Individual RP: RockinCrocodile (Botanic Gardens)

"C'mon, Addy... we've got a new trainer today!" The Flareon in question perked her ears up and blinked at her trainer, but made no move. Adura was quiet overall, unlike her opposite--Nix the Glaceon, Zorayda's other 'Eeveelution' that constantly liked to yip and bark to make her opinion known. The blonde ranger flipped through sheets of disorganized, dog-eared pages and stopped at a picture of a young man. He'd signed up a while ago to be run through the park, and he'd been put into the queue... However, Zorayda had remedied that and the young man--Isaac--was finally going on his run. Pictures of a huge blue crocodile-like Pokemon, a horned black dog, and a fearsome flying sea serpent were placed in pages following Isaac's profile. These must have been the Pokemon he was planning on using in the park... into Botanic Gardens, as well. Zor frowned a bit at this--grass type Pokemon were strong against water types, were they not? But these looked to be tough Pokemon, so doubtless Isaac must have been confident in all their abilities.

The sound of a jingling bell notified Zorayda that someone had pushed the door open to the Ranger Outpost by the docks. Adura sprang up, suddenly vigilant, but relaxed when she recognized Isaac from the picture on his profile. The blonde ranger grinned and stuck her hand out.

"Hi there! I'm Zorayda, the ranger who will be taking you on your run. Sorry you had to wait so long, we've been so busy with those new Kalos Pokemon coming in..." she apologized sheepishly, shaking Isaac's hand. "But you're here now, and that's what matters! Are you and your Pokemon ready?" Zor asked with a smile. "We'll be traveling by boat along the waterways that connect the park, so if you have any Pokemon who don't like that..." she gave Adura a slight nod. "You may want to put them in their Pokeballs. Ready?" She led him down to the motorboats and helped him in, sending Adura into her ball so she would be more comfortable during the ride. They soon came upon the gate to the Gardens, which was when Zor pulled out her styler and an identification card to open both up. They stepped through the gates, and so began Isaac's first foray into the National Park.

Issac was spent parts of his day, when he wasn't playing with his Pokémon, waiting by the phone and waiting for the Rangers to call him over to the Park. It was some time, but he would finally get that call as his Houndoom started to get a little rough with the Gyarados. Once off the phone, he would let out a small cheer as he turned to his partners with a soft chuckle, "Houndoom! Cut that out, it's finally time for our first visit to the Park!" As he said that Houndoom instantly started to take off with Gyarados and Issac behind him, all the while poor Feraligatr was inside of its ball.

It didn't take long for Issac to make it to the Outpost as he entered the door to be greeted by Zorayda and a quiet Flareon before chuckling softly, "Well, hello to you too!" he said, accepting the handshake before asking, "The new Pokémon, that sounds cool! How many are there in the Gardens?" while getting in the boat before having Gyarados getting in the water and waiting behind them. Meanwhile, the Houndoom would look a little concerned as Issac nodded and sent him back into his ball before relaxing and looking around only to gasp, "Ohh…wow!" he said, seeing the gates open and the Gardens before him.

Once they passed through them, Issac was smiling ear-to-ear before saying, "I wonder if I'll be able to get a cool Grass-type to balance my team…to bad I had to leave my newest member at home."

Zor's grin grew even larger as Isaac took the handshake with enthusiasm, happy to meet her and the Flareon at her side. At his first question, she tilted her head in thought. "Hmm... well, the whole Park is abundant with Pokemon in general, and the natural thicket of the Botanic Gardens allows for lots of plant life and other Pokemon to coexist in harmony. We, as rangers, wouldn't have allowed trainers to capture them otherwise," she answered honestly, giving him a smile. They chewed the fat as they reached the boat, Zor noting with approval that he followed her advice about Houndoom and kept it in its ball on the ride. His Gyarados, however, looked as if she was having a great time in the water.

The blonde ranger had to give a little giggle in answer to the enthusiastic grin that broke out over Isaac's face as she spoke of the forest, and his reaction to seeing the lush Gardens for the first time. They were quite something to behold, indeed.... They were expansive, and even with the paths laid out by rangers, it was easy to lose yourself in the thick of the overgrown trees.

"I wonder if I'll be able to get a cool Grass-type to balance my team…too bad I had to leave my newest member at home."

Zor nodded at this comment. "Grass-types are common in this area, so you were right to choose it."

They walked and chatted for a little bit in the forest, Zorayda getting rather distracted until she remembered herself. Isaac was a very nice person, and easy to talk to--but Zor had her job to do, and she was neglecting it. Breaking off of her conversation with him, she focused in on finding wild Pokemon. The pair of them and their respective Pokemon partners grew quiet as they got into the thick of the humid gardens. Soon the lull of their speech made way into the soft, natural sounds of the woods--something that made Zor smile with satisfaction.

A tiny little chirp overhead made her freeze in place and cast her eyes upwards--only to see a small, bright pink bird with curious, wide eyes. Smiling, Zorayda slowly motioned to Isaac with a hand, quieting him and pointing to the Spritzee that was inspecting the humans carefully.

"What do you think? Do you want to try and catch it?" Zor breathed to Isaac in a near-silent whisper, never taking her eyes off the Fairy-type. Fairy type Pokemon looked adorable, but they could be dangerous. Often they were the most fierce--the power to take down dragons was nothing to laugh at.

Isaac was happy and seemed to be very eager to have some fun and hunt down some new Pokémon for his team when he realized the Ranger was getting nice a quiet before nodding as he grew silent himself as he seemed to be lost in thought for a second before finally nodding as he saw the Spirtzee looking back at them, "Wow…" he breathed out nice and quiet before seeming to be thinking about again, "…A Fairy-Type…" Eventually, he would nod slowly but he didn't want to scare HER away before slowly and silently returning his Gyarados, who was silently swimming in the river behind them, to her ball before slowly tossing out his Houndoom.

Sadly, that turned out to be a little bit of a mistake as the fiery hound took one look at the other Pokémon and seemed to know that Isaac wanted to capture it, as he started to breath in a large breath of air before looking right at the creature. Within a few second, Isaac gasped as he realized that his Pokémon was trying to attack when he didn't want him to yet but before a word could be said to instruct Houndoom to stop, the hound let out Flamethrower in the form of a raging pillar of fire from its mouth aimed right at the small, pink bird-shaped Fairy.

[Would you like the Spritzee to be male or female?]

The little pink bird seemed content to simply stare at the group with large, unnerving eyes, framed by strangely thick lashes. It was slightly creepy--it gave Zor the heeby-jeebies. The Spritzee didn't look as though it meant them any harm, though. Isaac wisely began backing up to get closer to his Gyarados, who would be a good protector in this case. The ranger watched as he quietly tossed another Poke ball out there, the red lights revealing that he'd chosen his Houndoom to perform the task of fighting and capturing the little puffball of a bird. Then, things suddenly got interesting.

Without a command from its trainer, the Houndoom sucked in a breath, only to loose it in a powerful Flamethrower right at the little bird. Caught off-guard and squawking, it flapped from its perch, landing on the ground and bouncing like a funny little marshmallow. It gave Houndoom a thousand-mile glare with those creepy eyes before chirping self-righteously, righting itself. Houndoom had done significant damage to the little thing, enough to make it slightly angry. With a little gasp of surprise, Zor saw that its right wing was burned with Houndoom's powerful fire, as well. Spritzee fluffed itself with something close to hurt pride before blinking its huge eyes up at Houndoom. It looked sad, pathetic almost--unbearably sweet and cute, and for a moment the black dog's hackles lowered. It was enough to get the dog to let down his offenses, enough for Spritzee to open its wide beak and let out a shrill chirp that hurt everyone's ears.

"Gah!" Zor clapped hands over her ears at the noise, and Houndoom howled with irritation, taking some battle damage with the loud cry. Spritzee took flight up into the air again, a tiny little pink poof that was now very much ready for a battle with the dog.

Watching as his Houndoom started to release the torrent of fire at the little bird, he would attempt to stop him but it was too late as he started to see the small bird-like creature get bounced away and take a few rolls and tumbles. However, he would then start to notice the bird Pokemon would be puffing up and staring down the much larger canine, making Isaac smirk a little bit as he muttered, "He's tough, I'll give him that," but then he would see it starting to act like a puppy dog that in trouble. When he saw that, Isaac let out chuckle, "Just like Houndoom when he was little." Suddenly, he watched as the bird opened its beak and SCREAMED at the top of his voice, causing Houdoom to howl and cry out in pain while Isaac covered his ears before yelling, as loud as he could, "USE FEINT ATTACK!"

All the while, he Houndoom would be howling before finally hearing his Trainer as the large dog made its way into the shadows of the trees and started to make itself hidden on the left side of the bird-like Pokemon but then the canine would start to quietly circle around before finally charging at it from the right side.

The irritated little Fairy-type was starting to lose its cool, and despite its sweet demeanor earlier, it was puffing up in anger. A calming, sweet scent suddenly played about its feathers, and the dark, angry red scorch marks from Houndoom's Flamethrower were miraculously healed, leaving shiny pink feathers in their place. The bird squawked harshly when Houndoom took advantage of this moment to use Feint Attack as his master had requested, and it toppled to the ground with frantic tweets. The Dark move didn't really harm it all that much, but it seemed irked that it had been stricken all the same.

Fixing the dog with a harsh, shining glare (which wasn't truly scary, given the little Fairy-type's adorable facade), it opened its beak again--not in song, but in a harsh, shrill cry. The noise echoed in the clearing despite the thick of the trees' foliage, and Zorayda noticed that its body puffed up a bit with the move. It seemed the bird was preparing itself for something... The ranger said nothing though, and watched her trainer carefully to see what he would have Houndoom do next.

Issac watched and smiled as he watched his Houndoom attack the little bird-like Pokemon from out of the shadows, but eventually he would be laughing to himself, loving the excitement of the battled before gasping as he saw the wild Pokemon's marks completely healing up while cursing softly. Just then, he would see the cute little glare of the bird-shaped creature only to find it releasing a sharp, echoing cry, but thinking fast Issac smiled and said, "Ignore the cry and give your own!"

Looking over at his Trainer, the Houndoom seemed to be wanting to do something different only to start to HOWL loudly and deeply along with the echoing voice and once it had its confidence up, he started to smirk as well, thinking all kinds of evil thoughts about the bird. Once he was done, he would look over at Issac, having thought of a NASTY PLOT.

"Alright Houndoom!" shouted Issac, throwing a punch, "Charge up your fang and go in for a THUNDER FANG!" as soon a Issac gave the command, the wolf-like Pokemon started to have its fang grow yellow and spark with static while charging right at the bird-like Pokemon, ready to strike despite the noise and fussing its foe was making.

Houndoom was more than eager to follow his master’s first instruction, since as a dog-like Pokemon, howling was a natural aggressive reaction to battle, and often intimidated their opponents. As it was, Isaac’s Houndoom gave a cry, a long, resounding note that echoed even in the thick forest. A flock of bird Pokemon scattered from a nearby tree in fear, having been watching the spectacle of the battle. The powerful call seemed to give new life to Houndoom’s resolve, a glint in his eye that hadn’t been there before. The black dog looked almost as if he was smirking, eyes glaring at the irritating little Spritzee, but before a move could form in Houndoom’s head, the bird had cried out again, its own voice growing louder and louder with the Echoed Voice it was using. The Howl had only strengthened the sound in the forest, and this battle was turning into a cacophony of snarls, squawks, howls, and chirps.

Ticked off beyond all reason, Houndoom wasn’t able to raise his special attack powers, but the Thunder Fang forming between his jaws looked formidable all the same. The dog bounded forth and snapped at the Spritzee, whose wings flapped pitifully as the blow landed. It was starting to look worse for wear now, covered in scratches and dirtied up from its pristine feathered state before. Thick-lashed eyes were filled with determination mixed with resignation. It knew it would not win, but it wouldn’t go down without a fight.

Issac seeing his Pokemon unable to think correctly but still making the strong connection on the bird's body, decided to reach into his bag and try his luck at throwing his first of three ParkBall. Holding the small ball in his hand, he would push the button in the middle and made it grow and then he would look at Houndoom, who was howling in a bit of pain from the echoing cry of the Spritzee. Then, he would kiss the Ball before winding his arm as far he could before flinging it towards the bird-like Pokemon as hard as he could.

Jason watched with mild surprise as the trainer flung a Poke ball at the tiring Spritzee; the bird was a bit battered, but still didn't quite look downtrodden enough to get captured inside a ball just yet. The Dragon Tamer subconsciously held his breath for the few moments that the ball sailed through the air... perhaps there could be a slim chance that it would stay inside the ball? But, it seemed that the throw was of no use. The Spritzee wasn't even trapped inside the ball; it swatted the Park ball away with irritation, giving Isaac a comical glare before using another Echoed Voice, its shrill call becoming louder and louder in the thicket of trees. Houndoom flinched back at the powerful call, surprised too by the fact that his trainer's thrown Park ball hadn't entrapped the pink Fairy-type inside. The good news was that the ball looked unharmed. Perhaps Isaac could fetch it after the battle ended.

Jason called out to Isaac, in hopes of helping guide the trainer just a bit. Not too much, though; Jason liked to let trainers find their own way most of the time.

"It's not weakened enough yet," he observed. "You need to wear it out a bit more before trying to capture it!"

Issac looked a little red in the face as he saw his attempt fail, but just seemed to have shrugged it off, "Well, so much for that. Though..." he then looked at his Houndoom as he took in a deep breath of air to calm himself down. Then, his eyes lit up as he remembered something all of a sudden and snapped his fingers quietly as he shouted, "Come on, Doom! Use SMOG!" as loud as he could while looking right at his Pokemon, almost begging for his voice to be heard as the dark wolf-like Pokemon slowly nodded. For a second, Houndoom started to stand there before looking right at the bird-shaped creature only to charge towards it, as if he was going to tackle it, but, about 5 yards away he would open his maw and release a dark purple plume of gasses from deep inside his body aimed right at his foe. As the smog covered the field, the Trainer smiled deep inside as he looked at the mess but then he started to wait carefully while saying to himself, "Please, PLEASE! Don't let it be too much."
