"Anyone want a job to take a trainer through Mt. Deckbi?" the receptionist asked. Normally a sea of hands would shoot right up into the sky, however this time everyone lowered their heads. Joe quickly zipped past a couple of desks and scrambled towards the toilets. There was a reason why some people didn't want to go to Mt. Deckbi. One, it is the most common place where Rangers take their trainers too. Two, It is very boring completing the same journey over and over again.

10 minuets later, Joe peeked his head out of toilet and scanned the room. Everyone's heads were buried into their work desks. Joe sneaked out and headed towards the front desk, hoping there would be some new runs available. As soon as he reached the front desk, he noticed a single file lying on the desk. Instantaneously, Joe leaped into the air and grabbed the file. As he stumbled up to his feet, he opened the file and studied the small piece of paper.

"Slowking, we are going to Botanic Gardens,"

OOC: Please forgive me if I make a major mistake. First run and everything. ;P

"Thank you so much!" a boy said underneath his mass of jet-black hair. He smiled at the receptionist kindly, his pale blue eyes only showing genuine happiness as he collected the various documents and receipts. It had costed him a few thousand Pokémon dollars, especially with the added cost of the Superballs. He had figured that he wouldn't need any healing items or something to help him find a particular Pokémon - his Pokémon were easily able to heal and he preferred to rely on luck when he was finding Pokémon, rather than anything else. Plus, he just wanted to enjoy the scenery as well - it was nice to get a change of location from the region of Johto, which he had explored so many times.

Pulling his fingerless gloves tighter on his hands, he placed the documents into his satchel. Flipping it shut once again, he called his Chimecho and Clefable to come along with him now that they would actually be walking. Argent was sure that Cassidy was able to learn Teleport, but he'd probably have to try to get her to learn that later for navigational purposes. For now, however, he'd stick to the good old-fashioned way of transport - by foot. Thanking the welcoming receptionist once again, he towards the door of the Registration Office, trembling with excitement - this was his first run through the Park, and he truly was feeling ecstatic at the opportunity to meet more Pokémon.

As he was about to walk out, he spotted a map of the National Park. He slapped his forehead - before going anywhere, he needed to actually know where he was going. Nearly tripping over himself as he walked to stand in front of the map, he glanced up at it. He knew he was headed for the Botanic Gardens - 'a wide open, plains-like area, bursting with hundreds of different kinds of plants'. He rather liked plants and Grass-type Pokémon, so this was a good place to start his experience within the National Park. Inspecting the map closely, he found that he'd have quite a long walk to get to the Botanic Gardens. Past a place called Meteor Valley, it said - and then into his plant-filled adventure!

Still excited, he strolled out of the door, a charming spring in his step and clear air in his nostrils. Chimey floated obediently by his side, whilst Cassidy was amusing herself by springing up into the air as she walked; like skipping, only she was floating high after each step. The trio was about to walk further, but a woman's sharp voice halted them. Turning to see the petite receptionist, Argent raised an eyebrow, his face suddenly paling. Had he done something wrong? Did he not pay enough or something?

Walking towards the receptionist, she shook her head at him, laughing slightly. The laughter's light-heartedness was enough to reassure Argent that something serious wasn't happening - he'd only made a small mistake.

"Silly you, huh? We have a teleportation room to take you to your location," she chirped, leading him back into the building. Giving him directions into a lobby, Argent set off - in the right direction this time. Heading down a very narrow corridor, he smiled brightly as he entered this bustling lobby. There were many trainers in this energetic room, some sitting around and some pacing. Lots of rangers were there with the trainers they were supposed to take, Argent guessed. But since his ranger wasn't there, what was he to do? Argent's immediate assumption was that he should just continue onto the teleportation pad by himself, and hopefully his ranger would be there.

There were eight doors, Argent noticed. Each was a different colour. The receptionist told him that he should go through the green door, and so that's what he did. Proceeding up the corridor behind that green door, Argent finally came into a small, circular room with a small circle on the floor. Tall blue beams of light emanated from the circle on the floor, and Argent realised that this was the teleportation pad on which he would be whisked to the Botanic Gardens. Calling Cassidy back into her Poké Ball, Argent hugged Chimey close to his chest. Bravely, he stepped into the ring, closing his eyes.

He didn't much enjoy the sensation of teleportation, to say the least. He felt like he was being forced through a tube made for a Diglett, and that his face was being peeled off. A split second later, however, the pressure stopped and Argent once more felt normal - or at least as normal as he could be. His cornflower-blue eyes opening, he glanced around himself. Taking in the sights fully, he breathed in deeply. This place was simply beautiful. The wild aromas of flowers, fresh grass and everything natural flowed into his being, and Argent was touched to the quick by the simplicity and loveliness of this one place in so remote an island.

The grass was about knee-high, and there were plenty of different flowers, bushes and trees all around. Argent could see various Berries growing. Chimey's eyes widened, and its mouth cracked into a truly delighted smile. Whizzing around in the air in a blue-and-red swirl, Chimey jingled energetically, whilst Argent looked around himself for the sign of his ranger - he was told that there was one coming for him. He stepped away from the spot in which he had landed, watching Chimey for the time being.

Joe started to walk down the narrow small dirt track that lead to the Botanic Gardens. Normally Joe would take the jeeps down towards this area of the park, but seeing as it was only just down the road, he decided to walk it. As he was walking along, he noticed a large opening in the distance, and inside the opening was a small wooden shack. Here so soon?

As Joe walked out, he noticed a medium height trainer with jet black hair sticking up, and a purple Pokemon floating around some leaves. Joe hurried up to the boy and said, "Argent Silverswift?"

However before Joe could get an answer, a small Pokemon floated it's way down from the skies. After it was floating down, Joe recognized the Pokemon and started to ponder in his mind. I why this Jumpluff isn't with a group, usually they fly together in a group.

Then suddenly a white flash appeared before Joe and a small purple Pokemon appeared before Joe. It stood up on it back legs and stuck it's belly out. The crown on it's head shone in the bright sunlight.

"I can answer that fool, Obviously it has been lost from a group and the reason why it is flying so low is because it has encountered cold air currents while it is floating.

"Thanks for your input Slowking" Joe said before turning to his trainer. The small Jumpluff landed on the floor besides Argent and looked up at the boy.

"Want to battle this Jumpluff?" Joe asked Argent.

"Argent Silverswift?" he heard a voice inquire.

Turning around, he saw someone dressed in a black baseball cap rushing towards him. By his side was a relatively small, pink Pokémon. By the grey object on its head that resembled a Shellder, Argent immediately recognised it as a Slowking. Smiling at them both widely, he politely shook Joe's hand, Cassidy attempting to mirror Argent's movements by taking Slowking's hand and shaking it also.

Argent laughed at his Pokémon, withdrawing his hand from Joe's. "Hi! Yes, I'm Argent Silverswift. I take it that you're my ranger? Oh, and please excuse both of my Pokémon. They're a very enthusiastic pair."

After Argent's small introduction, Joe seemed to look up at the sky, almost as if something was there. Argent, squinting and placing a hand to his head, almost as if saluting. However, it was really just to keep the sun out of his glinting blue eyes as he watched a small, round creature floating down from seemingly nowhere. It was a light blue colour, and it had three creamy balls sticking out of its body.

"Thanks for your input, Slowking," he heard Joe say dryly. Glancing over his shoulder and raising an eyebrow at Joe, he smiled warmly. Maybe this one had some kind of mental problem. Argent definitely had not heard his Slowking speak. Maybe it was a psychic link or something.

Almost as if she had plucked the thought from her trainer's mind, Chimey floated down to beside her trainer. Over the years of friendship with his Chimecho, Argent had learned to interpret Chimey's different jingles, and could understand her with little to no bother. Argent looked up to Chimey as she jingled softly at him.

It was a psychic link, Argent. Those are very common around these places, I suppose! Psychic links would be very useful in some situations, probably. Don't make any remarks about this Ranger's sanity, though. It's not very polite. I'm sure you won't slip up.

"Of course, Chimey," Argent replied, without thinking.

Watching as the Jumpluff hit the earth beneath, Argent smiled down at the creature kindly. It certainly looked cute, but Argent felt sorry for it. Jumpluff weren't usually found on their own like this. Even if there weren't any other Jumpluff with it, it would probably have a bunch of Skiploom or Hoppip accompanying it. It had also probably caught a cold draft, which was possibly the reason why it had chosen to come down from the air.

"Want to battle this Jumpluff?" Joe's voice came.

"Battle? Hm, I don't think so. But I hope we're not going to leave it on its own like this. We should take it with us, just in case we see its group, or manage to get it flying on a warm wind so that it can get back to its group. What do you think?"

Argent was prone to kind suggestions such as this. He worried too much about things, and wanted the best for everyone.

Joe nodded and pointed Argent towards another small dirt track that was surrounded by a line of trees. The Jumpluff quickly floated into the air and landed on the top of Argent's hair. Maybe soon they can find Jumpluff's group. Normally Jumpluff don't leave their groups, but when they do, they are not to far away from them.

The group continued to walk down the small tight dirt path leading towards a small open lake. It is said that this is the largest lake in Botanic Gardens. It has fertile grass which provide food for many herbivore Pokemon. The gentle sparkly water supplies water and bath for many wild Pokemon. This place is one of the huge hub's around the Botanic Gardens. Maybe we can find Jumpluff's group

As the entered the lake, Joe noticed in the corner of his eye a group of Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff sitting on the grass resting. Immediately the Jumpluff flew off from Argent head and floated towards the group.

"Looks like it found his group," Joe said staring at the floating Jumpluff making it's way to the group. Joe turned towards Argent and said, "So what Pokemon do you want to meet?"

At this time, Slowking started to walk towards the group of Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff. As soon as he was close enough, he started to pull funny faces towards the Pokemon. The sudden change of expression on the Pokemon's faces changed and started to fire small green seeds at Slowking. As soon as Joe saw this, he ran towards Slowking and said, "Cut it out, we need to work on your manners"

Joe managed to divert the group back to their resting spot before one small Hoppip flew out from the group and landed besides Joe. He looked up and examined both faces of Joe and Argent. Then opened it's mouth and fired more green seed's towards Argent's face.

"Wow, looks like this fella like you, want to battle it?" Joe asked.

Joe seemed to agree with Argent's plan, pointing out another route to Argent and then walking down it himself. It was a dusty path, made mostly out of plain, rich brown earth. On each side of it was a line of the most beautiful trees Argent had seen. This was certainly an idyllic spot. Sniffing in the almost summery air as he proceeded down the path after Joe, Argent's spirits were very much uplifted.

What was also surprising was that Jumpluff seemed to agree with his plans, too. It had landed on his head with approval, not really overwhelming Argent with its weight - Chimey used to wrap herself around his head in the same manner; then again, Chimey was substantially lighter than this Jumpluff. It was a nice change of company, however, Argent observed. He had never trained a Grass-type before, and a fully-evolved one almost coming to him to be his friend was most likely a rare experience for any trainer.

Cassidy skipping behind Argent absent-mindedly, she stopped once in a while to investigate the trees with a seemingly unsatisfiable curiosity. Whenever she had finished investigating a certain tree, however, she decided that trees were a good way of getting from place to place. Still trying to keep in Argent's sight, she would jump from tree to tree, daintily landing on the top of each one with about as much effort as anyone would spend breathing. She seemed to be enjoying the nice day, just like Argent himself was. However, she was a rather jolly being, so not much could get her down anyway.

Continuing down the dirt path a bit more, they eventually came out into a rather large opening, another breathtaking sight for Argent to see. There was a large pool of water in the centre of the opening, pristine and crystal-clear. Grass surrounded the rest of the place - long, emerald blades that looked like it could easily provide food for many Miltank, Tauros or hungry Rapidash. The pool itself was what Argent really admired about this area - if he had brought a swimsuit with him, he'd probably have begged his Ranger to allow him to have a swim in the cooling water.

Argent's hesitancy in no way applied to Cassidy, who, when she saw the water, went starry-eyed and giggled incomprehensibly. She leapt off of the tree she had been perched on, bounding through the grass with a certain happy impulsiveness. As soon as she got to the very edge of the pool, she rose up into the air as high as she could reach, coming back down into the water lightly. Argent once again smiled at the carefree Pokémon. Although Argent had finished his Johto and Kanto conquests many years ago, and had quite a while to adventure wherever he liked since, he had lost his passion for travelling anywhere after seeing all of the Hoenn region. However, within him now was that passion reignited. He wondered in that moment where else he could go. The world was full of possibilities.

Argent's attention was taken from watching his Clefable splash around in the water by Joe's Slowking, who was making faces towards something. Looking in the direction that the Slowking was looking in, he spotted a small, light pink creature. It was a Hoppip, he could see that easily enough. He could feel Jumpluff itching to get closer to the Hoppip; if it didn't want to go, however, Argent wasn't going to push it. Opening its mouth, the Hoppip fired off a few seeds at Slowking, who was starting to walk at the Hoppip now. Joe quickly rushed between the two to stop a fight from breaking out.

That was when Argent spotted the rest of the group. There was more than one Hoppip, that was for sure. Argent could now see that there was a few green creatures, too, with helicopter-like flowers on their heads - Skiploom. There were also many Jumpluff accompanying the rest of them, too. Argent smiled - it was lucky enough that they had found the Jumpluff's group before they could go too far.

Jumpluff pushed lightly from Argent's hair, making small, happy noises as it floated gently down towards its companions. Argent brushed a few cotton spores out of his hair, scratching at the back of his head as he watched the sweet reunion between the group. The Hoppip who had been firing off seeds towards Slowking now shot a few in his direction, but it seemed that Chimey had sharp reflexes. With a flick of the ribbon-like tail attached to the underside of her body, the seeds became outlined in purple and launched away from Argent's face.

"Wow, looks like this fella' likes you, want to battle it?" Joe asked inquisitively.

"Hm, no thanks, Joe. We've only just reunited that Jumpluff with its group - I wouldn't want to take another member of the group away just as another is returned. We should maybe continue on?"

"Sounds like a plan," Joe said before turning around towards the lake. Joe stood there and gazed at the river. A small Zigzagoon started to storm through the lakes water trying to scare some other Zigzagoon's. Joe chuckled before noticed a small Munchlax sitting besides the water edge, trying to dip it's small feet into the water. It would lower itself so the feet would be inches above the water and then stop before raising himself back to the water bank.

Joe walked over to the small Munchalx and knelt down so he was head height. The small Munchlax looked up at Joe and suddenly leaped into his arms. Joe smiled before wrapping his hands around the small normal Pokemon. Slowking looked bewildered and poked Joe in the sides. Joe withdrew his hands and started to explain to Slowking, "This Slowking is Munchlax, he was the first every Pokemon I encountered in the Park. I couldn't take it with me because I was not strong back in the old days. I wanted to meet up with it however I have been so busy lately"

Munchlax nodded and stood away from Joe and stood in a battle pose, thinking he was going to fight Joe. Joe turned to Munchlax and said, "It's not me who you should be fighting, how about you battle Argent. I am sure he will give you love like I would"

"Sounds like a plan," approved Joe, turning towards the lake once more.

Argent smiled as he watched the wild Jumpluff, Skiploom and Hoppip float away gracefully, the Jumpluff he had befriended smiling, quite grateful for helping it. A small, brown-and-cream Pokémon was zipping through the water, evidently trying to scare some others up on the bank. It was a Zigzagoon. Argent smiled at its actions, obviously entertained by the way it twisted through the water, trying to trick the other Pokémon sharing its species into being scared. For a few moments, Argent watched peacefully as the Zigzagoon zipped around in odd, snappy movements, giving the other Pokémon jitters as it pulled funny faces and made sharp noises to scare them all. Obviously that one was a troublemaker, but Argent's kind heart could see past the bad in anything, so Argent evidently saw this as harmless activity - which, of course, it probably was.

All the while, Cassidy was still splashing around in the water energetically, sometimes daring to dive underwater to see if she could spot anything special, like a valuable item someone may have dropped into the water. Spiralling downwards, she meticulously scanned the bed of the lake, but did not find anything particularly interesting. Pushing off from the bottom, she shot towards the surface of the sparkling water like a bullet. As she hit the surface, she found herself high in the air - but, since she couldn't hover or fly, she did not stay there. Plummeting back down, she landed in the water with a large splash, causing the hem of Argent's trousers to get soaked. Not really minding so much, Argent grinned towards the Fairy Pokémon, who clapped her hands together cheerfully at Argent, dipping back down under the water to perform it over again. Cassidy was often prone to repetitiveness like this, especially if she found what she was doing rather fun - she was easily amused, however, so she often found things fun.

Chimey found herself completely distracted by her surroundings. Jingling happily, she observed with great detail what was going on around her. The Zigzagoon were rather charming, and she liked how the group of Hoppip and its evolutionary line were thankful for how Argent had got one of the Jumpluff back to them - she liked politeness. Chimey, hovering absent-mindedly, swished her red-tipped tail from side to side, almost lost in thought as she seemed focused on everything around her. Cassidy splashed, the pristine water dripping everywhere. The Zigzagoon tricked its friends, their eyes going wild at the sight of its movements. Argent was warmly smiling at the Zigzagoon, his blue eyes seeming to be lost in thought as he surveyed his surroundings too. Her eyes met Argent's, and Chimey found herself jingling a noise that almost sounded like giggling. She was smiling at him, also. She had almost forgotten how much she liked her trainer.

Then, Argent's eyes seemed to look past her and focus on something else. Whirling herself around, Chimey looked upon the man who was escorting Argent around this wonderful place. He had crouched down, and seemed to be hugging something. The Slowking who accompanied him seemed to be lost for words as his trainer showed affection to something else which the Slowking hadn't probably seen before. Chimey, if placed in a situation like that with Argent, would probably be just as confused. Curious, Chimey floated gently over to the man, and looked over his head, making sure not to touch him so as not to disturb what he was doing. In this man's embrace was a small creature, mostly a blue colour from what Chimey could see. As Joe backed away, Chimey made sure to float backwards as well. Then, peering over his shoulder, she spotted what he was looking at - a Munchlax. She only just recognised the creature.

A bipedal creature, the Munchlax simply stood, looking towards Joe with adoration of some sort. Chimey could see that the majority of this creature's body was teal-coloured, with a creamy spot in the centre of his chest or belly. The teal fur was extremely long and looked quite shaggy, especially looking too long when it got near its feet. The cream spot, however, looked extremely smooth, as if there was no fur there (which, perhaps, there wasn't). Its eyes were rather large and, perhaps only a little, devoid of thought. Its ears were also teal, large and pointy. The Munchlax's mouth was closed, Chimey observing that it had two sharp teeth that stuck out even then. Its hands had five fingers, and its feet were round and had three claws on each. The small creature bemused Chimey, if she was honest with herself, which she usually was. She liked honesty as well as liking politeness, and it was a policy of hers to be honest, kind, polite and generally all-around good. She could be sarcastic sometimes, however, but only when teasing Argent.

"This, Slowking, is Munchlax," Joe was saying as Chimey floated back to her trainer. "He was the very first Pokémon I encountered in the Park. I couldn't take it with me because I was not strong back in the old days. I wanted to meet up with it - however, I have been very busy lately."

Oddly enough, the Munchlax took a step back from Joe warily. It seemed to try to get itself into a battle stance, which looked rather ridiculous in Chimey's eyes. It was all she could do to stop herself from laughing out at it. It had one arm raised above its head, the other pressed out as if trying to push at a wall, and one of its feet raised awkwardly, as if it was trying to be one of those karate trainers that Chimey had seen once in a film. The Munchlax seemed to think it was about to battle Joe, but Joe seemed to decline the fight.

"It's not me you should be fighting. How about you fight Argent? I am sure he will give you love like I would."

Trying to push the innuendo side of that out of his head, Argent smiled kindly towards the Munchlax, it still in its awkward battle pose. Argent nodded, almost as if recognising something. He felt something click in his brain, and just instinctively knew that he wanted this Munchlax - he wanted to train it and care for it, to battle with it. He could easily become the best with it and bring out its full potential. So, with that thought, he decided he would battle - and hopefully capture - this Big Eater Pokémon. After all, he hadn't battled anything yet, and he had came here mainly to battle and capture Pokémon. Why not start now?

"Okay, Joe! I think I will battle this Munchlax. It's certainly a cute one, and it'd make a good addition to my team." Glancing over at Cassidy, he decided not to bother her yet. Calling Chimey into battle, he thrust his arm out as he issued his first string of commands.

"Now, Chimey, firstly, I think you should use Thunder Wave on the Munchlax to paralyse it and slow it down, so we'll have more time to think and move. Once it's slowed, let's use Calm Mind to make your attacks a bit stronger and to protect against any it might pit against us. Finally, after that, we'll use Energy Ball to see if we can test the boundaries of this little one's strengths! Okay?"

This is going to be SO fun, Argent! Let's go! Her jingle had a tone of confidence and optimism in it, a particular tone which Argent enjoyed hearing, especially just before a battle.

    "Good, Chimey! Now, let's go!"

How clever of you to have found me here,
perhaps this next clue is one to fear.
Now here's a harder task for you to do:
In a place where you can find technical moves,
go and find posts from the 17th of April [last],
you'll see the clue tucked in a Soothe Bell.

[April and Bell rhyme slightly. Bear with me, I'm a criminal!]

Wow, that looks like a lot of moves for one Pokemon to use, hopefully she won't crack under pressure

"You worry to much, lighten up for a change"

Joe turned around and gazed upon the battle that was taking shape. The determination of Munchlax face was priceless, it started to bite it's lip and widen its eyes. Surely it was ready for the battle. Chimey also looked very excited and jingled her bells in excitement.

"Good, Chimey! Now, let's go!" Argent said to his Pokemon.

Chimecho started first and started to wave her tail in a circular motion. In the middle of this circle, a small yellow ring started to appear. As Chimecho's tail started to spin faster, the small yellow ring increase in size. Soon later, Chimecho fired the large yellow ring towards Munchlax. As the ring was in mid air, it started to emit small amounts of electricity. The move Thunder Wave varied from Pokemon, some Pokemon would opened their mouths wide open and fire small rings of electricity towards their opponent. Other Pokemon would smack their tail on the ground producing electrical waves from the tip of their tail. As soon as the tail would be in contact with the ground, the electrical impulse would disperse, like an earthquake's epicenter and the waves dispersing out through the ground. It seemed that Chimecho's approach was quiet different from most other Pokemon.

As soon as the large electric rings hit Munchlax, the small bipedal creature was suddenly consumed by the rings and started to produce small electrical sparks from it's body. The move Thunder Wave has two advantages, one is that is paralyses the Pokemon and the second reason is that it immobilizes it's movement, making it hard to dodge attacks. Munchlax quickly jabbed his left arm into his body fur and started to move around trying to find something. After a while of searching, Munchlax removed his hand and held a small red berry with a thin root sticking out from the top. Without any haste, Munchlax chucked the small berry into the air and caught it in its mouth. Suddenly the sparks emitting from Munchlax's body started to fade and then moments later, Munchlax was as fine as before.

I guess this Munchlax has a lot of berries in his fur.

Suddenly, Chimecho started to glow in a light blue colour, a shiny coat appeared and started to cover the whole body of Chimecho. This was the work of Calm Mind. It created a small thin blue layer which would it would boost the Special Defense of a Pokemon and also it boost the Special Attack. Munchlax however started to grab his toes tight into his body and curl into a tight ball. As he did this, a small thin grey lining covered Munchlax. It almost looked like a small steel ball. Joe knew that Munchlax had just used Defense Curl, an Attack that boosted the Defense of a Pokemon.

If Munchlax just used that move then I know what will happen next, Chimecho needs to be careful or it might get hurt

Chimecho started to dance in the air, just as it was about to attack. Then it started to spin it's tail, almost exactly like when it created those Thunder Wave's. However instead of a yellow ring being produced, She started to create a large green orb, with a sparkling star like shape in the middle. As soon as it was ready to be fired, part of the lining from Chimecho's body started to line the ball, making it bigger. This was the affect of Calm Mind, it would increase the power of the Energy Ball. Soon, Chimecho fired the larger Energy Ball towards the tucked up Munchlax. The large orb smashed into Munchlax, who at the time was still in it's ball shape. The Munchlax was sent flying into the air, but however it started to spin as it was mid way in the air. The Munchlax bombed down and directed itself towards the ground.

The speed of the Munchlax was incredible and soon as it made contact with the ground, it started to roll towards Chimecho. The rolling Munchlax picked up speed as it rolled around. It was also a force to be reckoned with.

That is a very good tactic. You see Slowking, Defense Curl increases the defense of a Pokemon but when that Pokemon uses Rollout, it will increase the power of the attack. At the moment, this Munchlax might pack a punch to Chimecho

"Let's hope Argent can do something about it"

The rolling Munchlax continued to race around the field and then suddenly turned towards Chimecho and directed itself towards her. The rolling Munchlax crashed into Chimecho sending her flying through the air. She crashed into the ground, a dust cloud erupted from around her. All you can see is Munchalx rolling around the playing field.

    OOC: Male, please. :}

As soon as Argent had issued his commands, the Munchlax's face distorted into one of extreme determination. It bit its lip as it focused. Chimey, jingling, had floated closer to the Munchlax.

    Then, the battle had began.

Chimey, overexcited as usual, whipped her ribbon-like tail around in a circular motion, causing her to emit some noise from time to time. Then, there was a yellow energy forming in a circle as she traced the shape over and over again. As the outline grew stronger, Argent noted that it began to crackle with electricity. Argent had taught her to use it this way, as it was extremely unexpected and kept the opponent guessing what was going on until the attack hit. Argent, smirking, watched Chimey as she released the paralysing ring of electricity towards the Munchlax, who seemed to be awaiting Chimey's move before making one of his own.

The ring bolted towards Munchlax, who appeared to make no effort at all to move. He stood there, seemingly dumbfounded, at the yellow ring which collided with his body. As soon as it had clashed into his fur, a yellow colour spiralled around his body, crackling with electricity also. Munchlax was paralysed - Argent could see that clearly enough. However, he moved one of his hands, delving into his fur with quite a lot of agility considering his condition. He smiled deviously as he pulled out a round object, which Argent could only guess was a berry. He threw it up high into the air. When it came back down, he opened his large mouth wide and the berry zipped straight into his gullet. Munchlax swallowed, and the effect was almost instantaneous. Within seconds of eating the berry, the indications of paralysis that had been slowly spiralling around his body faded out of existence.

The Munchlax was no longer paralysed. Argent whistled in surprise, slapping his hand onto his thigh. Thunder Wave, on the whole, had failed. It had barely even stalled Munchlax.

"It's okay, Chimey!" Argent cheered encouragingly, waving one of his arms in the air. "Keep going!"

Spurred on by his words, Chimey closed her eyes for a brief moment, and, starting at the sucker object on her head, a blue energy seemed to ripple down her body. The light blue energy could only be described as wonderful. It was the effect of Chimey's Calm Mind move, one that would boost the attack of any special moves she could throw at the Big Eater Pokémon, yet also protecting her from any moves that he could pit against her, just as Argent had planned. Argent hoped now that Chimey would move onto her next move, undisturbed by any strange berry that Munchlax would be able to produce from the depths of his fur.

Of course, the Munchlax once again had something else up his sleeve. He bent over and grabbed onto his feet, toppling down as he pulled them up close to his chest. How something quite chubby could do a flexible feat like that was anyone's guess. However, Argent knew what Munchlax was doing - it was a Defense Curl, used to raise Munchlax's vulnerability to physical attacks that Chimey could have used against him, such as Double-Edge. Physical attacking wasn't really Chimey's forte, though, but Munchlax couldn't have known that. However, Argent's suspicions had been raised that the Munchlax was using this move for some other purpose that evaded him at the time.

Chimey wasn't going to waste her time wondering what Munchlax was doing, however. Spinning her tail once more like she mostly did for projectile attacks such as the 'Ball' moves in that circular motion, Chimey grinned towards the Munchlax's unseeing eyes (unseeing due to the fact that they weren't even looking at her, but rather concentrated somewhere else seeing as he was in a tight ball). Instead of the electrical ring that her tail had produced last time, however, a green orb formed in the spinning red-tipped vortex that was her tail. Argent cheered her on once more as she charged up the attack, only to release it moments later towards the Munchlax.

The green orb, spinning as it whizzed towards the Munchlax, glinted in the bright sunlight up ahead. Argent noted that the other Pokémon had settled down to watch what was going on - excluding Cassidy for the time being. She was too busy dipping in and out of the water. Better to leave her to play instead of rousing her for no need right now, though. Even the bunch of Zigzagoon had calmed down to watch the battle between the small and lightweight Wind Chime Pokémon and the massively heavy, teal-coloured Big Eater Pokémon. Argent was okay with how the battle had been going so far, apart from the failure of the Thunder Wave. He'd have to step up his game - this Munchlax was smarter than he had anticipated. Argent was sure that he could come up with some counter-strategies to the opponent's moves. His battling skill was fairly good - Argent was a fairly experienced Pokémon Trainer, after all. It just wouldn't do to lose to a Pokémon like this.

The Energy Ball attack slammed into the Munchlax without warning to him, knocking him out of his tight ball position and sending him flying through the air. Even as he was in the air, he span with incredible speed as he plummeted at rocket-speeds towards the hard, hard ground. On collision with the ground, Argent found that the Munchlax was still rolling with unbelievable speed. It directed its path towards Chimey, and Argent only realised now why the Munchlax had used the Defense Curl. After using the Defense Curl move, the attack of its Rollout move would be much, much more powerful! If only Argent had realised this before. He gasped in disbelief as Munchlax rolled at high speeds towards Chimey, almost sure to make a crash at any moment. Chimey seemed almost confused as the Munchlax rolled his way towards her. It seemed to miss her or something, but then, catching her unaware, it took the opportunity to bomb into her.

"Chimey, watch out!" Argent cried, watching as his opponent's movements suddenly change. But it was too late.

Argent saw the light blue body of his companion sail through the air, to land in some grass somewhere else. However, she didn't seem too hurt by the attack, as her head popped back up moments later and she rose into the air, levitating still as she floated back to Argent's side. Chimey confidently assured her trainer that she was okay, but Argent could never have been too sure. Unfortunately, Chimey's attack hadn't hurt Munchlax much either. He was still rolling about like the mad thing he was, the eyes of the various wild Pokémon following his crazy movements. Argent would have to be more careful. This one was devious.

Argent, I think I know what we should do, Chimey piped up. I could get him out of that Rollout by holding him up with my Psychic. It'll give me control of him, if only for a few moments. It is up to you what I should do, however.

"Okay, then, Chimey. We should go with your suggestion, but I'll add something else on. First, try to see if you can hold him up in the air for a few moments with your Psychic. After that, I'm sure you can delve into his mind and damage him a bit with Extrasensory. It should be easy enough to multitask two Psychic-type moves at once. Once the Extrasensory is over, quickly slam him into the ground. We'll see what he does then, and take more appropriate action."

At this moment, Cassidy chose to actually pay attention to what was going on. Finishing her final splash, she paddled up to the side of the body of water and pulled herself onto the bank, dripping with water as she observed the battle between Argent and the wild Munchlax. Clapping her hands to support her teammate, Chimey, she danced her way over to Argent and stood by his side, shouting support to Chimey as she floated in front of him to perform his next few commands. Cassidy was sure that the Chimecho she had known for so many years could pull this off for Argent. It would be fun to have a new Pokémon to play with, and Cassidy was sure that if Argent caught this Pokémon, she'd have lots of fun with him.

Chimey, floating in front of Argent, watched the Pokémon who was rolling around, laughing merrily at him as she began to be outlined in a faint pink energy, ready to unleash it upon the Munchlax at any moment, to start the new string of commands that Argent had gave her. All in all, this battle was only getting started, and Chimey was very excited about the prospects of it.

Chimecho nodded and then suddenly started to focus onto the rolling Pokemon, circling the field. Within an instant, the Munchlax was lifted into the air and continued to spin. Then it stopped spinning however still retained his form. It must have been a lot of strain on Chimecho, trying to lift 231 pound Pokemon. The strain took it's turn and suddenly Munchlax started to be gradually lowered down towards the floor. It looked like Chimecho didn't have the psychic abilities to lift Munchlax.

Soon Munchlax crashed to the floor and turned around and faced Chimecho. Before Munchlax could attack, Chimecho produced a purple wave that bombarded towards Munchlax. The purple waves hit Munchlax and started to cause some problems for the Big Eater Pokemon. Munchlax started to hold his ears almost like something was inside him, hurting him from the inside.

Munchlax turned towards Chimecho and held his hands outwards. In between his hands a small black orb appeared. Then Munchlax fired the small black orb towards Chimecho. Wow, did Munchlax just use Shadow Ball?

    "Indeed he did"

The black orb collided with Chimecho and sent her crashing into the ground. It looked like both Pokemon had dealt a lot of damage this round.

Watching as Chimey had once more floated in front of him, Argent breathed out nervously. Chimey, glowing faintly pink, watched as Munchlax rolled about. However, within a few moments, she unleashed her psychic energy upon him, giving her control over his movements for a few brief moments. The Big Eater Pokémon was slowly raised into the air - almost too slowly, Argent noted. Concerned, Argent watched as Chimey raised the opponent high into the air with apparent strain - Chimey usually had strong psychic powers. Why were they failing her now? Even if Munchlax was really heavy, she wouldn't have that much trouble trying to lift him. Argent simply shrugged as the Pokémon was lowered back to the floor, the pink psychic energy around him fading as he touched the ground. The attack had seemingly left him dazed, however, as he took a few moments to recover from the Psychic attack. Chimey smugly watched as he stumbled slightly, but yet not wasting the moment.

Argent looked up at the sky mid-battle. He sighed, disappointed that his strategy turned out to not work. Chimey didn't have the energy to lift Munchlax at the moment, but Argent was definitely never going to push her past a limit that she was not comfortable with. After all, this battle was not a matter of life and death - he could handle this easily if it did depend on such circumstances. Raising his chin up defiantly, he waved his left arm supportively, cupping his right hand around his mouth as he still cheered for Chimey. He managed to put a brave face on everything, even if it unnerved him or disappointed him. Noticing the actions of her trainer, Cassidy smiled and also cheered with small fractions of speech - mainly "Fable!" and "Clef!". She leapt up and down on the spot, her arms waving madly in the air as she hoped for her friend to succeed in this battle.

Before Munchlax could come back with an attack of his own since he hadn't fully recovered, Chimey took the opportunity to attack Munchlax back once more. Waving her stubby arms with apparent ease, she created a dark wave which spiralled between the tips of her arms. Taking up the chance to get in an easy hit, Chimey had shot this wave at the teal Pokémon at a high speed. On collision, Munchlax was thrown backwards slightly, yet he did not crash to the floor. Rather, he looked to be in some kind of other pain. Holding his hands up to his protruding ears as he squeezed his eyes shut, Munchlax shook his head as it seemed to be suffering from some kind of pain in the inside. Argent mechanically placed a hand in front of his mouth in surprise. He didn't want to cause too much real pain to the Munchlax. Argent shrugged again, however. It would probably pass in a few moments.

Looking around himself once more, Argent surveyed his surroundings with inexplicable interest in what was going around him. Scrutinising it as if trying to get some kind of plan together that would utterly take out the Munchlax and make it easily caught, words escaped from Argent's mouth, still supportive but without conviction as he was busy concentrating on something else. Chimey looked back at him sharply, but realised that Argent was busy trying to come up with something else. Turning her head back to the battle, she waved her arms happily, almost as if encouraging Munchlax to attack her. That kind of behaviour usually confused a lot of people, but Chimey was just a nice being. She'd help someone out at any time. Argent simply didn't get it himself, in fact. However, he was on the whole glad that his Pokémon could display such vibrant personalities, and it was one of the factors that put a peculiar spark into his life every now and then when he thought about it.

As Argent had guessed, Munchlax had recovered in a short amount of time. However, he began to launch an attack that Argent hadn't been expecting. Placing his hands away from each other slightly, Munchlax began to form a dark purple orb in the middle of his hands. Argent gasped as he watched it grow bigger. How was this happening? Argent didn't even know that Munchlax could learn... Shadow Ball. Once it had came to its maximum size, Munchlax thrust his arms out, launching the ball towards Chimey once more. It spun extremely quickly as it smashed into Chimey, dissipating on contact. Chimey was launched through the air once more and landed hard on the ground. Struggling slightly as she was lifted back up, Argent sighed in a resigned kind of way, although he definitely was not going to give up on trying to catch this Pokémon. Whilst he didn't want Chimey to get hurt, he was a resilient kind of person. Even if Chimey got seriously hurt, Cassidy could heal her up pretty quickly with Softboiled.

After checking that Chimey was okay, Argent's eyes grew steely as he looked towards the Munchlax. Cassidy clapped encouragingly once more as Chimey once more floated in front of Argent. Argent smirked, ready to launch his next attack on the Munchlax. He thought it was time to launch a combo now, something that would maybe confuse him, throw him off balance. Argent thrust his palm out as he usually did - for a reason that was unknown to him. It just felt right, and a bit of drama was never out of place.

It was time for a semi-complex combination, Argent decided. Looking at the small lake that was almost completely still, he surveyed it with some kind of interest.

"Okay, Chimey! Listen up. I want you to use Entrainment on the Munchlax. It'll be pretty easy to get to him, as he seems rather slow. It'll catch him off balance - he won't be used to floating in the air like you are. Whilst he's busy trying to steady himself, with some hope we can double up your Extrasensory attack with a Thunder Wave. That'll both damage and paralyse him, so we can get his health down without him being so much of a threat. However, if at any time he tries to attack, dodge out of the way of it! We can't have you being hurt much more. After dodging anything, try to continue on with what you're doing."

This will be quite tough, Argent.

"I know that, Chimey. I really hope you'll make it work. Are you ready?"

Of course! As usual, Chimey was optimistic.

    "Then let's do it!"

Chimey seemingly chimed away as a way of agreement then turned around and faced the small plump Munchlax. She closed her eyes and focused on the small big eater Pokemon. Joe noticed that she was concentrating largely and then suddenly she quickly whipped the eyes open. The pupil of the Pokemon dramatically turned from blue into dark gray. Joe caught sight of something in the corner of his and swiveled around and stared directly at Munchlax. A gray mystical aura surrounded the Munchlax. All sense of colour vanished into thick air. Joe looked puzzled and then turned to Slowking and asked, "What on earth was that?"

"That Master Joe, was Entrainment, a move that temporarily changes the target's ability to match the user's. If I guess correctly, Argent will try and paralyze the Munchlax and make it easier to capture"

    Interesting

The colorless Munchlax quickly moved next by forming a orb in his hands, almost the same way as he started the Energy Ball move. However the difference was that this orb was quiet smaller and wasn't green, however it was dark ocean blue colour. Instead of firing the small blue orb towards Chimecho, Munchlax fired the small orb into the clear blue sky. As the small orb touched the one of the few floating clouds, disappeared into the cloud. Suddenly, the small cloud grew even larger and started to change colour into a darker colour, more like the same colour of Munchlax. Then droplets of water poured from the sky and landed on the dry grassy ground. The small Munchlax smirked at Chimecho as the rain drops slowly dribbled down the plump face of Munchlax.

Munchlax seem's to be enjoying this.

Joe quickly reached into his bag and withdrew a small yellow florescent rain coat and placed it over his clothes. He withdrew another on and asked Argent if he wanted it. Just as Joe offered, Chimecho quickly attacked Munchlax. She closed her eyes again and concentrated on Munchlax. However this time as she opened her eyes they changed colour from blue into a dark purple colour. Then she raised her lower-end of her body and rotated it in a anti-clockwise moment. As she was rotating, a couple of small thin waves were produced and were sent in the direction of Munchlax. The waves penetrated through the thick skin of Munchlax and went to his brain. Munchlax held his brain as the waves were bouncing around in his head.

As Munchlax was having problems, Chimecho stopped producing purple thin waves and then started to produce thick yellow bolt-like waves that bombarded towards Munchlax. The thick yellow waves surrounded Munchlax, sticking onto his skin like glue. The Munchlax was now paralyzed and could not do anything about it.

After the wringing in his head had stopped, Munchlax finally managed to attack Chimecho. He held his arms out and powered a large orb that started to produce sparks. Then after powering up the move, Munchlax unleashed the energy that was stored up and directed it towards Chimecho. The bolt of electricity danced through the rain and then crashed into Chimecho.

Did Munchlax just use the Rain Dance plus Thunder combo?

Argent could only help but watch the situation unfold before his eyes, his commands to be carried out in the best way they could by the youthful Chimecho - a Chimecho whose health was steadily getting worse due to the constant, merciless onslaught of attacks from the surprisingly strong Munchlax. Argent couldn't have anticipated that the Munchlax would have proven to be such a challenge, both for his imaginative mind and his Chimecho's skill in battle - Chimey seemed to be holding up with the strain, however, and would plough on with the battle regardless of whatever situations may pop up, simply because she was a strong-willed individual, who could stand up to whatever was in her way. Argent knew that the battle was drawing to a close, as both Pokémon were, in fact, getting more and more damaged and weary of each other as the time passed. After this "round", Argent believed that maybe he could be able to capture this Munchlax for his very own, and then move on to whatever else was in store!

Since Chimey was facing away from Argent, her lifelong friend did not notice the sharp greyscale effect that came over her eyes as she regarded the Munchlax, making her irises completely grey. She seemed to be able to see in colour, however, because she was undeterred as she held this gaze with the Munchlax for a few brief moments. Suddenly - or so it seemed to Argent - the Munchlax's body became outlined in a fuzzy grey glow, and Argent now realised that this was Entrainment taking effect upon his opponent. As predicted, Munchlax was hoisted into the air by this nifty trick, but seemed relatively okay with it - Argent hadn't anticipated this, either. However, even if Munchlax could cope with this easily, Argent was quite sure that the Big Eater Pokémon wouldn't be able to move very well in mid-air, seeing as there would have been no practise for him before to be able to perform any kind of aerial navigation - he didn't have any moves that allowed him to levitate or fly, he didn't have any kind of ability to allow this and he definitely did not have any physical benefits that may have allowed him to hover.

Munchlax, of course, did have plans of his own, although Argent wouldn't be expecting these either - he was kind of lagging behind with the whole prediction thing on this day, seemingly enough. Argent's smile wavered slightly as he saw that the Munchlax was twisting his arms around on the spot, his paws of sorts generating a kind of blue energy between them, which formed into an elegant, rich blue orb. Whilst Argent mused about the Munchlax's apparent obsession with using "orb-related" moves, the Munchlax had successfully flung this sphere of blue energy high into the sky, leaving Argent to wonder how Munchlax had the strength possible to fling something that high. Ha, who was he kidding? He lived in a world full of supernatural weird creatures called Pokémon - nearly anything was possible as long as you had the imagination and coping skills necessary to accept what happened around you. The orb was creating some strange effect in the sky, and Argent was aware of what might happen this time. The sky quickly turned grey due to what was happening now.

Isn't that just perfect? Argent thought, smiling rather ironically at this stage. His hand quickly delved inside his satchel, searching for an umbrella of some kind to stop him from getting soaked to the skin. Finding one, he snatched it from his satchel as fast as he could and extended it. The umbrella flourished outwards, and Argent held it up over his head. Just in time - the heavens opened and poured rain downwards onto the battlers and the trainers, as well as surrounding Pokémon and plants. Cassidy quickly stepped under the umbrella to avoid the downpour upon them. She clung nervously to Argent's leg as she watched the rain fall down around them. Due to the rain, now the rather pleasant heat had vanished and the Botanic Gardens were rapidly becoming quite chilly. Argent shivered slightly as he watched the battle unfold further. Chimey, at least, wasn't disturbed by the rain's sudden appearance. In fact, she seemed rather happy about the rain's occurrence, however much of an inconvenience it may have seemed to anyone else. She flashed a confident grin back at her two pals before going to move on to what she had to do, but was slightly annoyed by the impish grin of Munchlax.

Why, how rude! Chimey mused to Argent.

Let it pass, Chimey. Do what you have to! Remember not to sustain the link with me while you use Extrasensory, though... last time was an absolute nightmare, Argent replied.

Chimey, quickly unravelling the link she had flung around her trainer's mind in order to converse with him telepathically, now closed her eyes in order to focus on Munchlax. Getting a good picture of him in her mind, she proceeded to get on with the move. She knew what she had to do - it was kind of like a psionic blast, as scientists once called this move. However, it took a more physical manifestation - she couldn't just fling herself into his mind to do this. She raised her ribbon-like tail and began to spin it in some strange anti-clockwise motion in order to generate mysterious purple "waves", which seemed to be quite thin - as was the move's appearance, of course. These waves shot towards Munchlax at a certain speed, and hit him square-on. Argent whistled under his breath triumphantly - at least this part of his plan was going to work, he was completely confident of that! Munchlax was at last getting within capturing reach, although since he was quite rare, Argent knew he had some more work to do before he could get this over and done with. Argent was not going to give up, however. He found these exciting moments of his life far too precious to waste.

Munchlax writhed in the air as he tried to get through the incomprehensible pain caused by Extrasensory within his mind. Argent's nervous smile was now a confident one, and he beamed upon the battle as he watched Munchlax become far too distracted to even attempt to move off any other kind of move thrown at him in the current situation. The colourless body - colourless due to Entrainment, of course - was twisting and turning in mid-air in a helpless attempt to throw off what was happening. Argent wasn't going to throw off this chance for paralysing the Munchlax on their second attempt.

"Chimey, use Thunder Wave on him now, seriously!" Argent urged the chirpy little Chime Pokémon. Cassidy took up her clapping once more.

Keep your panties on, I'm doing it now! I'm, like, really tired! Chimey replied, her thoughts leaving a strange imprint of frustration in Argent's brain. Argent threw the notion of apology into her mind, and hoped she'd understand that he was quite stressed as well. Of course, she did - their brains were well-trained to understand each other and how they felt in any given situation. They could read each other better than they could read books.

Chimey was moving onto the climax of their current plan at this stage, although Argent secretly knew that their efforts wouldn't be enough to secure them a capture. Argent judged it at around 50-50 after paralysis, so he began to quickly formulate their next attack upon the Munchlax, who would indeed make a nice addition to Argent's rather truthfully inexperienced team. She flicked her tail towards Munchlax, concentrating with all her might on the electrical paralytic waves that she knew she could generate. The familiar electrifying sensation slipped through her tail, and she knew she had been successful in generating them at this stage. The thick, bright yellow waves simply crackled with energy and zapped the Munchlax, granting the large mass of blue fur with a major hindrance to his performance in battle. Argent slowly stepped forwards, wondering what would be thrown at Chimey next by the pesky thing.

Munchlax was, again, preparing some strange orb. This one crackled with electricity, and Argent knew what it was before Munchlax could release it. There was no hope for Chimey to avoid this, not with the rain - Argent knew that, with rain in effect within the area, the Thunder move could not miss his precious friend. Still, he could cry out dramatically in vain.

"Chimey, watch out! That's Thunder!" he shouted as a warning. As Thunder was released, Chimey made her best attempt to move out of the way, but the Thunder zapped her entirely and her core shook with the raw power of the unleashed electricity. Argent gasped slightly, and rushed to her side as she crumpled in pain. Gently placing his palm to the back of her tiny body, he encouraged her to straighten up and keep fighting. He guided her back into the air, and then stepped back from her. Chimey waited for her next orders.

"Oh, Chimey! This is so annoying now! I think the best option is to just zap the brains straight out of that Hoppip-pickin' lil' punk!!!! Use the most powerful Extrasensory you have, along with any other piece of psychic energy you have left!" Argent exclaimed melodramatically.

    What--? Chimey asked in confusion.

I don't have time to explain, just feel it with me, Argent replied, all the while shouting, "Yeah, you can do it!"

Chimey delved quickly into Argent's mind to see the underlying plan beneath all this, and found that it was a smart bit of deceit on Argent's part. The plan was to make sure Munchlax overheard that they were going to go for only offence, to confuse Munchlax and make him think that he needed to take steps in order to prevent her from damaging his mind further. However, Chimey was to fly towards Munchlax and use Double-Edge - she had to fling her tail over her head, slamming it down upon his head after doing a somersault. However, afterwards she had to quickly convert this into Hypnosis in order to make Munchlax fall asleep - paralysis and sleep combined would make an easy target for a Super Ball to capture a debilitated opponent, one who couldn't fight back barely. Chimey was sure that nothing could go wrong with this. She was confident.

Munchlax would be none the wiser.

"Oh, Chimey! This is so annoying now! I think the best option is to just zap the brains straight out of that Hoppip-pickin' lil' punk!!!! Use the most powerful Extrasensory you have, along with any other piece of psychic energy you have left!" Argent cried out loud in a melodramatic tone.

Joe watched as Chimecho slowly turned around and stared right towards Argent and titled her head, almost confused about his order. She had taken a lot of damage and used a vast amount of psychic energy, how much could she take.

It took a while for Chimecho to advance forwards, it looked like she was having a telepathic conversation with her trainer. Joe studied the floating Wind Chime Pokemon and waited for it to produce the purple waves exactly the same as before. Munchlax must of overheard the order sent by Argent and started to take precaution by slowly taking a few steps back. Then it slowly tucked itself into a ball, covering it's ears, hoping that the waves would not penetrate his body.

The downside to this tactic was that Munchlax had no visual on Chimecho, since his eyes were hidden by his thick fat. To Joe's surprise, Chimecho ignored Argent's orders and directed his pathway towards the tucked up Munchlax. Joe was interested by Argent's tactic, he must of told Chimecho to do this, as Munchlax would have taken precautions. As Chimecho was close to Munchlax, she raised her large white and red tail and slammed it down on Munchlax. Munchlax realized what was happening and broke out of his ball as the tail crashed on top of him. However there was something different about Chimecho, she had taken a lot of damage from that attack, more than the regular recoil.

Master Joe, I believe that Munchlax isn't dumb as Argent thinks, If I remember one gym battle, I was against a Lucario and it used Counter, a move that will do twice as much damage to the opponent if they used a psychical damaging move. I think Munchlax used Counter, sire

"Argent, I have a hunch that Munchlax used Counter, a move that will do twice as much damage to the opponent if you use a psychical damaging move, like Double-Edge, watch out" Joe said to Argent, hoping he would take on some of his advice.

Then in the corner of Joe's eye, he noticed Chimecho slowly get back on her feet. Then her eyes widen and turned purple. Something strange was about to happen. Within seconds later, Chimecho started to produce a spiral of purple power towards Munchlax. The spiral hit the Munchlax and then disappeared inside him. Joe watched as the Munchlax slowly fell asleep, something that it is very used to.

"Now's your chance Argent, capture it" Joe shouted.

As Chimey carried out Argent's orders, Argent was extremely worried by how deteriorated she looked. Slamming her ribbon-like tail upon Munchlax's head, Munchlax flung himself out of his ball position and seemed to inflict some kind of damage on Chimey - double the damage that she may have caused him, perhaps. Argent realised that this was Counter, and he gasped. How many moves did this Pokémon know? He knew it would be over soon, however, so he stepped back a little as Chimey flung some hypnotic power from her eyes at full force in Munchlax's direction.

Munchlax fell to the ground, finally subdued.

"Now's your chance, Argent!" Joe shouted helpfully. "Catch it!"

Argent put on his most determined face and flipped open his satchel momentarily, his hand dipping inside it briefly and then producing a Super Ball. His gloved hand curled around the ball tightly, but then he accurately fired the ball at Munchlax. He could see the ball curving straight towards Munchlax's body. Chimey murmured a small jingle weakly, but Argent encouraged her to rest as much as she could.

Please be caught, please be caught... Argent silently pleaded.

Joe watched as Argent slowly focused his mind towards the capture stage of the battle. He withdrew a small yellow and green ball with the letter 'S' branded on the front. He curled the ball towards the injured Munchlax and watched as it disappeared into the ball. It rolled on the floor, from side to side and then finally clicked.

"Congratulations, You are a new owner of a Munchlax" Joe said in a happy tone.

"Umm, Master Joe, I was wondering if I could leave the park, if that's ok." Argent swiftly said to Joe. Joe smiled, he had never been called a Master before. He handed over the ball and watched as Argent danced into the sunlight
