URPG Roast- Auditions (Volunteering)

Welcome, Ladies and Gents, to the one and only show on earth where you will never be able to repeat anything you hear. Now, most of you will just be onlookers, and some participators in this crime against humanity (the UN's finally got us labeled as one now), but a few of you brave, brave souls will volunteer for the honor, the (in)dignity of being the URPG's first ever roastee! But even in this lawless wasteland, we do have a few rules:

1. Firstly, this is not the actual roast thread, this is where we're picking our roastee. Save your material for the show, broham.

2. If you want to volunteer, just post 'I volunteer' or whatever snarky thing you can come up with that gets that across.

3. No other posting in here please.

4. You've got four days to volunteer from this point onward, and I'm counting in Pacific time, because I'm a lazy bastard.

5. Remember to obey BMG's rules. Yes, I'm saying this already, it's important, and you'll all need all the reminding you can get.

6. ....I'd say have fun or something obligatory, but several of you will no longer be with us by the end of this experience. So, FARE THEE WELL, CHILDREN.


At the end of the volunteering period, I'll make a poll and you can all vote. Remember, we need everyone's participation to make this mess into a show, so get your acts together. :banana:

I want to be the first roastee. I'm pretty sure most of the vets will like roasting me. I don't really mind if I'm not here at the end of the roast, at least y'all can have fun roasting me.

I'm sure there's plenty you can dig up on me, so I'll humbly put my name in the hat along with all the other crazy bastards actually willing to put themselves on the line for the amusement of the masses we mostly don't know.

That would just give way to more roasting on that person's behalf.

 

This is a pretty stupid idea. If we wanted to roast any of you, we'd simply go to the URPG blast chat. Plenty of ammunition floating around there on a daily basis.

Thank you both for obeying the rules of the thread. *slowclap* ST, if you wanted to roast someone, you'd accidentally set them on fire and then ignite the earth's atmosphere, destroying all life on the planet. This is why we can't have nice things. Though you do have a point, which is to say that, what keeps this from being a mindless orgy of insults? The fact that it'll be watched over by an official who has to make sure it won't explode BMG and that it's going to have set rules. As for MK, I think I'm setting it up so that the roastees can go at each other and the person being roasted gets a post to bite back at the people roasting them. Like how they actually do it. I'll get a system set up.

So much to say that frustrates me about this dumb thread.

1) You're really playing with fire here. Yes, it is being watched over by an official and that the purpose of this is for fun, but it's easy to imagine things getting out of hand, particularly when or if things become personal. Yes, there are rules. Imagine when this actually happens though. Ask yourself will those rules be followed, particularly by a community like this? If you truly think yes, consider just a lone, over the line insult. That's more than possible, and starts a whole fuckfest. The worst part about is that the incident was not impromptu, but essentially organized. I can imagine someone carefree like alaska being perfectly cool with whatever is said, but maybe someone else who thinks they are up to the task turns out to be soft. Then, it could all snowball.

2) We do roasting a lot on AIM, if you want to call it that, but making a thread for it seems a bit too much. First and foremost, making a thread for this and saying it is supervised by an official makes us, the URPG community look very bad. Quite frankly and in all seriousness, I'd like to think we're above that no matter what kind of atrocities come out of our blast chats. I'm sure Harry would probably be disappointed and say something about how this is not how URPG is supposed to be. It's supposed to be for fun, and we do do our fair share of flaming on AIM - that'll never change. With that said, formally slamming others is overkill. Hell, even considering the concept is dumb. If you want to make jokes at others' expense, get on [URPG] and start some shit. Making this whole bother, though, makes me go ._.

3) It'll probably turn out to be a real disappointment. Organized roasting with rules and a moderator? Lmfao it'd be more fun to watch ted in an ashk FFA.

4) The people who volunteered to be roasted are, simply put, all fags looking for attention.

If we're going to roast anythng, roast this thread and its corresponding concept.

Also Nitro, yeah I'm totally a fag looking for attention and not someone who simply likes laughing at myself because *GASP* I have a sense of humor! God FORBID I shouldn't be trying to get attention because, hey, you always see me in chats going "OMFG QUOTE ME IN THE QUOTE THREAD LOLOLZ!!11!". I hardly make myself known when I'm in the chat; usually I sit back and watch everyone else, and that's normally because something more interesting like LP videos on Youtube or screwed up movies on the web has my attention. YAY SHORT ATTENTION SPAN AND BEING UNABLE TO FOCUS ON MULTIPLE THINGS AT ONCE.
