I was doing some training with my new Pokemon, Politoed and Zoroark when my cellphone started to buzz. I told my two Pokemon to halt their attacks while I snagged the vibrating device from my pack, which I had placed off to the side.

“Gaius here,” I said, pressing the talk button.

“I have a run here for you. Destination is the Power Plant. It’s a new trainer so be sure to help me if he needs it.”

“Can do, I’m on my way,” I responded to the secretary on the other end. I disconnected and turned to the frog and wolf Pokemon. “Sorry guys, we’re going to have to cut this one short. I have a run that’s needs to be taken care of.”

I recalled the two Pokemon and quickly pulled on my ranger vest and cap. I then downloaded the trainer’s personal file and had my Alakazam teleport me to the abandoned Power Plant where Electric typed Pokemon reigned.

As I waited for the trainer to appear I started to read the short information we had on the guy.

A semiclothed boy in a hat and a leaf -and believe me I mean this quite literally- was walking through the park. He was going to the Power Plant, and his name was A Turtwig. He had two voice disks and a Pokeplayer with him, the voice disks of a Porygon and an Electrike. When he met his ranger he was going to ask if he could use them.

Finally, he made it to the Power Plant. It was breezier than he thought it would be, and he searched for whoever his ranger was.

OOC: Very short post, they'll get longer after this.

I hadn’t been waiting long when a young man walked up to me. He was wearing the most bizarre set of clothing I could think of but I was too polite to say so. I just filed that little piece of weirdness in his file, no need for other rangers to be surprised like that.

“You must be Turtwig,” I said shaking his hand. “My name is Gaius and I’ll be your ranger for the day. Let’s get started.” I swung open the doors to let him into the plant and followed behind. “Anybody in particular you are looking for?”

I heard his answer and pushed forward down the dimly lit hallway. The floor was a pattern of black and white tiles while the walls were an ugly muted yellow. Because the building was abandoned and only used for Pokemon, paint was peeling from the walls and some of the lights were flickering on and off. We had only reached the first door to the left when it swung open and a large two-headed balloon-like Pokemon floated through. Its purple body contrasted well with the yellow of the walls. The bigger head turned to stare at us as it puffed out yellow smoke from its fanged mouth.

“Ah, a Weezing has appeared. You want to go for it?”

The first encounter of this particular journey through the National Park of wherever A was was a Weezing. Weezing were known for their bulk, which when combined with their ability levitate and their poison typing, make them quite the foe. In addition, Weezing had two heads. Nothing was cooler than two heads, except a two headed bulky poison type with skulls on it. Seriously, Weezing was cool, and A Turtwig wanted to catch it. It seemed like his destiny.

"Ah, a Weezing has appeared. You want to go for it?" was what his ranger, Gaius Tyrannius, asked him.

"Yes, I definitely do want to catch this cool two headed creature," A replied as he took out a red and white orb. Immediately, the boy tossed it up into the air, and upon contact with the ground, it revealed a Blaziken. Blaziken were fire chickens, which in itself made them cool. In addition, they have some amazing attacking stats, the perfect thing in an attempt to offset Weezing's bulk just ever so slightly. That ever so slightly should be what was needed to capture it hopefully.

"Alright Blaziken, here we are at our first encounter. Weezing is pretty bulky and has some nice tricks up its sleeve, so be wary. Try a careful offensive strategy, one ridden with repetitive attacking yet still keeping a watch out for moves. Let's start with blinding it with a sand attack, then turning that sand to glass with a Flamethrower. Just make sure not to get that glass too far in its eye, we don't want to be entirely cruel with this torture."

That was a weird statement. He didn't want to be entirely cruel with his torture, yet it was torture, meaning it had to be entirely cruel by nature. It was irony like this that kept A going, and right now, he hoped Blaziken would listen to his warning of being careful.

“Yes, I definitely do want to catch this cool two headed creature,” Turtwig exclaimed, pulling out a Pokeball and calling forth the tall lithe form of Blaziken. “Alright, Blaziken, here we are at our first encounter. Weezing is pretty bulky and has some nice tricks up its sleeve, so be wary. Try a careful offensive strategy, one ridden with repetitive attacking, yet still keeping a watch out for moves. Let’s start with blinding it with a Sand Attack, the turning that sand to glass with a Flamethrower. Just make sure not to get that glass too far in its eye, we don’t want to be entirely cruel with this torture.”

Blaziken looked at its trainer in some confusion, and I could understand that because there was no sand in this area. How was it to conjure up the attack? But the Pokemon was going to do what it was commanded to do. Because this was an abandoned plant, nobody was around to keep the place spic and span, well some ranger did help. The Fire and Fighting Pokemon kicked up a cloud of dust and opened its bird-like mouth and fired a stream of red flame.

Both mouths of Weezing opened and from them poured thick black smoke that quickly filled the hallway and spread into the room with ease. Using the smoke as cover Weezing disappeared, trying to dodge the Flamethrower, but a loud cry told me that it didn’t fully succeed. And a moment later a thick gunk of noxious purple sludge came flying out of the smoke and smacked straight into the legs of Blaziken.

“Ah, this one tough opponent,” I said to nobody in particular.

OOC: Male if Weezing has a gender
BIC: Weezing is tough. It took a substitute for glass in the eye, which means that it will be a tough opponent. What must be done now is an entirely offensive approach. As Weezing is Poison type, and Blaziken a Fire/Fighting, it would be best to use a Fire move, as it gets bonus by Blaziken's Fire typing and Weezing resists Fighting type. Blaziken has two options on this front, Flare Blitz, and Blaze Kick, seeing as Flamethrower didn't do much, making physical options way more favorable. Each move had its pros and cons.

Flare Blitz was definitely the highest power move to use against Weezing. However, with that power came immense recoil, which could lead to Blaziken's demise eventually, which would be huge during the longrun in something like this. Still, that power was tantalizing and could be just what I need to offset the bulk completely, seeing as trickery did nothing.

Blaze Kick is the other option. While it has horrible chance of hitting and smaller power, it removes recoil, which in itself makes it an equal option to Flare Blitz. Still, with as little power as it has, can it get the job done? If flamethrower displayed anything, it did not.

A finally decided to use Flare Blitz, as Blaziken needed entire power to destroy this threat, especially with its defenses. "Alright Blaziken, hit hard as possible with a strong Flare Blitz. Look for where Weezing's weak spot is!"

Still, with the defenses Weezing had, could anything stop it?

@Dynavolt - At this rate Weezing will be Ko’ed by the time you come even close to the length needed. Either you’re going to have to bust out some long posts or you need to flee.

“Alright, Blaziken, hit hard as possible with a strong Flare Blitz. Look for where Weezing’s weak spot is!” Turtwig commanded after a moment of thought.

I cringed when I heard his command and backed up a few steps from the battle area. Having a Fire Pokemon use a Fire typed attack on a Poison Pokemon was risky because Poison types were flammable. What made it especially worse in this instance was that Weezing was a Pokemon that constantly belched out gas and the room plus corridor were filled with smoke.

Blaziken either didn’t notice or was intent on making his master happy, either was the orange Pokemon’s fist and head became coated in a wall of flame. With a loud cry the bird-like Pokemon rushed into the smoke from the Smokescreen. Because of the smoke I couldn’t see much more than a few feet ahead of me, but with Blaziken having three balls of flame on his body from the Flare Blitz it was relatively easy to his movements. When Blaziken connected with Weezing the Poison Pokemon was pushed backward from the force and wheezed in pain. But the Pokemon seemed to shore itself up and responded with a multicolored ray of Psychic energy that struck Blaziken midsection, forcing the Fire type to one knee.

Blaziken snarled at his opponent at leapt back to his master, on guard for the next attack. He didn’t have to wait long.

The body of Weezing started to glow a white before it slowly changed hues until it was Magenta in color. At first I thought it to be an Explosion, but then I realized it to be a Pain Split technique.

“Hey, that thing is trying to use Pain Split, that would be bad for Blaziken.”

OOC: Then I must crank out long posts.
BIC: The amount of damage caused by the fiery bliz caused by the once chicken but now very powerful and fast Blaziken that gets faster with every passing second until it can not get faster any more was awfully astronomical, something that A Turtwig, in his youth and age, did not expect at all. If he were to deliver such a blow for a time after the first, then it would probably result in the knocking out of Weezing, which would go against the goal in mind. The young adolescent wanted to capture the double headed creature in the tiny capsule known as a Hyper Ball, the most result retrieving of the 3 currently known versions of 'park balls', capsules used to gather creatures in the national park A was in at this moment.

The next action that the young boy and his no longer fowl-like creature was one of much debate. He had to perform a means of stalling that purple creature out, which would be a strenuous task indeed. After this second attempt at stalling it out (the first attempt earlier had not quite worked out, explaining the use of the fiery charge performed by Blaziken, or morerather, the more powerful fiery charge that resulted in damage being taken by Blaziken), A would attempt to 'capture' the beast, thus putting it under his ownership once and for all. The fight currently existing between the two would cease to exist at this point, for the reason that it would be redundant to continue any longer if the only reason of fighting Weezing at all was already accomplished.

Images of the Weezing defeating A flashed all throughout the young boy's mind, until finally he had enough. He was going to beat Weezing, no matter how hard it would be, or how much effort would be required for the task. It wasn't just his goal, it was his destiny, and since it was destiny, he had to do whatever it took to bring about the demise of the 'pocket monster', as these things were known in the original countries of their discovery.

This adventure brought A back to the day he met Blaziken, or Torchic, for that was the form it held at the time of meeting. The Torchic definitely held a different form from the one it had at the time, and the pride that could easily be seen in the Blaziken that it is at this day and age was practically nowhere. Torchic feared the world, but that all changed one day. A little four year old boy was walking along the road, when suddenly, an Ekans attacked him. Seeing the incident and realizing how urgent the situation was, something in Torchic snapped. No longer was it the entirely harmless chick that you could easily toss of the side of the road, it was now a full blown psycho who you didn't want to meet in a dark alley, or anywhere for that matter if you were what it considered something that isn't a friend.

The two eventually became an unstoppable duo, and unstoppable it was, for few could break the combination of A and his psycho Torchic, which eventually became a Combusken, and finally a Blaziken. Still, it appeared as the battle with Weezing started that the two had met their match. As the last move had shown though, such was not the case.

A suddenly remembered: he had to give his Blaziken a command for it to carry out against the Weezing. Not only that, but said command had to be stall at the most, while also protecting it from Pain Split. Then it came to him: the best move is to move around so that Weezing had no way of hitting Blaziken, for the smoke protected the fire whatever it is from easily being seen. A began to issue a command.

"Alright Blaziken, let's attempt to stall. The smokescreen is up, so let's bring it to our advantage rather than having to let it hinder us. I want you to use Quick Attack so you can avoid getting hit by any of Weezing's moves. If you can sense the presence of our two headed 'friend', then quickly move out of the way. Is that alright?"

It was a solid move on the part of Blaziken. Without Taunt or Protect, Blaziken would be essential defenseless in trying to escape the effects of Pain Split. But with the added speed from Blaziken’s ability, the Pokemon would have a chance to dodge. The only problem that I could foresee was that Blaziken would have to be in the smoke for it to work, but by doing so he would expose him to the smoke.

From the body of Weezing came a long rope of pink colored energy that snaked towards the tall form of Blaziken. Blaziken for his part waited until the tendril had neared him before it moved in to action. With the Pokemon’s added speed, Blaziken was like liquid in motion, but a blur in the smoke. I was only able to follow his movements because I could see his lithe outline as it moved through the smoke.

The tendril of pink energy whipped about a couple of times trying to hit Blaziken, but when it couldn’t the Pain Split retreated back into the body of Weezing. Returning the Poison Pokemon back to its original purple color.

“That was a close one,” I said to Turtwig. “You’ll have to be pretty careful in the future.”
