    OOC: @Lovecraft; Sorry for the delay :( Feel free to ask me if you have any questions!

    ~~~~~
    I hadn't been back to Meteor Valley in what seemed like foreeeeever. Most of the Expeditions these days were either heading to the newly-opened Ruined Manor or Sandy Beach, and the few that trickled through that floodgate usually went to the standards: Great Lakes or Mount Deckbi. It was by pure luck that I managed to snatch this run from out of the grasping fingers of the other Rangers. I could pretty confidently state that my favourite place in the entire National Park was Meteor Valley: the temperature was always nice, interesting and powerful Pokemon were found here, and my Gallade enjoyed visiting-if only to try and chase some Gardevoir tail.
    According to the form that had since been scanned into my PDA, the Trainer I would be escorting through was a newbie, a first-timer. Those runs were always the best, because the Trainers were still un-jaded and excited for everything. They still loved the thrill of adventure, instead of simply visiting the Park to milk the best that they could out of it. I had long since accepted that the vast majority of Trainers only visited to try and bag a Starmie or a Whimsicott or a Honedge or something. Still, it rankled at me slightly, and I knew that in some small way it always would.
    The chair I was sitting in on the porch of the Outpost was quite comfortable, and I was more than happy to wait for my Trainer to arrive. I probably should have been reviewing their profile so I could spot them when they showed up, but chances were good that they would be the only one through here today. Besides, it was always more fun to learn about someone on the fly than review them in some boring personality file. In the end, I just hoped that we'd have some fun and that my Trainer would walk away wanting more.
    OOC: { @ChainReaction01; No problem, seeing as I'm way later '-_- Sorry, I've just haven't had the time to stop and think of something. Also, sorry for the small length, I'm not really good with the whole roleplaying scene.}
    Wind and the outdoor, two things I didn't particularly care about, but I suppose every once in a while I gotta do one of this things or Alex gets antsy.
    "Next time I should bring Capoeira, or the ninjas" I said to no one in particular as my Ampharos dragged me to the gates yipping away in joy and I smiled ever so slightly. Once through the gates we resumed into a steady walk to the outpost.
    Stopping once, I took a deep breath. I suppose the air quality is better than my flat's, even if I do kind of miss the background noise, but oh well, this should be quick. I released the loyal Knight Pokemon and said a little speech "Okay, so we're at the Meteor Valley, where allegedly there are many Psychics, Ghosts, Darks and Fairies. Now don't tell Joan or Dawn but we could use some better Psychics and/or Fairies so they're top priority."
    "Losing only to Dark pokemon which we currently lack." I said as an afterthought "So yeah, we pretty much just walk around, and try to catch Pokemon whenever they appear, I'll take Alex along since she's more of an outdoorsy type, but if needed you're on call Shiggie." I finished as I imprisoned her once more.
    And I once more was dragged my Ampharos, this time to a place I could faintly see someone in the distance.
    OOC: @Lovecraft; Sorry for the delay, I assure you that it is unprecedented.
    ~~~~~

    I saw, coming from the direction of the gate, an amusing sight. A young man, fairly urban by the look, was being dragged enthusiastically towards the Outpost by an Ampharos. This was of note for two reasons: firstly, either the Ampharos was very domineering, the Trainer was shy, or a combination of both. Secondly, Ampharos was a fairly rare Pokemon, mostly because they required no small amount of raising in exchange for what many of the top-tier battlers considered a sub-par Pokemon. I'd heard rumours that the Electric-type had hidden depths of power but to my knowledge this had not been confirmed. Still, this made me even more excited: I loved exploring with Trainers who brought their favourite Pokemon, instead of which ones were simply the strongest or best-adapted to battle in the terrain they had chosen.

    "Welcome to Meteor Valley," I called out as I stood up from my seat and stepped down to greet the pair. "My name is Ranger Chainy, long story, one that I won't go into. You've signed up for an Endurance Run today, which is a true challenge indeed. You've made it this far so obviously you're all kitted out and ready to go."

    I heard a strange noise and turned around to see a small Pokemon half-hiding behind the Outpost. An Elgyem-a young one, if I hit my guess-was watching the Ampharos curiously. I pointed it out to my Trainer with a smile.

    "Feel like trying to capture an Elgyem?" I asked. "And what is your name, if I might be so bold?"

    @ChainReaction01; {{Sorry for the delay, life has been hectic.}}

    As I gave the matter, some careful consideration I absently replied “Howard, Howard Slater. I've been called Lovecraft rather often though.” Then I turned, slowly, so as not to startle the Pokemon, to my ranger and shrugged “I'm afraid not, while Beeheyem is a fine Pokemon; I have a friend that's willing to trade me one, so,” I paused to take a breath “the way I figure, there's no need to take this little guy or girl from his home.”

    And then, addressing the Elgyem with a faint smile I said “Sorry to bother you, pal.”

    OOC @Tychiel;

    The Trainer took a while to answer, as if he was carefully considering every word that he said. Either that, or he was just a bit slow. His name was Harry Slater. He claimed to have a friend that could trade him a Beheeyem, and so turned down the Elgyem-that rankled with me a little bit. However, I was reassured when he added that he didn't want to take the Pokemon from its home. He apologised to the Pokemon with a gentle smile, and the Elgyem darted back behind the outpost, out of sight.

    "Looks like he was quite young," I said conversationally. "Probably wouldn't have been up to the stress of Trainer battles for a couple years yet, in which case it was definitely best for you to let him go. Alright, let's head on into the crevasse. It's about a ten minute walk from here, and then you can decide where exactly you feel like trekking."

    I began to lead Slater down the gravel path that wound its way to Meteor Valley. The stones made a satisfying crunching sound underfoot and I was so busy enjoying the pleasant weather that I nearly tripped over the Pokemon that was sitting squarely in the middle of the path. Thankfully, I stopped in time, and it looked up reproachfully with its little beady eyes. The Pokemon was spherical, green, and looked like any hugs would result in being gooped.

    "I don't suppose you want to try and capture a Solosis?" I asked. "Looks like this one has a little bit of fire in him."
