Beginner RP: Weasel_Bacon [The Woods]

Rumor had it there was smoke rising up from The Woods. Had this been any other area except the Botanical Gardens,
Aleria probably wouldn't have cared too much. It would've been a concern, sure, but it wouldn't have been anything too major. Most of the other areas would have been fine with a little bit of fire or smoke. But this was The Woods. If there was a fire, there was a risk of Pokemon being displaced from their home. Aleria hoped that wouldn't be the case, but she couldn't know until she got into the Park and found the source.

Luckily for her, she had a trainer that could help her out with this task. It was a new trainer, sure, but a trainer nevertheless. She left her office and flew out to the gates leading into the Woods to meet her trainer. She unlocked the gates of the Woods and took a few steps inside, leaving the gate unlocked behind her. She took in the sight around her. A light mist surrounded her as she stood near the gate,
and it flowed through the trees. She could see the smoke through the trees; from what she remembered of the woods, it looked as if it was close by, so it wouldn't take them too long to get to it.

But before she progressed forward, she would wait for her trainer. She couldn't forget about the person she was escorting through these woods today.

I walk up to the gate of the forest with Kermit and Chili Peppers. "Chili Peppers you go locate the fire and Kermit you fallow." I said. Both Chili Peppers and Kermit nodded in agreement and rushed in wasting no time. A few minutes passed and Chili Peppers returned. "Guess i'm up." and I rushed in the forest with Aleria fallowing. When I got there A giant tree was burning bright. Kermit was already at work using water pulse to put it out. After a few moments pass the tree was put out and a few smaller trees out with it. I stand there bewildered at why this happened. "Chili Peppers, Kermit lets check out the tree to see if its man made or not. After a while of observing the burnt tree Chili peppers noticed a small wooden twig. "good eye." I said. "this looks to perfect to be natural, it could be a match."

Out of the corner of her eye, Aleria saw two Pokemon rush by her. It took her a moment, but she recognized them as a Decidueye and a Greninja. Their trainer was close behind, and without even saying a word to her, he too rushed by to join his Pokemon. Guess he was eager to get on his run, or to see what the smoke was. Aleria took a brief moment to lock the gate up behind them, and then she ran off after the trainer and his Pokemon.

When she arrived, she saw the remnants of a fire. One of the trees had caught fire, and the trainer's Greninja put it out. Though the fire had been put out, the air here was still warmer compared to the rest of the woods. She looked around for the source of the flames. Whoever (or whatever) caused this wasn't around now, but Aleria doubted they got too far.

"Good eye," the trainer said. "This looks too perfect to be natural, it could be a match."

Aleria looked over at a small twig, and she picked it up to examine it. It did indeed look like a match, which meant there were likely vandals in the woods. Great. Just what they needed, a vandal in the Park. She sighed and pocketed the match.

"Yeah, looks like a match," she said. She held out a hand. "I'm Aleria, by the way, a Ranger here in the Park. Say, would you mind helping me find whoever caused this? If you're up for it, of course. No worries if you're not."

Just as she finished speaking, she heard a hoot from behind her. She spun around, and she saw a small, brown owl behind her. It was a Hoothoot. Aleria was glad to know that none of the Pokemon had been displaced as a result of this fire. They likely just ran off to other places in the Woods, and now that it was put out, this Hoothoot was returning to its home. She turned to the trainer. "Or you can try and catch this Hoothoot. It's up to you."

I glance at the hoothoot. "Poor thing lost its home to the fire." I said. "Hmm hey Aleria, Maybe you could take this pokemon back to the park and find a home for it." Aleria walked towords the hoothoot to comfort it. Ok team looks like we have a vandal to find. "Chili Pepper you fly around to see if you can find him, Kermit your with me. We came to a hilltop where I saw a small cave. "hmm that cave would be a nice to place to hide." Chili Peppers and Aleria came to join me. "looks like Chili Peppers found nothing, so the cave is looking pretty good now." We came to the mouth of the cave where I stopped everyone. "Aleria it's up to you if you wanna join me." I said "Chili Pepper, Kermit stay close this could get ugly."

The Hoothoot gave a small hoot, as if it wanted some sort of attention. Aleria stepped over to pat it on the head, but as she did, it gave another hoot and flew up to the top of the tree. Much of it had been burned from the fire, but it still stood tall. It showed no signs of falling, so Aleria figured the Hoothoot would be fine. At the very least, it was gone now, and that was good.

The trainer's Decidueye soared up into the sky to search for the one who caused the fire. While Decidueye did that, the trainer led the way to a cave. Aleria tilted her head slightly. Had this cave always been here? She wasn't sure.
It had been a while since she'd last come into the Woods, and even longer since she'd really done any Rangering. She made a mental note to herself to review the maps of each area. Clearly there were things she'd forgotten about.

She shrugged. "If your Decidueye hasn't found anything, I doubt whoever caused this is still here. Whoever it was must've got out before any of us could get here," she said. "But we could go through the cave. Something interesting could be inside."

Aleria stepped forward, reaching for a Poke Ball on her belt. She released her Chandelure to lead the way. The caves were dark, and who knew what was lurking in this cave. "Ready to go?" Aleria asked.

"As ready as ill ever be" I replied. The cave had a strange aura to it, as if something old was lying with in it. Then suddenly the cave branched off. "Great that's what I just need." I said sarcastically. "Ok here's the plan, Kermit and I will go left and Chili Peppers and you will take right if anything happens give me a call and chili peppers will use phantom force to take me to you." Aleria nodded and headed off. The cave grew narrower and narrower as I went on "I don't think where gonna find any thing in here kermit." I said. But as soon as I stopped I heard a noise come out of the darkness. "WHO GOES THERE!" I yelled. Kermit got a water shurkien ready as I braced myself for the battle to come

There was something strange about this cave, something that Aleria couldn't quite put her finger on. It wasn't until after they walked in that she felt the sensation, but they pressed forward nevertheless. They had to. It was too late to turn back now.

As they walked, the path split. Aleria was about to give the trainer a choice to decide which path they should go down, but the trainer made up his mind pretty fast. Fine with her, she supposed; less talking for her if the kid already had everything figured out. He was on a mission, that was for sure. Nothing was wrong with that, at least not until the trainer and his Greninja went down the left path, and she was left with the Decidueye. Aleria frowned.
"This doesn't seem like a good idea..." she said to herself.

"Chandelier, go with them, make sure they have light. I'll be fine," she told her Chandelure. The chandelier-like Pokemon went ahead with them, casting her light on the walls until they were so far down the path that they couldn't see. Aleria took two more Poke Balls off of her belt. "Riza, Flare, Hanuman, I'm going to need your help." Her Charizard, Flareon, and Infernape appeared before her. "Riza, Flare, go down that path and see if there's anything suspicious. If there is, Flare, come find me and Riza, stay on whatever it is. We'll take care of it together. And we'll find each other."

Riza and Flare went down the right path, with her Charizard leading the way and her Flareon trailing close behind. They would be fine together. Smaller Pokemon would be terrified of Riza, and Flare would be able to get back to her quickly enough if anything did happen.

"Okay, Hanuman. Let's go find that trainer," she said. With her Infernape by her side, lighting the way with the flames on his head, she walked down the left path. Their footsteps were quiet as they walked, taking care to not alert anything, human or Pokemon, to their presence. It wasn't until she heard her trainer shout that she and Hanuman started to run down the path. She saw her trainer and his Greninja, and both were ready to fight. Chandelier's light shone on a small reddish pink bug, one Aleria recognized as a Venipede.

"Looks like it's just a Venipede," Aleria said after she caught her breath. "Are you interested in trying to catch it? Your Greninja looks ready for a fight."

"Hmm stand down Kermit it looks harmless." I said "Oh your back, did you find anything?" I asked. She shook her head "looks like where not making any progress." I looked forward and what I saw was what seemed like a man made door. It was made out of rock and had weird carvings etched in to them. "Huh weird, this could be a good hiding place." I said "Lets check it out." When I entered the door I could make out some more man made features here. Pillars, walls,and more carvings filled the room. "Do you know why this could be here/" I asked. But at that moment A humanoid figure leaped from the ceiling and landed on the floor.

Her trainer found a secret path along the rocks. It was odd, but it was there. Aleria didn't quite know how it got there, but the kid figured out how to get in and led the way in. She glanced behind her and the Venipede wasn't there. Looked like it wasn't following them.

He'd asked her how it got there, and she was about to speak, but a figure dropped from the ceiling. Seeing it made her jump, and she took a moment to grab the humanoid figure that dropped from the ceiling.

"Okay, okay, you found me!" the figure said. He was a male wearing a black jumpsuit. "I was the one that started the fire. Take me in."

"Oh, I will," Aleria said, pressing a few buttons on her phone. She turned to Hanuman. "Take him to the gate.
Another Ranger will meet you there, so that way I can finish my run with this guy. We'll meet up again later,
I'm sure."

Hanuman nodded and took the man who started the fire to the gate. She'd have to meet up with Riza and Flare later too, but that was a problem for later. She would reunite with her Pokemon eventually.

For now, she turned to her trainer. "Welp, that's taken care of. Now we've gotta help you find some Pokemon."
