Individual RP: Kantomasta

NBP #1

Another day, another run. Such was the life of a ranger like Aleria Cornish. The fact that she was new meant that the rangers would send her on more runs than the older, more experienced ones. Those experienced guys have to take breaks too! Aleria would be glad when she got a break of her own. Right now, she'd take these runs. She wasn't going to object. The more runs she did, the more she got paid. The more she got paid, the more she'd have to spend on things she wanted. Jobs were great.

When her PDA beeped that morning while she was browsing Tumblr, she received another run already. Finish one, take another. Such was the life of a ranger. Not that she minded. Today, she was headed for the Engima Ruins. Of all the park areas, the ruins were the only place she hadn't gone to yet. That would be changing today, much to Al's excitement.

She arrived at the ruins with a smile. Her satchel was loaded with supplies, and her PDA was secured in the pocket of her black leather jacket. Al took on the punk rocker look today. Now she had to wait for her trainer, a young man named Damian Hikotashi.

I pumped my fists with excitement as I walked into the Front Gate of the National Park. It had been way too long since I had been here, being temporarily laid off from my Ranger duties. Today I wasn't going as a Ranger though, but as a trainer. I was excited to be going to the new area of the Park, the Enigma Ruins.

I had heard stories about the Ruins, about strange things happening there, and about random Pokemon appearing at different places. I had to see for myself of course. As I walked down the path that would lead me to the ruins, I let out one of my Pokemon I brought with me, Aura, my Lucario.

“Let’s hope we get something good today,” I said. Aura nodded in agreement, and we kept walking. Approaching the ruins, I saw who I assumed to be my ranger; I slowly jogged up to them.

“Hi, I’m Damian Hikatori and you must be Aleria Cornish!” I said, reading off of the business cards I was giving.

The girl looked at me and laughed. “Nope, try over there,” she replied as she pointed to another figure closer to the ruin entrance. I smiled and felt my cheeks getting warm.

“Oh, sorry about that, thanks!” I said as I walked towards the other figure.

“Smooth, smooth,” Aura said to me, communicating Telepathically. I just bumped his shoulder and smiled. As we approached this new person, I smiled.

“Hi, I’m Damian, are you Aleria?” I asked, hoping I got the person right this time.

NBP #2

Aleria had been reading up on the Engima Ruins when her trainer showed up. Since she had yet to travel to the ruins before today, she thought it would be best to have a vague idea of where she was going before she went in. Besides, she was waiting for this Damian guy to show up. No sense in just chilling and looking weird, standing around by yourself. Research was good. Apparently, it was supposed to look like a cave, and a glance at it showed that it definitely looked like a cave. The catch was that it would change without notice. Al frowned; if she ended up in a lake today because of randomly changing environments, she was refusing to do any more Engima Ruins runs. Not unless she got a pay raise.

She looked up when she heard someone speaking to her. A Lucario walked alongside the man, and Al just nodded, putting her PDA back inside her jacket. "I'm Aleria, yes. Nice to meet you, Damian, and you too, Lucario." Name of the species was always good. She didn't even know if that Lucario had a nickname. She shrugged. "Right, so let's get this started," she said, turning to open the gate with the keys she'd been issued. Dark brown, almost maroon, key opened equally dark brown, almost maroon, lock, and they were in. "I should warn you," she said, locking the gate back up as she spoke. "I was doing some reading before you showed up, and the environment will change. I'm not sure if you've ever been here before, but I thought I would give you that fair warning now. The area's supposed to be relatively new, so stay close."

With the gate locked, she led her way into the cave, and as soon as they walked in, the environment started to change. Aleria froze as soon as she noticed it. Lines of zeros and ones formed around them until they eventually formed the area they would be traveling to: a pond with a single lily pad. The green lily pad had a triangle cut out of it, and it looked like a pizza pie where a slice had already been taken and eaten. The Lotad poked its blueberry body out of the water and looked curiously at Al, Damian, and Lucario. "It's a Lotad. Wanna try and catch it?"

The ranger nodded and spoke to us. "I'm Aleria, yes. Nice to meet you, Damian, and you too, Lucario." She replied. I smiled and Aura just nodded. She turned and started unlocking the door to the ruins.

"Strange" I thought to myself, none of the other areas had doors, just gates that were easy to get by, and I mean really easy.

As she opened the door, Aleria kept speaking, explaining the ruins to me. "Ya, I've never been here before, but I have done a fair share of reading as well," I replied. We walked along, and hadn't gone very far when the environment began to change on us. Lines of one's and zero's started spinning around us. The room slowly started to change into a single pond with a Lilli pad in the middle. I noticed one strange thing though, this wasn't a normal Lilli pad, it was shaped as a pizza slice, and I recognized the pokemon instantly. The pokemon lifted its body out of the water, and I registered it as a lotad.

"It's a Lotad. Wanna try and catch it?" Aleria asked me.

"Nah, I'll let it be for now," I replied. nodding.

 

NBP #3

"Lotad~" the lilypad said as it swam over to the trio. Damian said he didn't want it, which was a shame. Lotad evolved into a pretty awesome Ludicolo, and Aleria heard that they were pretty darn useful in the rain. Nevertheless, she nodded. Damian didn't want it, and she wasn't going to try to force it on him. That wasn't her job. Her job was to get him through the ruins as efficiently as possible with as few incidents as possible. If he didn't want the Lotad, then the Lotad was going to stay in its natural habitat.

Speaking of Lotad, it seemed to have been distracted by some distant chirping. As it floated away, Aleria watched as their surroundings changed from trees and a pond to ones and zeros once more. Clearly the chirping set off some sort of alarm that told them it was time to change the area. Aleria wasn't quite sure how it worked out. So far, it was triggered by walking into the ruins, which was obvious, and if the Pokemon got disinterested, as demonstrated now. Catching a Pokemon was probably a way to get it to change as well, but it was a theory that would have to wait to be tested.

When the ones and zeros turned back into solid surfaces with more than just a green and black coloring, Aleria looked around for their next target Pokemon. They were on a mountain, and in front of them were several boulders of varying sizes. "Erm... maybe your next Pokemon is a Rock type... oh!" Her squeak of surprise was uncharacteristic of her, but it came out without warning. Al's face turned red as she realized it happened, and her eyes widened as she watched a grey, muscular Pokemon lift one of the boulders up. Their target Pokemon wasn't a Rock type at all; it was a Fighting type. "Just kidding, it's a Machop. You wanna try to catch that?"

Damian walked behind the ranger, wondering what his next encounter would be. He was hoping for something cool, like a fire or ghost type.

The terrain became to change, and tye scenery shifted to a rocky, hill terrain. The ranger mentioned a rock type may be living there. Tyranitars and Steelix started filling Damians mind. Those were some cool pokemon, he wouldnt mind those at all.

All those thoughts dissapeared as a small, muscular pokemon stepped out. A machop. The ranger chuckled and asked Damian if he would like to catch it. "No thanks, I wanna keep these guys energized for later," Damian replied.

NBP #4

Aleria nodded. No interest in the Machop either, a desire to keep his Blaziken and Lucario well rested in case something exciting crossed his path. It was understandable, really. Once both of your Pokemon were knocked out, your time in the park was done, regardless of whether or not you caught anything. It would ultimately be a waste of money if Damian was forced to leave empty handed.

Machop was distracted by the boulder it was using for weight lifting. The grey, muscular Pokemon just kept lifting the boulder up and down over its head. Aleria led Damian past the Machop, and thankfully, the muscular Pokemon remained distracted by its weight lifting until they were well past the Pokemon. They walked on down the path, which slowly started to change from rugged rocks to a green forest. It wasn't long before their path split, but at the split was also their next encounter.

"A Spinarak," Aleria commented, nodding to the green spider that was resting on the spider web it had likely created. Its eyes were closed, so chances were it wasn't aware of Aleria and Damian's arrival, but one wrong move, and it would be. Unless that face that was painted on its back was actually a face with eyes that could really see things. Pokemon were strange. You never knew what kind of surprises they could throw at you. "Did you want to try and catch it?"
