    OOC: What Ability will Stoutland be using on this run?

    ~~~~~
    The Woods. It wasn't exactly the most exciting of destinations. However, I did enjoy being there. The Woods felt simple and free, and there was always a nice chatter of birdsong and insect chirps that were quite relaxing and pleasing to the ear. Besides, even if I didn't want to go, I was going to be paid for it, so there was that.
    I decided to walk to the Ranger Outpost that day, taking my time and moseying along, reading a little bit of my dossier. My Trainer was Justin Cross - a first-timer, absolutely what I needed. Hopefully I wouldn't need to teach him too much. Most of the time, Trainers showed up pretty well-informed, but then you got your occasional screwball who didn't have a clue what they were doing. With luck, Justin Cross would be of the latter variety.
    The Ranger Outpost was abandoned - it rarely wasn't. I opened the creaky door and left it propped before sitting down and popping my MP3-player's earbuds in my ears. I sat in waiting, hoping that my Trainer wouldn't take too long. We had a short window of time - the Woods were rather dangerous after dark, as the Pokemon grew much more bold and aggressive then.
    That, and I was getting kind of bored.
    OOC: @VeloJelloVeloJello Stoutland will take Indimidate, I guess. No use for Sand Force here, right?
    ---
    "Ah, it feels so great here!" I said.
    A cold and crisp wind blew past me and Shaggy as we walked along a dirt road. Shaggy seemed rather excited about the National Park excursion; getting to catch some new friends and getting to fight abit. I was just hoping to get my hands on some of the wild Normal types these woods had to offer. I had originally considered going to the Botanic Gardens, but I heard that I could find Deerling and Sawsbuck in here, so I took my chance.
    I had left my house a lot later then I had originally intended; I just couldn't decide on which Pokemon to take with me. I had eventually decided on my Stoutland pal, Shaggy, along with a gift from a friend: a Jumpluff I call 'Fluff'. I brought Fluff as a sort of home field advantage; Fluff can take full advantage of her surroundings in here. I just hope that will be enough to get the job done.
    Eventually I made it to a rather dilapidated Ranger Outpost; it seemed on the verge of abandoned. I walked through the squeaky door to see a girl sitting there listening to an MP3 player. She seemed kind of ... bored. I bowed my head, trying to get her attention.
    "Uh, hello. I'm Justin Cross, you're Ms. Crowe right?"
    After just a few moments, the door opened once again, admitting a young man with messy brown hair atop his head and a quiet, calm, intellectual air about him. My original preconceptions vanished - this guy didn't seem like a newbie. However, he was quite tall, which was probably going to annoy me a lot. Oh well - being short is something you have to just deal with. I rose to greet him, plucking my earbuds out of my ears, but the newcomer preceded me with a nod and a somewhat hesitant greeting. "Uh, hello. I'm Justin Cross, you're Ms. Crowe right?"
    Ms. Crowe? Man, this kid didn't know who he was talking to. Formalities, with me? Not something I was used to, I'll admit. He didn't seem very old to me - just a teenager, albeit a very tall one. His parents must have been pretty on the ball in the manners department, I guess - what with this 'Miss Crowe' thing. I gave him a friendly grin. "You don't have to be so formal. My name's Adelaide, or if you want to call me Addie, that's fine too." I walked past him and held the door open, letting in some fresh air. "Now, if you like, we can take off - unless you happen to have any questions for me before we set out on our grand adventure?"
    @VeloJello---
    After I had bowed in my rather ridiculous greeting, she stood up and took out her earbuds. When I got a better look at her, I realized that she looked really tiny compared to me. I felt kind of embarrassed about the whole ordeal, until I felt the fluffy head of my good pal Shaggy on my palm. I scratched his head to let him know I accepted the gesture with great happiness.
    She then spoke. "You don't have to be so formal. My name's Adelaide, or if you want to call me Addie, that's fine too."
    She then went around me and opened up the door (that seriously needed an oiling) that I had entered through earlier. I then began to feel that chilling autumn air that was previously experienced on the walk here.
    "Now, if you like, we can take off - unless you happen to have any questions for me before we set out on our grand adventure?" Adelaide asked.
    “Well, I really wished I would’ve brought a coat, but that’s my fault. So, I guess we should shove off now, before it gets dark.” I then quickly, with Shaggy in tow, walked outside.
    I nodded as Justin lamented his lack of a coat - hopefully the Woods wouldn't be too chilly, for his sake. I released Justice, my Luxray; he would help me keep an eye out for wild Pokemon. Walking just ahead of Justin and his Stoutland, I headed along the well-worn trail that led toward the towering trees of the Woods.
    After a relatively short walk, we came under the Woods's leafy canopy, and the sun was eclipsed by the branches above our heads. Pokemon moved about in the shadows, hiding from us loud, scary humans. I watched them with a careful eye, just as I knew that Justice was doing. So far, no Pokemon seemed particularly eager to challenge us, although several gave us wary glances before dashing off.
    However, after a short time I noticed a bug hovering in the air. It had a shiny red exoskeleton and a big green mask around its little beady eyes. I recognized it as Yanma. The little insect had a wicked stinger, and its evolution Yanma was even more powerful and fierce. It wasn't, all in all, a bad find. I glanced toward Justin and pointed toward the Bug-type. "There's a Yanma over there, ripe for the taking if you want it."
    @VeloJello: It's quite alright. I'm pretty late, myself, actually. :mallet:
    ---
    Starting our great trek into the wilderness, Adelaide released her Luxray, Justice. I always kind of liked Luxray, power with elegance. As we walked, we came across a large, leafy canopy. I guess this is the real Woods, I mused in my head. I petted Shaggy's head to comfort myself; this IS my first big venture into the park. Shaggy pushed back, pretty much telling me it'll be okay and to stop my inner bellyaching.
    A short bit after we went under the canopy, Addie noticed the red exoskeleton of a Yanma. It had really beady eyes surrounded by a green 'mask' of sorts;a really cool Bug-type overall. But unfortunately, it wasn't a Normal-type.
    "There's a Yanma over there, ripe for the taking if you want it," Adelaide said.
    I don't know, I thought. It's not a Normal-type, and that's really what I had come here for. I hate predicaments like these.
    "Unfortunately Addie, I think I'm gonna have to pass, I have a Poke Doll if it refuses to leave. I just came here for Normal-types, and I'm determined to stick to that goal."
    Justin deliberated for a moment, pondering whether he wanted to capture the Yanma before admitting that he had come primarily to hunt for Normal-types. I nodded, just a little bit surprised; but it was Justin's choice. Careful not to make too much noise, I beckoned Justin Cross forward.
    Fortunately, Justin and I managed to slip away from the Yanma without any further incident. I strolled ahead at an easy, ambling pace, keeping my eye out for other Pokemon of the forest - especially Normal-types. After several minutes, I spotted a pink dress. For a heartbeat I wondered if some little kid was lost in the Woods - but then I noticed the blue polka-dots, the lacy collar, and the fanged lower jaw that jutted out fiercely. I wrinkled my nose at the sight of the Fairy Pokemon, Snubbull. It was about as ugly as sin - seriously, that dress - and its tenacity would probably make it impossible for us to escape without a fight if we were spotted. Fortunately, the creature was focused on something else. I stepped back, placing a hand on Justin and Justice's shoulders to pull them with me, and pointed at the wild Pokemon, hoping that the Trainer caught my meaning.
    @VeloJello Here we go! Time to catch my first Nat Park Pokemon! -cracks knuckles- Also, can Snubbull be male?
    ---
    After I had mentioned to Addie that I had no intentions of catching Yanma, we moved forward. After another short stroll, Addie paused. As I looked at her, it appeared something had caught her eye. After a few seconds passed, I felt a hand on my shoulder, pushing me towards Addie's current position. It was at this moment I spotted a ghastly pink dress, covered in blue polka dots. All of this leading up to a rather... peculiar looking face. I was stunned to realize that this Pokemon was the first Normal-type encounter I've had: Snubbull, the Fairy Pokemon.
    Even though described as the 'Fairy' Pokemon, Snubbull wasn't all that fantastic in the looks department. Pure pink, gruesome face, it looked like it would try to bite your head off if you even got near it. But from what I know about Snubbull, they were one of the most polite and loyal Pokemon on the planet. I guess the haunting look was some self defense mechanism for the Pokemon. Snubbull's evolution, Granbull, had a ferocious pair of chompers, but it still just as loyal as Snubbull was. I think it could be a great find and overall fantastic addition to my team.
    "Alrighty, Addie, I'm going to go after this one. Shaggy, I don't want you scaring Snubbull, so I'm going to use Fluff this time, alright?"
    I felt a slight bite on my hand and I jumped.
    "Shaggy, it's not polite to bite people when they tell you no." I then rummaged through my pocket and pulled out the miniaturized version of Fluff's Poke ball. I then tossed it into the air and called the standard trainer's cry:
    "Fluff, I choose you!"
    Out of the white burst of light coming from the red and white orb, emerged the quadruple set of orbs I called Fluff. Fluff was a Grass type, which I hoped would prove advantegous in these woods. She came out floating, not seeming to give a care in the world.
    "Alright, Fluff. Please begin by performing a Swords Dance."
    Fluff proceed to cross her two puffballs across her face, and she began spinning rapidly. After she had stopped, she seemed to have gained a more determined look, seemingly feeling stronger.
    "Now, then Fluff, fire off Seed Bomb!"
    Fluff opened up her small mouth and a small white orb began to form. This orb grew a bit before stopping, and then a large cluster of glowing white seeds were shot out up towards the sky. These seeds then began their arc downwards, targeting Snubbull. I just hoped some of those seeds would hit their target.
    OOC: That's no problem. The Trainer picks the wild Pokemon's gender every time. :p
    ~~~~~

    "Alrighty, Addie, I'm going to go after this one," said Justin, excitement coloring his voice. "Shaggy, I don't want you scaring Snubbull, so I'm going to use Fluff this time, alright?"

    A second later, he jolted with surprise, setting the bushes rattling. As Justin looked back to glare at his Stoutland, I noticed that Snubbull was turning, looking at us in surprise. It let out a faint growl, to which Justice replied with a snarl of his own. I touched him gently on the shoulder. It was one thing to warn a Pokemon away until our Trainer was ready; it was quite another to scare said Pokemon away.

    Justin tossed a Pokeball high overhead, calling out, "Fluff, I choose you!" I recognized the name from his application; it was his Jumpluff. I wondered how well this battle would go - considering what a small, vulnerable Pokemon Jumpluff was. The little puffball floated in the faint breeze, looking carefree in the face of Snubbull's glare. However, I recognized the look it was giving - the ability Intimidate, which was one of Snubbull's most common. Fluff the Jumpluff wouldn't be too hindered, but it would definitely give just a little less out of its attacks.

    "Alright, Fluff," Justin commanded. "Please begin by performing a Swords Dance." Fluff obliged happily, covering her face with her puffballs and twirling about in midair. Once she was done spinning she spread her puffs again to catch the wind, looking refreshed and a good deal more focused. Now she had an advantage rather than a crutch.

    "Now, then Fluff, fire off Seed Bomb!" Fluff opened up her small mouth as wide as it would go; energy glowed in front of it, forming an orb. From the orb, a barrage of seeds shot skyward before falling back down. I watched carefully, touching Wrath's Pokeball just in case. It wasn't too likely, but if any of the explosions from the seeds started any fires, I would need the Gyarados's help to put them out again.

    Fortunately, the attack went off without too much fuss. Snubbull was battered a good deal by several of the combustible seeds. It staggered about uncertainly for several seconds before it shook its head doggedly and rushed toward Fluff, its jaws wide open and its fangs glowing white. With a kick of its feet, it leaped up, sinking its fangs into Fluff's side and dragging her down several inches before letting go and falling to the ground. Fluff winced - Snubbull had a powerful bite. Fortunately, Fluff seemed to have gotten off without too much damage. I waited, watching curiously for Justin's next move.

    @VeloJello I feel so bad all these post are so short. But next time, I think my post will be a bit longer....-inb4 failure-

    ---

    Fluff had released her Seed Bomb attack on the now rather angry Snubbull. After a rather dazed and confused moment, Snubbull recomposed itself, shook it's head, and charged towards Fluff. As it charged, I saw it's teeth had begun glowing a bright white color, meaning it had charged it's teeth for a bite attack. As it closed in, it leaped up in the air; I wondered how something with no knees managed to pull that off. Regardless, it managed to sink it's chompers into Fluff's blue body. In pain, Fluff was forced downwards thanks to the added weight of a hanging Snubbull. Once she lowered enough, Snubbull released itself off of Fluff and fell to the ground.

    I thought this would be our time to strike, but I needed to think cautiously; Addie seemed concerned when I launched Seed Bomb. I wouldn't blame her, either, because those seeds are explosive in nature. So I needed to think of just the right moves to not only assure Fluff's and the Wood's safety, but also weaken Snubbull. It was then I came up with a really awesome plan.

    "Okay, Fluff, try to gain some lift and get high in the air!"

    Fluff obeyed and flung her arms to her sides. Utilizing the cold and crisp wind I kept complaining about earlier, Fluff did what her species did best: float. She eventually ascended up to a higher level then she originally was at when she was sent out. I just hoped Snubbull wasn't up to performing another of those physics defying jumps again. Now I plan on capitalizing on this height advantage by using Fluff's unique pool of long range attacks, a staple of any grass type.

    "That's the way! Now, please use your Giga Drain attack!"

    She then began sucking in more air, again; apparently, this is how a lot of Grass-type moves start. But, instead of a white orb forming, tiny green streaks were starting to fly into Flluff's tiny mouth. Giga Drain is a very unqiue attack in that it has the capability to physically take nutrients from the opponent, weakening them to a cetrain degree. But it doesn't stop there. Once Fluff absorbs these nutrients from her foe, she can heal herself using them. I just hope she can manage...

    OOC: Heh, you're doing good so far. But you may want to watch your verb tenses. ;)

    ~~~~~
    After Snubbull finished his Bite attack, Justin paused, frowning as he considered his next choice. He seemed like a very deliberate and thoughtful sort of guy. This could easily turn to his advantage... Or be his downfall. If you hesitated too long in a Pokemon battle, you ran the risk of giving the opponent an opening.
    However, just as Snubbull seemed to ready itself for another attack, Justin called out an order. "Okay, Fluff, try to gain some lift and get high in the air!"
    Fluff was happy to oblige. She spread her arms wide, riding the breeze higher into the air, until she floated even higher than she had flown before. This was a good tactic - Snubbull wouldn't be able to reach Fluff while she was up there, unless I was seriously mistaken. Justin incorporated this obvious advantage in his next move: "That's the way! Now, please use your Giga Drain attack!"
    Fluff opened her mouth once more, sucking in a gulp of air. Green motes of glowing energy spiraled around her open jaws. She closed her mouth, gulping down the spheres before opening her little maw again. This time, instead of inhaling, she let out three blasts of energy. At first, the blasts looked like lightning, but they were green and lasted much longer than any other lightning. Snubbull yelped with pain as the green beams struck him, draining away a portion of his energy and pulling it into Fluff's own body. Giga Drain was a powerful attack, and it left Snubbull dazed and Fluff revitalized with the energy she'd absorbed.
    By that time, Snubbull looked absolutely furious. He opened his jaws, and his fangs began to glow again. I thought that he was getting ready to use Bite again - but then I noticed that the glow was cyan rather than white. Snubbull was getting ready to unleash an Ice Fang.
    Most of the time, Ice Fang was done like the other Fang attacks: the user rushed its target before biting down on them. However, Ice Fang didn't play by the rules. A Pokemon using it could channel the attack into beams of ice that flew from their teeth, which was what Snubbull was doing. Twin rays of frigid energy lanced from Snubbull's mouth, zinging past Fluff, zapping her cottonballs and covering them in ice. She yelped in pain, flapping her arms wildly in an attempt to clear away the frost crystals. She began to lose height quickly, which was a problem. Justin would need to take care of it, and fast - because Snubbull was drawing near, its jaws blazing with fire as it prepared to back its previous attack up with a Fire Fang.
    @VeloJello Clever, ain't I?
    ---
    I thought my plan was absolute perfection: fly up high, then spam a bunch of grass type attacks. My plans were brought to a complete halt, however, when Snubbull was still trying to attack. It's jaw began glowing in a cyan hue, an obvious nod to an Ice Fang. Unfortunately, what i thought was going to be an instant fall-to-the ground for Snubbull became something much worse. Instead of the standard leap-and-bite, two ice rays shot from Snubbull's fangs. The beams traveled fast and struck Fluff's cotton balls with their chilling force.
    Fluff slowly began to descend, as the ice on her puffs was prevented her from gaining any lift. Snubbull seemed to take advantage of this situation by charging a flame within his teeth, an upcoming Fire Fang attack. I was beginning to wonder if Snubbull had access to every elemental fang, as I have seen it using two of the three. But this wasn't the time to be time to be thinking about this, because if I didn't slow Snubbull down soon...
    "That's the answer," I thought aloud. "Fluff, be quick! Use Cotton Spore to remove the ice-covered pieces of your puffs, then use Acrobatics for some damage!"
    Fluff quickly rose her icy puffs into the air and seemed to relax. As she did, insane amounts of cotton began flying off her three puffs, floating slowly towards Snubbull. This move's purpose is two fold: it will not only allow Fluff to fly again, since her puffballs will be ice free. Cotton Spore will also give her a opportunity of a sneak attack, as all this cotton is bound to confound Snubbull.
    The second part of my orders was then quickly initiated. Utilizing her cotton balls, Fluff slightly lifted herself off the ground, going at intense speeds. So intense, it looked like there was more than one Fluff present in these woods. She began circling around Snubbull at these speeds, and she would hopefully land the blow.
    OOC: Sorry this is taking too long. First life got in my way, and then I lost the post. SO. YEAH.
    Just as Snubbull was coming into striking range, Justin blurted out, "That's the answer. Fluff, be quick! Use Cotton Spore to remove the ice-covered pieces of your puffs, then use Acrobatics for some damage!"
    Fluff was happy to oblige. She began to shake her puffs back and forth, sending huge chunks of cotton flying - including the iced-over portions. Snubbull growled as the spores of cotton circled around him, clogging up his movements, barely letting him breathe thanks to how thick it was in the air. He stopped, attempting to half-wave, half-burn the cotton away with his Fire Fang attack.
    Wasting no time, Fluff launched into her next attack. While Snubbull was distracted, she rose higher into the air, circling around her target so quickly that her body began to blur with the movement. After a few seconds she came down on the unsuspecting Snubbull, slamming him backward and sending him tumbling head-over-heels across the clearing.
    After Fluff hit Snubbull, the pink Pokemon collapsed to the ground. For a second I was confused - there was no way that blow had knocked Snubbull out completely! But after a second, Snubbull lifted his head and glared at Fluff with glowing red eyes. Fluff's expression changed from determination to terror as fear held her paralyzed. I felt my stomach lurch as I realized just how bad a position Fluff was in.
    Snubbull seemed to realize this as well. He walked forward, growling at the paralyzed Fluff. She was still aloft, but barely - the Acrobatics attack had left her low, and she wasn't gaining any extra lift. Snubbull's fangs began to glow with bright red fire again as he closed in. Justin would have to act fast, I realized, if he wanted to save Fluff from harm. I watched him out the corner of my eye, hoping that he could snap Fluff out of her panic and be authoritative enough to order her out of danger.
