Beginner RP: Zachie (The Woods)

    The Woods are, undeniably, where Babbs feels most at home.

    There's something about the way the forest thrums with life around her--and the way she comes to life in the forest. Were she permitted by the Park to move her squat little cabin into this place, she would in a heartbeat (though, of course, she only knew she couldn't because she had tried). Today, it was particularly pleasant, with bugs and rodents and plants shifting through the underbrush and canopy, all sorts of different species trawling their home. From the gate of the fence that courses about the treeline, Babbs surveys the terrain within with a smile. Her Gogoat, Nana, trims the verdant grass outside of the area.

    The ancient, wrinkled Ranger locks aged blue eyes onto the small path off to the right. Its entrance is in good shape, at least. It'd take them through a short loop into the smaller growth of The Woods, letting them avoid the more fearsome creatures, and would deposit them right back here if she played her cards right. It was a little overgrown, but nothing they can't handle. Red kimono hides her combat boots; worst case scenario, she beats down a path for them (though not too harmful of one, of course)!

    Gaze turns back out toward the path, expectant. People arrived in many ways--while the Park provided transportation to fit nearly every need, those who saw it fit to find their own way often did. And so she's got her eyes to the sky and to the earth while she waits, hand shielding her sight from the sun that roams among the clouds. It's nice out, breezy, though she knows it'll get warmer in a couple of hours when it hits noon. Hopefully the shade will stick around and the wind will keep whistling its way through the trees where they'll be venturing--but Babbs has been around long enough to know that hope isn't much when it comes to the Park's weather. ​

    Chase had been looking forward to today for quite a while now. He'd been on his own Pokemon Journey for a little while now, and he had already grown accustomed to spending time with the Pokemon that he had had the pleasure of adding to his very own team. As he walked towards the gate of the wooded section of the National Park, his Kirlia followed at his side while his Shinx happily followed behind him. They were both very loyal Pokemon and he trusted that the two of them would be able to help him out of any situation that he found himself in whether it be good or bad.

    As Chase walked, he took in the different sights of the woods and the plethora of Pokemon that could be found within. Some of which he was sure would absolutely decimate his team of Pokemon, but Chase was at the very least smart enough to know when and with which Pokemon to pick a fight at his (and his Pokemons) current experience level. There would be plenty of time in the future for them to be reckless and take on some Pokemon that were a little bit out of their league. The sights, on the other hand, while mostly the same, kept him interested in his surroundings and there would be plenty for him to take in while he was on his run with the Park Ranger that he was going to be meeting a little further into the Woods.

    As the thought crossed his mind, he spotted a figure in the difference and approached them with a smile. "Ahoy!" He called, "I'm Chase, and these are my partners, Roxas and Pupper." He said, gesturing to himself and his two Pokemon in turn. For the time being, the temperature inside the woods was quite bearable, but he knew that at the end of the day he would either end up sweating or freezing cold, but for the time being he was anxious to get started so that they could work together and he could meet his newest partner. "I'm ready whenever you are." He said with a grin, and his Pokemon both shared his sentiment with a small noise.

    After a bit, she spots a short crop of hair bobbing in the distance--one that she realizes is slightly spiked as it draws more near. At the boy's heels are two Pokemon that could hardly be any more different from one another. The Kirlia's graceful sashay nearly puts the small, child-faced puppy's romping gait to shame. The elderly Ranger gives a kind smile to the trio as they approach. Knobby fingers raise to give them a little friendly wave.

    "Nice to meet you, Chase," she returns to his introduction. Eyes crinkle nearly shut with the light of her smile. "I'm Babbs, your Ranger for today, and this here's Nana." She gestures to the masked goat, who raises horned head at the sound of her name. Brown ears swivel forward with interest. Beige muzzle, tinged with gray from age, twitches as she steps forward. Neck cranes as nostrils snuffle at the blue cowlick of the Shinx. Harmless molars nibble at it. The small Pokemon gives a little yip of surprise, followed by a low growl of warning--one that causes Nana to gaze at him blankly, something akin to boredom trickling into her features. She moves on with her lawn duty service. Babbs offers them both a smile.

    The kid is ready, though, so the Ranger withdraws her own companion back into her ball. "Well, let's get goin', then!" she declares, and moves off toward the side path that she'd scouted out previously.

    It's sparser wood--newer growth from where the forest had slowly expanded over the decades. The path was scarcely visible beneath the leafy underbrush that populated the space between tightly-packed trees. Each step generated rustles that sent various creatures of the flora fleeing away. Babbs pauses within, gazing about, then back to Chase.

    "We'll make less noise if we put away one of your partners," she advises, though not at all unkindly. ​
