice. He didn't have much patience, that I knew. I shot him a glare, which seemed to have silenced him.

"We're going, we're going," I convinced him before turning my attention back to the trainer. I nodded, saying enthusiastically, "Right then. Let's go!"

I turned, leading our party of four into the thicket of trees and plants. The forest was always a fascinating place to explore - there were the gigantic trees surrounding you, and the wild creatures that could spring out anytime and anywhere... There were the shrubs and flowers growing around the roots of the trees. It was such a beautiful yet mysterious place.

As I stepped on a fallen branch and caused a cracking sound, I looked around immediately in case I had attracted any attention. To my right, I suddenly saw a hairy yellow-and-blue spider climbing on a tree's bark. It appeared to have four pigment pits located in the middle of its forehead and nestled in between two larger eyes which have pupils. The entity had a jagged purple stripe on its back, and its underside was also purple in color. Its connecting leg segments, as well as the EleSpider Pokemon's single-toed feet, were dark blue in coloration. Spiky, hairy blue features fringed its abdomens. I jumped back slightly, recognizing the creature for it looked quite a bit like its pre-evolved form, Joltik - though that was much cuter.

"Would you be interested in a Galvantula, Brookie?" I asked the female trainer curiously. I actually wanted to have one of my own, though I preferred capturing Pokemon who were at their lowest stage.

    Sceptile (100%) vs. Galvantula (100%) Pt. I

No one can truly recognize the difference from the polluted city in comparison to the warm-filled, fresh air and nature that made up the woods until someone is actually there to witness it themselves. The girl who craved the city life where she thrived off the multi-story and multi-complex stores and the over-crowded streets to prowl for boys or other trainers could very much acknowledge that there in fact a difference. It was common to see plants and trees in built areas, but these were grown by none other than mother nature. All these trees had grown and were not tampered with to let the Pokemon live how they pleased. That is the beauty that is the wild life. Brooklyn’s eyes were captured in the scene around her. It would make her life have such a pleasant feel if she could access areas such as this whenever she had desired to relax from the real world. Some of her Pokemon who were from the wild would enjoy the scenery too. The woods would leave an ultimate nostalgia to quite a bit of her Pokemon. How could they not deserve that after all of their hard work?

Brooklyn’s green, peculiar eyes had harden when she started to focus better. The angle that the sun’s rays shot down in the field to expose everything that was captured in its spotlight had improved the intensity with her stare. This ranger she was assigned with had a humanoid type of Pokemon. A white body that had a rounded bulge for a belly then a sort of green colored top that spread from mid-point to the razors that made out the hand. On the back and the front were these red colored, triangular parts up at the chest. Her own Pokemon, Sceptile, had glanced over at the Gallade to catch a glimpse into those red eyes. What Brooklyn knew was that she had to watch herself to not do anything wrong or the ranger would have the psychic slash fighting type Pokemon come in to take control because she was unable to do a thing. Her eyes moved to her Sceptile. Her words have calmed him down a bit, but nothing will improve until they all run into her first encounter.

The girl stretched her arms. Her skin on the arms had a bit of color to them. Being a trainer meant to be out in the sun and that would cause anyone to have color show on their skin. In a swift motion her fingers intertwined together and she stretch her arms in the year before she let them loosely hang by her sides. A much needed yawn had escaped her in the process. Again the Sceptile had eyed back at his trainer. Yes, he knew her habits that sometimes were not the best. But she seemed to have swept it off her shoulders as if it was nothing. Then his attention was grabbed when he heard the Gallade speak out.

“GaL-Lade,” the psychic and fighting type Pokemon had spoken. Sceptile understood that Pokemon didn’t want their trainers to stall, but he would not push Brooklyn unless he was certain she either wasn’t focused or was emotionally out of reason. Unlike the ranger’s Pokemon, he would stand there and stand by until his trainer will utter the next command. Though, Brooklyn was more on the side to sometimes do whatever he preferred, which can startle him since she was a fussy person.

“Sorry, sorry,” Brooklyn spoke up and held up her hands in defense for her actions. No, she didn’t mean to make them wait. Now she felt somewhat guilty that she may have been the reason they had not gotten anywhere now. Yes, it was hot and there were Pokemon that awaited for them to encounter, which is why she was apologetic in the first place. Give it an hour though and all those words she spoke would be twisted to fit her well-known attitude. Sceptile for now kept a glance on Gallade. Since his trainer had apologized in the idea she had caused them to stall, she did not need to be treated anymore in that way. “Sceptile, it’s alright, really,” Brooklyn said and turned her head when she noticed Sceptile did not take semi-well to anything that the ranger’s Gallade said.

The ranger herself had spoken to the Gallade. “We’re going, we’re going,” she had convinced him then stared back at Brooklyn with a nod, “Right then, let’s go!” Brooklyn didn’t need another word to know that the National Park run had officially begun. In her mind she had a pre-set thought on all the Pokemon she would love to encounter. Yes, not many people would consider the woods to be a place to choose and many would shake their heads as they go ahead to write down on their sign-up sheet something along the lines of outer heavens. That was not the case for Brooklyn since she desired so many Pokemon that live within the woods. Her eyes were starry when many Pokemon started to flash in her mind. Pokemon that ranged from the bright red eyed Venonat to a fierce, luster green Scyther. The numerous Pokemon from the woods that flashed in her head was stopped when her attention was taken off track.

Sceptile stood there next to Brooklyn with his arms crossed. OK - under an hour his trainer would have already submerged to the true character he knew oh-so very well. Somewhere along the lines of their ranger and her announcement to head on into the woods had triggered what she anticipated throughout the previous day in her wait. Then it had clicked for her (quicker than usual thankfully) and she caught up down the path beside the ranger. There was grass that covered much of the land to their left and to their right. The grass-type Pokemon Sceptile could blend well if need be she figured. Then the path had a dirt-looking texture.

If someone were to grab a piece of the dirt from the ground, then the dirt had a high chance to crumble apart. Brookie carefully had kept her balance on her stiletto pumps. No, they did not cause her too much of a problem. She was used to them for the most part. In the woods, she was iffy on how well they could adapt to the surroundings and the environment. What she didn’t want to do was cause a heel to get stuck in the ground. Yes, she could slip her foot out and just leave her stiletto pumps behind. But she did not want to so-called litter the area and there was a chance that the stiletto pump heels could break. After a couple years, she managed to find herself a natural balance and was able to not break the core that brought the name stiletto to the high heel footwear.

All around the dirt road there were pieces of sticks that used to be apart of the many trees that had provided a much needed shade. However, that did not always fight the humidity and Brooklyn was certainly overjoyed that she made a smart move to wear her hair in a high ponytail. The fact that the back of the neck is always cooler would provide the needed source for a cool down. Green and brown pigments in the eyes started to stare off into every direction that was possible. How could she not miss the chance to eye out all the Pokemon she could while she embarked on this run she had looked forward to?

She could eye out already the many Pokemon that were shielded in their own shell such as Metapod and Kakuna. The Metapod had a clear and glossy green color that was an added edition from the sun that gleamed on its hard shell. That seemed to be the same case for the Kakuna who were wrapped in their golden pod. It was not a doubt to her that she would survey the woods to only at first find those common type Pokemon.

There was this silence, but it wasn’t a bad silence. In fact, it was a rather serene silence. The ears on Brooklyn’s head could captivate the cries that were heard over the distance. No wonder tree huggers enjoyed the woods, as they were unambiguously tranquil next to all the forest, jungles, and other tropical areas. Half of her wondered why she let herself dwell into the city life versus the outdoorsy enjoyment. In her mind, that’s similar to how those who enjoyed the crunchy peanut butter texture over the smooth, creamy brown butter and vice versa, but in the end they were both enjoyable no matter what. Brooke’s mind had finally decided to wander in direction to the ranger. No, she had not spoken or saw any reason to do so. But why wasn’t the ranger? Or yet, why didn’t the ranger say at least a name? Did she honestly expect Brooklyn to follow her around all day to address her as the “ranger” on their run? Thus, the true Brooklyn had begun to awaken.

A settle crack lingered in the void of the un-communicativeness from the branch on their path. When the noise had left the surroundings back to its absence of sound, Brooklyn had as well alongside the ranger around their current area. No Pokemon in the near distance was disturbed because the ranger had stepped on a branch, was it? The better part of it was in realization that it wasn’t Brooklyn who had done that, Her sharp, pointed heels would do a number on any of the branches here and cause quite the crackling noise. Of course, the other half is that now was the time that a Pokemon could be encountered. How would Sceptile fair when the Pokemon would be revealed? Then she saw her Sceptile swiftly sweep his feet in front of Brooklyn to hold up his arms at an angle.

In the distance was an eight-legged Pokemon that had a yellow fuzzy cover throughout the body. Some sort of blue and violet mixed color had outlined the back and the front of the spider type Pokemon. Its gender wasn’t known yet as the spider had no gender differences that could be acknowledged in its species. A fair blue with a slight gray warmth made out the grass on the very back side and hugged to the bottom of the belly. Then on the top of the head in the fore area were these slightly blue colored four orb that coordinated each other. Brooklyn’s olive green eyes came to gradually stare for almost over a minute at those blue crescent eyes. The eyes had a sheer, glass shape to describe it. This was the full evolved form of Joltik, a Pokemon she had desired for who knows how long.

“Would you be interested in a Galvantula, Brookie?” The ranger had asked and cut into Brooklyn’s mind track. There was no second choice to be made. Even Sceptile knew beforehand when he eyed the Galvantula that Brooklyn had outright desired that species for quite sometime. Yes, some trainers would preferably obtain a Joltik. Would the trainer not in the end have their Joltik evolved to a Galvantula though? This bug and electric typed Pokemon was most definitely be hers and so she would work to try to catch the little bugger. Brooke prepared herself mentally. No, this would not be an easy battle and she had to be careful to not go full out on this guy. Sceptile would not want to do that. That was not how he battled and she respected him for it.

The red hair girl nodded her head firmly. “Mhmm,” she gestured a definite yes to the ranger that she wanted to try and catch this first encounter. There was this thud at her heart that made her thrilled to be able to encounter this type of Pokemon first. Inside herself she could tell with her absolute intuition that this was a female Galvantula. Normally males would travel in pack from her experience and therefore, she just had this feeling that she was right with it being none other than a female. “Prepare yourself Sceptile,” Brooklyn muttered under her breath. His ears may not be visible, but he could hear her. He prepared his posture at a bent sort of stance. His razor leaf blades beamed with a sheer light. Until his trainer would call it, he would not attack and only defend if need be. He could tell that his trainer had contemplated his moves as well what to do with them.

“Alright Sceptile,” Brooklyn muttered under her breath, “Try to use screech.” The yellow bulges on Sceptile’s back were a bit lower at his bent composure. He then started to emit an unpleasant noise that trainers who were familiar with Pokemon would recognize to be screech. “Take it easy and surprise our opponent with a quick attack,” she had spoke to her Pokemon that was in battle. His head tilted upward and he pushed himself off the ground. The pair of big thighs added a boost to his sudden jolt. There was a chance that screech could touch the Galvantula and Brooklyn hoped it did. Sceptile attempted a quick attack in direction to where the Galvantula was located.

“You’re doing great Sceptile,” Brookie had exclaimed. The grass-type battler stood back to his bent posture when he landed. Anything that this Galvantula had in for him he was more than ready to take on. What he did not want to do was what he had worried before, which was disturb the multiple homes that belonged to the many bug-types here in the woods and to not truly got all out on the Pokemon. But Brooklyn would not let that happened. She too had focused hard on the best attacks to use since she isn’t too use to battles against an opponent that had a type-advantage.

"Mhm..." the female trainer answered as she took a stance. She called to her Grass-type, "Prepare yourself, Sceptile."

First, Brooklyn ordered for a Screech. This was a sound-based move that would catch your opponent off-guard, leaving it dazed for a while. And in the process, it could lower their defenses. The Forest Pokemon opened its muzzle, emitting a loud annoying noise. The sound waves travelled quickly, and all around the area, too. The move caused both me and the trainer to cover our ears as the screeching howl affected the Bug-Electric-type.

The Galvantula shook her head, agitated. The attack had taken its toll on her, keeping her in a rather dizzy state. Nevertheless, the creature began to power up. Electrical energy surged all around her, coming together to form a somewhat sticky web-like substance.

"Take it easy and surprise our opponent with a quick attack," the teen commanded to her battling Pokemon partner. The entity nodded, crouching down low. The next instant, he leaped at the opponent. His legs empowered him, the lift-off pushing him further and further rapidly. A stream of white chrome trailed behind him as he shot forward.

The wild organism opened her eyes from concentration, and all she saw before a harsh impact was the ever-so-slightly smug grin of a Sceptile. She had managed to shoot out the yellow electricity-filled web, though - this time, the Grass-type was caught off-guard. The net quickly wrapped around his body, trapping him with its electric tendrils. It squeezed around him as he flopped to the ground, binding him tightly and sucking a reasonable amount of health out of him.

Now, the EleSpider Pokemon charged up once more. The claw-like protrusions on her hairy yellow legs began to glow with Bug-typed energy. A light green hue surrounded the sharp pointed cutters. She lifted the right leg up, ready to slash down at Brookie's Pokemon any moment now. She growled in a rather mean way, planning on avenging herself from the earlier Screech and Quick Attack combo. She looked at the enemy menacingly, suspending her claw in the air for a more dramatic effect. Boy, did these entities have feelings and emotions, too! Her eyes and actions seemed to say, "Any last words?" Though Brooke's partner wouldn't get knocked out because of this one attack, it could just as well hurt him pretty badly due to type-match-ups.

The yellow electrical web around Sceptile was slowly starting to dissipate. However, it had taken out a chunk of his health and had affected his speed. His legs seemed to be weak from the fall, and on his face a look of sheer worry was plastered. A Bug-typed attack like this one would surely do him harm, would it not? I willed Brooklyn to act quickly - it was her Pokemon's only hope. If they were to fail this time around, I would think they would be pretty glum later on. That wasn't what this adventure was about. Glumness would ruin the whole thing. I crossed my fingers behind my back silently, hoping Brookie and her team would push through.

Sceptile (89%) vs. Galvantula (67%) Pt. II

When the jungle-dominant Pokemon species had released a horrid wave of sound from its muzzle, the red haired girl had taken the initiative to cover her ears with her hands. While she tried her best to shield out the unwelcomed, indecent sound, she had tried to keep her vision on Sceptile. At times her vision would blur off a little bit from the minimal damage she had in return from Sceptile’s screech attack. What she had recalled in her mind was the white flash that trailed off the green body that belonged to none other than Sceptile. The woods had seemed to help him blend in to a degree, but that would not bring any advantage or disadvantage. In the near future maybe if it came down to it. Brooklyn shook her head slowly to try and regain a full conscious to understand all the events that had played before her. When it was that she finally had gotten a better view as to what had happened, from what she can analyze and guess, the yellow fuzzy tarantula had retaliated with an attack that could not do Sceptile any amount of good. Then when she realized what it was, it clicked for her that her Pokemon was trapped down on the ground with cobwebs that covered a bit of his body.

Sceptile remembered what had happen not that long ago. He delivered what he saw to be a successful hit that had done a fair amount of damage that was ordered from his master. A quick attack that soon turned into him being trapped to the ground and that smug look he wore had disappeared as he felt the bitterness from the electrical cobwebs. An unwelcome sensation had trailed in lines at the same time. His head gradually stretched out as he took in the pain. It seemed that this had somehow affected him in a way he didn’t enjoy. The left yellow eye trailed and eyed the suspect who had entangled him into such a devious hold. However, there seemed to be some form of hope that he could untangle himself from this mess since a little bit of the cobweb broke down – possibly from the electricity? Whatever it was, it allowed him a chance to repay for that Galvantula for the damage he had received. That mainly depended too well on what his master would call forth for for their next attack. The Galvantula’s defense was down at least and that could serve better than a drop in his own speed.

Brooklyn gritted her teeth together as she tried to solve a solution that could help her Pokemon that was in trouble. Yes, she could spot that the cobwebs had dissipitated. Yet, that didn’t change the damage her Pokemon had undergone and she had to be careful. Practically she had to be precise with what it is she wanted to do. Should she plan an attack then try to have Sceiplte defend off? Or perhaps she could prepare a counter attack in case it was that Galvantula would continue to attack. There were so many options and if anything, she had to be careful. Her Pokemon and their safety was one of the biggest concerns she had. Probably a weak point if anything at all. With her own personality, any worry on her didn’t phase much and it was only the small antics that could demonstrate her flaws that would come to interfere with battles such as this. Then it hit her. Maybe she could do…should she? Brooklyn’s lips formed a pretty obvious smirk.

Sceptile saw an opening with the rest of the cobwebs and moved his opposite arm. In a swift movement, his green arm moved and with a shine that ran over the leaf connected to the limb, it went to try and cut through the cobweb. It would quicken the process for him to free himself from the cobweb versus waiting and letting the tarantula specie attack him. He eyed the smirk that seemed to play on his master’s lips. That meant she had something good on her. His form changed back to one where his two feet were ready to jump off at any time if called for. Then there were his arms that crossed in an X. A bit of light continued to gleam off of his leaf blades – strong enough to cut down trees if desired. No, he would not make the mistake to let his guard down. He was better than that. His fierce eyes had a yellow tint to them that stared down at the electric and bug-type Pokemon. Just because his speed was down didn’t mean that the fight was over yet.

“You’ve got this Sceptile,” Brooklyn muttered lowly; she would not let her Pokemon down. Down and next to her side was a hand with fingers that curled into a fist then tighten as she anticipated her next orders. There wasn’t anything inside of her that said this would be fully effective or if it would be executed as greatly how she saw it in the back of her mind. What they needed was a hit and that was what she wanted. It was a hit that she could only count to help Sceptile for the better. “Alright, detect Galvantula’s next move and use agility to avoid the attack,” Brooklyn called out. That wasn’t it for the combo yet. There was still much in store for what Brooklyn had in her own scheme to try to battle their Galvantula. A Pokemon that she desired to have and watching this battle just seemed to make her crave to have this one even more. Her eyes traced over Sceptile who started to focus more down at the tarantula.

Somehow it felt as if something had clicked in them both in unison. Sceptile had hardly glanced at Brooklyn before he returned his stare at the yellow furry, blue-spotted Pokemon. What was this giant spider going to do? His eyes did not move once and he seemed to have predicted something,. Though it was nothing more than an ordinary prediction and he had followed through his master’s beginning part of his combo. The agility he used had helped him to jump off to the side and retain what was his original speed. Yet, his stare at the same time did not drop its stare. What had his trainer decided to do from here? It seemed that he may have to swoop in for another attack or a chance at one. This girl usually had a spiffy way of thinking at times that could benefit – sometimes. Then he continued to move with his agility to try and not drop his guard too much. As he moved, the yellow bumps dangled along with him and the wind resistance had pushed back the leafs on top of his head that made out sort of his hair that was also on his elbows and other body regions throughout.

What was going on now? Brooklyn had to try to make the best call she could. It was unknown which moment would be the perfect opportunity to strike, but she had to try and at least help her Sceptile receive only the most minimal damage possible. Her eyes darted at every angle that Sceptile went at until she could finally come to call out the next attack. All these moves were consistent for a reason. Perfect! “Sceptile, now, quick attack!” She called out at the large, green creature. Strangely, when the Pokemon complied and advanced forth with another white flash that trailed off from it, he barely passed across the tarantula. That was what she had tried to exactly get as an outcome when she thought this plan through. Her Pokemon had no idea what was going on, but had no choice to obey (to a point). Then she called for the next move to help with consistency, “Up the tree Sceptile!”

The head to the forest beast nodded his head in understanding as he advanced in direction to the tree after his feet swept across the field in front of the tarantula. He attached to the tree and with the ease of his normal speed, he made it no time to the point that Brooklyn acclaimed, “Right there!” Then he started to get the better idea as to what was going on. His eyes could see that the agility with his feet had marked a circle that surrounded the eight-legged creature. “Now Sceptile, use the branch to push your body off and go in for a slam onto the tarantula! Whether or not you hit it, roll away!” Brooklyn explained the best she could. He tried his best to go ahead and follow her words precisely as possible. He pressed his feet onto the branch and immediately set off in a launch. His huge, green body that the sent was in attempt to drown the Galvantula in his shadow as he tried to deliver a successful slam, then with the words he remembered, he had gone ahead to roll away without knowing whether or not it was hit.

From some of the impact on the ground, a little bit of the dirt had lifted into the air as an after math to what had happen. It made Brooklyn feel a ping of worry deep down inside her heart. She gritted the far left of her teeth. Did he do OK? Hopefully if he missed, he resurfaced OK. Already she felt that maybe this wasn’t a good combo to use. Already her confidence got out of the way as her own feelings for her Pokemon intruded. Damnit! Why can’t being a woman be simpler than this? Her feelings were trying to force itself all onto one plate. Her stupid mind for changing from one thing to another – wait a second – she had more trust in her Pokemon than this! With that reminder that she had to have her trust in Sceptile, her confidence returned, and her ego that made her feel sure this was quite a combination to have Sceptile deliver. “Sceptile!” Brooklyn called out, waiting anxiously to see the aftermath.

OOC: Yup, I just randomly added in Galvantula's attacks to parts that came from your post.

I somehow appear from nowhere, and continue watching the battle between Sceptile, and Galvantula. Using a Grass-type, against a Bug-type was certainly a risky move indeed, but somehow Brooklyn was more than able to make the battle one sided, in her favor. Of course the battle was about to get several times more confusing now. First Sceptile was going ahead to use Leaf Blade, this was to cut the webs from the earlier ElectroWeb. Sceptile took one of its arm blades, and it began to glow with energy. It was now as sharp as a steel blade; Sceptile took this, and used it to easily slice the webs off of itself.

Next up for Sceptile was to use Detect. Well, Brooklyn couldn't have commanded Sceptile to use this at a better time, because Galvantula was launching itself right at Sceptile to use Fury Cutter. It had started to do this as Sceptile was busy cutting the webs off of itself, but it wasn't able to get their fast enough, and as Galvantula's claws became razor sharp, they were not sharp enough to penetrate the yellowish barrier that Sceptile had formed. This barrier would continue to protect Sceptile until it was commanded to use another move, well that was only a few moments away.

Of course Galvantula wasn't done trying to use Fury Cutter just yet, no, it went to one more time, but Sceptile had been commanded to use Agility to avoid any attack. As Galvantula was just about to strike, Sceptile jumped out of the way, and started to run around the woods. Not only would this help Sceptile be able to avoid some attacks that Galvantula might throw at it, but it would help Sceptile regain the speed it lost, and even more than that. Sceptile's pacing around wasn't done with Agility, nope, next up came a Quick Attack. Quick Attack was an increased priority move, where the user would dash at the opponent at a very fast speed, and strike them with a powerful blow. Though, when Sceptile was going to use it, it had ended up missing Galvantula, and during this time Galvantula formed some purple goo from its mouth. It took this goo and fired it directly at Sceptile, but Sceptile was much too fast and Toxic missed. Of course, I just thought maybe Galvantula was throwing up from being dizzy at watching Sceptile's movements, but Toxic was more logical.

“Up the tree Sceptile!” Brooklyn yelled to her Sceptile, as it ran up a tree. “Now Sceptile, use the branch to push your body off and go in for a slam onto the tarantula! Whether or not you hit it, roll away!” Sceptile was commanded, its fifth command to be exact. Sceptile had used its weight to launch itself off a branch, and go right for Galvantula. Sceptile came off of the tree, and it threw its entire body right on Galvantula, causing the spider to yell out in pain. And just as Brooklyn commanded, Sceptile rolled away from Galvantula, and it was in perfect condition, though the same couldn't be said about Galvantula.

"Too dizzy...oh I think I'm gonna be sick. But, enough about me. It might have been a really long combo you gave Sceptile to do, but hey it seems to have paid off.
