Beginner RP: dylanpiera

NBP #1

Woo! It had been a long time since Aleria had stepped foot in the park. She'd gotten so caught up in life that she just had to take a break from work and go on a nice, long vacation.

And then the moment she gets back from that vacation, backlog ahoy!!! Aleria had frowned the moment she saw it. One person had been waiting months to get into the park. She had contacted that person to see if they were still interested in going on the run. Another had also been waiting months, but Aleria heard that person had pretty much dropped off the face of the region like she had for a few months.

This guy was new though. And this run was somewhat shiny and new. They'd implemented the beginner runs about a year ago, but Aleria hadn't done one since the event that inspired these. Still, this would be fun. She brushed the figurative rust off her bag and clothes and made her way out to the Ranger Outpost closest to the Botanic Gardens. On foot. Gardens were not the place for her beloved Fire types, that was for sure. Hopefully this new guy wouldn't have too much trouble.

When she arrived at the outpost and scanned his file, she frowned again. 'Chinchou and Mudkip? Those are Water types. This area is full of Grass types,' she thought. Beyond the fact that she didn't like Water types that much, this area would be dangerous for the new guy. She wanted to groan, but she held it in. It wasn't like she'd be able to influence her companion. He'd paid for this run, and he'd probably get something out of it. This kid probably had a plan of action anyways.

Or so she hoped. She didn't want the head ranger to get on her ass about burning the gardens down, especially right after she got back. Aleria took a seat on a nearby bench and waited.

((I'm actually not sure how much RP you want this to have, haha. Not sure whether you just want to go from Pokemon to Pokemon or have a little fun with it. xD That said, just let me know what you want and I'll try to accommodate that for you~))

NBP #2

Her trainer was already fast approaching. Good. Not long of a wait then. She stood up and unlocked the gate into the park. As they walked in and she was closing the gate, she introduced herself. "Hey. I'm Aleria, and I'm your ranger for today." She put the keys for the gate in her bag and led him into the park. "I assume you've already read the rules of the park and all, so I'm not going to reiterate all that for you. Instead, I'll just lead you around here until we have some Pokemon."

She stopped speaking for a moment, leading him down a path. She'd never been to the Botanical Gardens before, so this area was a little new to her. It was different seeing it in person than on the maps she'd reviewed at least a thousand times. Hopefully she could remember those maps though. It had been a while since she'd actually been in any of the park areas.

"Alright, so you've got all your stuff for catching Pokemon and whatnot. You know you can keep whatever you don't use, right?" Small talk. Anything to get the conversation going, really. She had to sell the park to this guy basically, right? That and make sure he got the grasp of the park all in one go. "Is there anything in particular that you're looking for or will you just take whatever sounds good?"

((It's all good! I hope you feel better soon~ I just got on break for Thanksgiving from classes, so hopefully we'll be able to make some nice progress on this before I go back next week. I should still be able to make posts in between working on finals and whatnot. And I'll do my best to make this as RP oriented as possible! ))

Shroomish and Budew. Aleria nodded. Just because she liked Fire types above all else didn't mean that she didn't know about the other types. She had to. That was what good Pokemon trainers did. "Yeah, Shroomish won't be out right now, unfortunately, but they would be around here somewhere. You should definitely come back if you still want that Shroomish though and you don't get it through other means." Her mind flickered back to the list of Pokemon that lived in the Botanical Gardens. Budew was one of them too. "Budew would be though. Dunno if we'll see one, but I've heard Roserade is pretty cool." Her mind flickered back to another run she'd gone on; the trainer had a Roserade, but he had used the same moves two battles in a row. Hopefully her current trainer wasn't that bad, but given that he was new to the park, that was probably debatable. She'd just have to wait and see.

A flock of Taillow were in the trees, but none of them seemed particularly interested in the pair as they walked through the garden. Aleria shrugged. "Guess the Taillow don't feel like playing today. Might as well leave them be to their business." She continued to lead him down the path. A reddish Pokemon hung from the trees by its leaves. One of the cherries was blissfully sleeping while the other curiously looked at Aleria and her trainer. Aleria nodded to the Pokemon. "That Cherubi's interested in us though." She paused for a moment. "You can only take out one Pokemon from here today, but do you want to try for this Cherubi, or do you want to try looking for something else?"

NBP #4

Aleria nodded. Cherubi was not the Pokemon for Dylan. Got it. He had asked about the secret places in the area, and her mind went back to the mental map of the area she had in her head. Nothing was really coming to mind right off the bat. Then again, those secret places probably weren't on the map.

"Not off the top of my head," she replied. "But we can do some exploring, see what we can find."

She was about the lead him onward, but the Cherubi dropped from the tree and bounced off of her head. "Ow!" she whined. Stupid cherry jumping on her head. The Cherubi stood in front of them, blocking their path. Aleria frowned. Not only was this stupid cherry causing her pain, literally too, but it wasn't letting up. She turned to her trainer. "Looks like it's not letting us go by. We can try going a different way if you want, or you can use the Poke Doll they gave you for a guaranteed escape."

BP #1

"Yeah, I'm fine," Aleria replied, taking a step back as the trainer's Mudkip appeared. "I've dealt with worse. Just shocked me is all." Having a Cherubi fall on her head wasn't exactly her plan of action for today.

Still, the trainer was going to fight, and Aleria had to sit around and watch. This would be exciting though. Cherubi looked at the Mudkip curiously, but it was surprised when the Mudkip used Ice Beam on the ground around it. The cherry-like Pokemon ended up stumbling backwards and toppling over. There was some frost on the Cherubi, and the Pokemon shivered a bit as a result of the sudden frigid air that had come upon it. A little annoyed by the fact that this Mudkip was suddenly attacking it, Cherubi's leaves started glowing, and with swift waves of them, leaves shot out and struck Mudkip.

"Careful," Aleria warned. "You don't want your Mudkip to get too hurt this early on. If you can weaken it some, we might have an easier time getting away, or you can fight it until it faints. Up to you."

NBP #5

He was going to try running again. Good choice. An extended battle with this Cherubi would be taxing on Mudkip. "Yeah, we can do this. It should hopefully work." Aleria looked at the Cherubi. It was probably ready to defend its territory now.

"When Mudkip throws up the Protect, we'll run," Aleria said. She would say something too, just to make sure her trainer ran when she did and they didn't get separated. Cherubi released another stream of glowing leaves, another Magical Leaf. The barrier went up in front of Mudkip just before they were about to hit the little Water type. "Okay, go!"

And she started running. She wasn't much of a runner, but she ran. It wasn't like that was a particularly difficult skill for her to perform. Hopefully her trainer was behind her though. Aleria ended up running through the bushes and trees to her right, taking a bit of a shortcut through the gardens before stopping near a fountain. She looked around, and Cherubi wasn't anywhere near them. "Looks like we got away," Aleria breathed. "Let's take a moment to catch our breath then, and we'll figure out where to go from here, see what we can find you."

She took a seat on a nearby bench and pulled out her PDA, pulling up a map of the area. If it was secret places he wanted, it was secret places he was getting. There was a red dot on the digital map that showed her position in the park, but as she sat and caught her breath, she searched the map for a place to go from here.

NBP #6

"So I guess you're looking for a secret place," the trainer said. "Seems like we are both new here."

Aleria shrugged. "I haven't been here before, so yeah, I guess you could say I'm new." She could hear the trainer's Pokemon splashing behind her, but she paid no mind to it. They were Water types, and they were just playing in the fountain. Aleria doubted they would cause any trouble. She studied the map for a second longer, making a mental note of where the secret places were.

"So. While you do that. I'll go have a look around. See you in a bit," the trainer said. The splashing behind her stopped, and the trainer's Pokemon were returned to their Poke Balls.

"Whoa!" Aleria cried out, tossing her PDA into her bag without even paying much attention as to where exactly it was going. "Wait up!" She jumped up, grabbing her bag and chasing after the trainer. "We've gotta stick together!"
