    It was a new day, and time to take on a new job. The National Park was barely being visited now, and so when a trainer did want to go through there were very few rangers to help them out. It was understandable though, as people tend to retire which is to be expected. Nonetheless there was still always work to be done.

    Today I had seen information about a new trainer wanting to go through the park, so I thought I would go out there again, and lend a hand.

    "Well suppose you can accompany me once again, Gardevoir," I said as I threw her Pokeball into the air. It was usually my main go to Pokemon in the park, next to Ambipom, and Chandelure. The edge she had though was the ability to communicate telepathically.

    Ah, I'm guessing you've taken up a job taking someone through the park huh? Been a while since we've gone to work, Eric. Might be nice to go through an area of the park again," Gardevoir said.

    "Yeah, should hopefully be interesting. Suppose we'll find out soon, but for now since we have to get there first how about using Teleport to get us to the gate quicker?" I'd asked Gardevoir, who Teleported us there with ease.

    So what are the details on our trainer, and the run?

    "Well he's a newer trainer who goes by the name of, Nox. And he's visiting a newer sub area of the park, designed for people going there for the first time who will only run into weaker Pokemon. You know, to give them a feel of how to get accustomed to the park," I'd told Gardevoir who seemed to approve.

    I have to admit a short trip through the park was on a lot of trainers minds at times, but usually when they were looking for one specific thing. In the case of Nox, with it being his first time I had to wonder if he was looking for anything specific, or just wanted a few battles to see how tough Pokemon could be here for future times, or something.

    OOC: Thanks for starting this :D Im not the best at RPing though...

    I woke up to a loud voice. "Hey kid. This is as far as I can tale you."

    "Wait what?" I replied in a groggy tone.

    "Wake up kid! You're on the bus. This is where the journey ends. I cant go too close to the National Park as it is an environmental safety zone." Damn! I'd forgotten about that. Today was my first ever day in the National Park. I got off the bus and headed to the front gate of the Park. As I got to the front desk I saw a person in a red uniform sleeping. I knocked on the window and the man jolted awake.

    "Argh! You shouldn't scare people like that kid!" Thats the second time i've been called that today.

    "Sorry, im here for my run?" I questioned the Ranger.

    "Mhm." He turned to his computer and starting typing. "Your name please sir?"
    "Nox." I wasnt exactly a huge fan of the name my parents had given me, as it made me seem like a dark brooding person, when in fact I was quite the opposite, I liked to be a much kinder person.

    "Nox, that's a strange name. But trust me, there have been weirder names. So anyway, it says here that this is your first run. Oh! And you picked the beginner run. Thats smart of you. Although you have only brought one Pokemon. Each to their own I guess." The Ranger went on with himself as though I wasnt even there. "Anyway, your Ranger Is Eric. He should be here soon, he'll take you to Enigma Ruins! If you just go through the main gate he should be there. Have a good time!" He said with a smile.

    Once I walked around I saw another person in a red uniform. "Hello there, are you Eric? That looks like a very strong Gardevoir you have there! My name is Nox!" I put my hand out for a handshake...

    OOC: Don't worry, this is the best way to get better. Or learn to ramble a lot like I do. @Equinox;

    NBP #2

    I waited around outside the gate for about ten minutes or so before hearing a trainer show up. Which was good timing, as it was generally pretty boring waiting around outside the gate. I just hoped it was Nox, and not some random guy running around.

    "Hello there, are you Eric? That looks like a very strong Gardevoir you have there! My name is Nox!" Nox said towards me, as he put out his hand for a handshake.

    Strong? I think I'm going to like this trainer, Gardevoir said to me.

    "Yep, I'm Eric. Nice to meet you Nox." I shook his hand, while exchanging greetings.

    "And yeah, my Gardevoir has definitely been handy in various situations. But don't worry about that for now, I'm sure you won't need her help today. So then, I'm sure you're itching to get started, so lets see what awaits you," I said as I opened the gate, and lead us into the park.

    Today the Enigma Ruins appeared to take on the look of Mount Oktori, the icy mountain area full of Fighting, and Ice-types. Of course when it came to the Engima Ruins the location meant nothing, and anything could be here. However this area was special, and meant for newer trainers, so only weaker Pokemon resided here.

    "So, do you have a favorite type of Pokemon? Or do you just go for whatever?" I asked, making some conversation as we walked down the main path towards the mountain. I really Oktori because it was nice and cold, the perfect climate to test your abilities and get stronger. Especially right now while the sky was fully covered by clouds with no breaks of sun.

    We got to the end of the main path after about five minutes, and at that time I felt bits of electricity in the air. Sort of like when snow hits power-lines heavily, and causes them to short, and make poweroutages.

    I looked behind us to see a little yellow Pokemon, with some black stripes on it. It has the look of anything with two prongs that you would plug into an outlet, but that would be expected of an Electric-type Pokemon.

    "Do you happen to want an Elekid?" I'd asked, making sure I also added, "Also, remember, nothing wrong with capturing this thing, just don't forget you can only leave with one Pokemon when its all said and done."

    I exchanged greetings with the Ranger before he opened the gate. I had researched a decent amount about the Park but I was still shocked when I saw that the place we entered was completely identical to another place in the park. Mount Oktori! Now I was glad to be on the beginner run. Otherwise I would have ran into some very nasty pokemon. And with only Katana, my Bisharp with me, i'd rather not meet a lot of unfriendly faces.

    "So, do you have a preference of Pokemon? Or are you that go random kind of guy?" The Ranger tried making small talk.

    "Well, I guess I just get whatever I can. Im not exactly the best battler after all, so truth be told im lucky to even recieve a pokemon." I shivered while speaking, feeling the cold bite away at my fingers.

    We reached the end of the main path in a short amount of time. When I felt a jolt of electricity shock me slightly. Both me and the Ranger turned around. "Huh, do you want an Elekid? There is no harm in not capturing it of course! Just remember you can only leave with one Pokemon."

    "I'd rather leave it, sorry little buddy." I replied, totally contradicting what I said earlier to the Ranger.

    OOC: I was just wondering in my battle posts if I can make up a combination by using two moves together? @Ebail;

    OOC: Yeah, combos are perfectly fine. You can try to merge two moves together as long as its realistic, or use a move instantly followed up by another move in the same post @Equinox;

    "Well, I guess I just get whatever I can. I'm not exactly the best battler after all, so truth be told I'm lucky to even receive a pokemon," Nox said.

    "I wouldn't worry too much, I mean there is always room to improve when it comes to battling anyway. The Park is a good place for training too," I'd responded before Nox decided what to do against the Elekid in front of us.

    "I'd rather leave it, sorry little buddy," Nox ultimately decided upon thinking if he'd face this Elekid or not. Couldn't blame him personally. Granted he did have three Park Balls, but when you could only leave with one Pokemon you captured it was best to just stick with trying to only battle and capture one.

    "Alright, sorry there Elekid, but we're gonna have to leave you behind for now," I said to the Elekid, who seemed to shake its fist at me, and then walk away to do something else I assume, like nap.

    "Welp, lets walk inside the cave now and see if something shows up," and with that we walked into the main cave. It was a great location to be, but unfortunately it could definitely restrict some battle choices, as you didn't want to destroy any of the cave or mountain, and cause it to collapse inside in anyway. Not the best way to spend your time in the park.

    "Awfully dark in here, huh?" I said as we stepped into the cave, and as I searched around in my bag for a flashlight so we had some kind of light to walk around with. Right away as I took it out, and put it on I heard a sound coming from a small body of water in the ground. It was a little tadpole like creature. It was blue in color, and had a black and white swirl on its body.

    "Do you happen to want a Poliwag? You could evolve it into a Poliwrath which would be best suited in rain, or perhaps a Politoed for some rain support itself."

    We walked away from the Elekid who seemed angry at the fact we didnt want to battle it but alas it still walked away, with a defeated look on its face.

    "Welp, lets walk inside the cave now and see if something shows up," Eric said, and I nodded back. A cave was bound to find some pokemon who didnt come outside, therefore leading to maybe some better pokemon! Although it did look unstable actually.

    "Awfully dark in here, huh?"

    "Sure is," I replied, now relying on the light from the Ranger's flashlight.

    "Do you happen to want a Poliwag? Both Poliwrath and Politoed are good choices for using rain to your advantage."

    Poliwag was a pokemon I would have expected to see in some marshland outside but nonetheless, I wasnt complaining. "Sure, and even if we find something better later we can always keep it here! Katana! Prepare yourself!" I shouted throwing my only pokeball into the air. A humanoid figure then stood in front of us. It was made out of steel but had a dark aura around it, a Bisharp.

    "Ok Katana, we need to make sure we dont faint the Poliwag!" which recieved a nod from my Pokemon, "Now, we need the advantage, Swords Dance to get that attack boost, then send a Night Slash its way!"

    "Sure, and even if we find something better later we can always keep it here! Katana! Prepare yourself!" Nox responded as he sent his Bisharp out for battle.

    Well nothing wrong with deciding to battle something even if you aren't sure you're going to keep it, I thought to myself.

    "Ok Katana, we need to make sure we dont faint the Poliwag! Now, we need the advantage, Swords Dance to get that attack boost, then send a Night Slash its way!" Nox commanded.

    Was an understandable beginning combo. A strength boosting move, and then a powerful STAB move. Was a good combination for an early move, as when a Pokemon was at or around its full health it was more likely to avoid some damage, and be hurt less. Was much easier than telling your Pokemon to hold back some of its power when doing an attack later on.

    Swords Dance would cause the users attack to increase by two levels after they did a little dance, or maybe struck a pose. As for Night Slash it was a scratch style Dark-type attack which had an increased chance of landing a Critical Hit. Was definitely a handy move, much like its other type counterparts.

    Bisharp got into position and increased its strength with Swords Dance, its right hand then started to glow dark, and it charged over. Before Bisharp could land a hit, Poliwag slapped its tail against the ground to bounce itself into the air. And then fired out a powerful ball of what appeared to be boiling water.

    Poliwag must have been using Scald, the only Water-type move able to cause a burn which would have been deadly here, as not only would it have lowered Bisharp's attack down, making Swords Dance worth nothing, but it would also cause burn damage to happen every round of battle.

    Bisharp stuck its left arm in the way to intercept the Scald, and find its opening. In doing so it was able to land a quick slash movement against Poliwag's midsection, knocking it down to the ground. Poliwag got back up relatively quickly, but you could see it was definitely showing signs of being hit hard.

    OOC: Sorry for the long time to reply ^_^; Also, Male please! @Ebail;

    I could only watch as the Poliwag launched a stream of boiling water which directly hit Katana. Luckily, Katana was smart enough to put his hand in front of him to lessen the impact of the attack. It would have been quite unfortunate if the Scald had done more damage as being part steel, a burn would have been very bad for Katana.

    "Ok Katana, you are doing good so far! Lets lay off a bit and test out that new move you learned!"

    Katana gave a slight nod, showing he knew what I meant. We had recently been practicing how to learn Toxic. This way, we could whittle the Poliwags health away bit by bit, making it an easier capture in the end!

    Last time during the park run of Equinox, Bisharp gathered up its strength as it powered up for its encounter with Poliwag. It delivered a heavy blow while Poliwag tried to fight back, however their powerlevels were way to far apart at this point. Elsewhere I was pretty sure I left the sink running, the water bill was going to be so high.

    Will Bisharp seal the battle with Poliwag, or will Poliwag put up a good fight back? Find out the answer today!...or not

    "Ok Katana, you are doing good so far! Lets lay off a bit and test out that new move you learned!"

    If I knew anything then I knew for a fact that I had no idea what the new learned move was. I mean I wasn't a psychic. Gardevoir was though. Though remembering the info I read about Nox's Bisharp it was either Substitute or Toxic.

    Bisharp took in a breath, and spat out some kind of pile of purple goo. The kind of thing that was probably not good for the environment. It was Toxic, a move that caused a bad poison, which would deal increasing amounts of damage after each round of battle. A good way to whittle down health over the period of a battle, and good way to take down something that would be troublesome otherwise.

    A little bit of the poison seemed to bounce off the Poliwag upon hitting it, and land on my arm.

    "Ahh, it burns, it burns!" I yelled out.

    You do know that is only harmful to Pokemon, right? Gardevoir asked and or possibly stated.

    The toxic doesn't hurt, I spilled some of this very hot coffee on my leg when I got hit by it.

    Where...where did you get a cup of coffee in the middle of a mountain?

    Do not question me!

    I returned my focus to the battle where I saw Poliwag staggering around, but working up the strength to fire off a move of its own. It took in a deep breath, and fired out a weakly powered blast of water. Most likely Water Gun, a Water-type move that didn't offer much anything besides some form of damage, and was therefore easily outclassed by much stronger moves.

    Bisharp did attempt to move out of the way, though Poliwag didn't lose grasp of its aim just yet, and managed to get a strike on the lowerside of Bisharp's body. Though as I rambled to myself before Water Gun didn't delivery that heavy of a hit, and so most of the damage was just shaken off.

    Poliwag started to glow purple and show signs of pain, signaling that it was taking damage from Toxic, as I stood here watching for what would occur next.

    @Ebail; so I took a long absence from URPG, can I carry this on or not? :)
