Beginner RP: Greece

Today was another wonderful day. Well it would be if the sun would just come out! I was angrily mulching my cereal wishing that the darn sun would just sow his face. The air was clear, the flowers were in bloom, and the winds were gentle. I knew all this because I had gone out to pick up the newspaper.

I stopped munching in order to read some of the comics. I must have gotten lost in them because when I looked up I saw that it was later then I thought it was! I jumped out of my chair and I ran out of the door. I then ran back in to place the newspaper back together and to put the boll of milk in the sink. Then I ran back out the door.

The sun was just rising over the horizon. Walked over to the buggy and hopped into in to and turned the key and was on my way to the Gardens. After a few minutes and a few bumps (I would have to tell my bosses about the pot holes.) I arrived at the gate to the gardens. I hopped off of the buggy and sat down on the grass waiting for the trainer to arrive.

Raising my hand to rub my eye, I blinked at the noise that had abruptly started and ended behind me. As I picked myself up Dusk, who had been sleeping on my back, rolled onto the grass with a soft plop. With a small groan Dusk twitched her ear and started to stretch.

After starching Dusk on her head, I looked over the rock I had been sleeping behind and saw a buggy, which must have been the source of the sound, and the back of what looked to be a Ranger.

“Well, looks like our Ranger is here,” I said nudging Dusk, “Guess being a few hours early and taking a nap will pay off now, you ready?”

With a small yip and, Dusk’s rings lit up showing her excitement and determination.

“Good.” And with another pat to Dusk’s head, I stood up and turned to the ranger, “Hey! You’re the Ranger right?”

I hared a rusting in the grass. I jumped up and got ready to throw my Pokeball, just in case it was a wild Pokémon that was set on attacking me. Or it could just be a wild Pokemon that wanted to be friends. I did not think that through. Turns out it was a trainer! And not just any trainer but the one I was to take through the park!

I was glad that I had not sent out my Galvantula, it was a big spider and would easily scare some trainers and some Pokemon too! That was not fun, when you had to talk down a trainer or calm a Pokémon because they were scared of spiders or started.

I walked over to the trainer; I knew from the form that her name was Ilene. There was some other stuff too, like how old she was and what kind of Pokémon she was talking with her into the park. I offered my hand.

“I’m Robin,” I explained, “And I’ll be taking you through the park today, I hope you can find something that you’ll like! We’ll be riding in the buggy once I open the gate, give me a second and I’ll open it up.”

With that I walked over to the gate and placed my hand on the scanner. We had just had these new hand scanners installed that made getting into the park easier and faster, not like it was hard in the first place. The gat swung open and we would be allowed in now. I walked back over to the buggy and climbed in. I patted the seat next to me.

“You can sit here,” I said, “Your Umbreon can either sit in the back or on your lap, whatever your good with.” Once Ilene was in the buggy I turned the key and we took off. We didn’t get very far though. Once we were though the gate the door closed behind us and I saw our first Pokemon.

It was small, only being a head and a sprout. The sprout was green and most of the body was yellow. It had brown stripes and dark eyes. It was a Sunkern. It was bouncing out of a tree and like it had just eaten. I stopped the buggy and pointed at it.

“That’s a Sunkern,” I said, you want to catch it? Or we can try avoiding it.”

I looked over at the Sunkern and started to give thought to what I should do. Sunkerns weren’t that amazing. You could find them in most places. At the same time this is the first Pokémon that I’ve run into. Should I just fight it for the experience? But going into a fight would make my Pokémon tired, and what if we found something better later? I don’t want Dusk and Tempest to get exhausted to fast. So skipping the fight against the Sunkern seemed like a good idea.

Ilene turned to Robin, “Let’s try to avoid it, and just in case it notices us,” Ilene pulled out Pokédoll and hands it to Robin.

I tried to move on, but the small grass type had seen us. It hopped over to the buggy and started dancing in front of us. Maybe it was trying to get some attention, or maybe it just wanted to play with us. Whatever the reason it was in our way.

I didn’t want to run over the Pokemon, and it would take too long to wait for the small Pokemon to move. I did not want this run to be done in the dark. It was true that some people did nighttime runs, but it was advised for beginners to do a day run first.

I took the doll from Ilene, It was one of the mass produced dolls, not like one of the ones that I had made myself. These one had perfect stiches and was made out of some kind of nice fabric. It was in the Shape of a Cleffa, only it was green. I tossed the radioactive doll at the side of the road, and Sunkern ran over to inspect its new toy.

The buggy moved and we went on deapper into the Woods. We came to a tree, and I heard a Meowing, I looked up and say a small pink cat like Pokemon. It seemed to be suck in the tree. I pointed at it.

“You interested in a Skitty?”

I turned my head and took a look at the skitty. It was quite adorable, as most skitties were. The Skitty was standing pretty still in the grass, though I’m sure it could pretty agile if engaged. Though fighting the skitty isn’t really what I should be thinking about. The important thing is if I wanted that skitty. It was quite adorable though that may not be the best priority when picking a pokemon. Skitties aren’t the rarest pokemon, and I don’t have a real desire for one right now. It might be best to skip this one. There could be something better down the road.

Ilene look towards Robin, “I’d like to pass on this one, I don’t really want a skitty.”
