URPG Promotions - August 2014

Greetings Everyone,


In the last few weeks, there has been much talk of change, specifically in the direction of what we can do to improve the URPG and move it to the next level of gameplay. The ideas, suggestions, and comments have ranged across the board, revealing many new paths this community can take.

The URPG is not a static system. We are constantly changing and growing, as I truly have seen over my 11 years here. This is true for the activities we offer, the Pokemon available, the current generation of members, and the makeup of the leadership team.

Today marks the closure of one chapter of URPG history and the beginning of the next. Today we take another step on our long journey. Today I want to thank those who served and welcome those joining us.


Those Resigning from Leadership

Fierce Deity – FD joined the URPG team desiring to improve URPG activity and encourage the development of new ideas. He worked hard to ensure that members were heard and strove to create a fun community for everyone. I want to thank him for his dedication.

EmBreon – Emma has been a leader in the URPG for a long time, serving as a Moderator when I only was an Official. She’s seen the URPG face many challenges, yet worked to ensure that not only would we survive each trial, but succeed beyond our expectations. At one point, I expected she’d succeed me as Head, but it seems she beat me to the punch and has resigned. She will be missed.

Jack of Clovers – Jack was Head of the URPG before me, and there really is no way one can express gratitude for all that he’s done. He led the URPG for a very long period time, the majority of the years it was hosted on Pe2K. He encouraged development of the National Park and ensured the continuation of our community. The URPG went through it's most stable years during his reign and I want to thank him for his service.


Those Continuing to Serve

The following three gentlemen will continue to serve in the URPG leadership under different roles.

Chris - Chris was a Moderator when I became Head of the URPG and has led steadily since that time. I’ve relied on him for his clear thinking and steadfast dedication. He will continue on as a URPG as an Official.

Bumblebee - Bee came into the staff with a desire to enact the ideas we discussed and to address the needs, thoughts, and opinions of the URPG community. He actively sought to lead the URPG forward. I am happy he’ll remain a part of us as an Official.

Ataro - What can be said about Ataro? He’s served loyally as Second-in-command of the URPG and strove to ensure that we could grow even further as a community. He advanced the development of various resources that have helped the community and led during times of need. He will serve on the URPG Staff as a Moderator.


Those Gaining Greater Responsibilities

Swift - Anyone who has battled in the last few months knows that you can’t find a more consistent or willing ref than Swift. He’s always cheerful and always willing to help a battler out. Swift wants the the URPG to grow and I’m happy to welcome him to the team as a URPG Official.

Smiles - Smiles is one of the warmest and friendliest people you’ll ever meet. You can’t help but like her and become friends. She actively works to create a loving and welcoming community, so that we may continue to grow our family of friends. Everypony knows she’s the funziest person around and I’m happy to bring her onto the URPG staff as an Official.

Ash K. - As a Senior Ref, Ash is responsible for maintaining the standards and qualities that all refs follow. I’d say he does so brilliantly. Ash is perhaps one of the smartest individuals in the URPG and a dedicated leader in his own right. He has actively worked to help the community and I’m proud to add him to the staff as an Official.

BlueTowel - Blue has been working hard to develop areas and activities within the URPG that we’ve only dreamed about until now. Dungeons, Boss Battles, Creative Accomplishment; these are all projects that he has actively developed in order to elevate the community to new heights. This system rarely undergoes major changes, but when it does, it’s due to the visions of members like Blue. I’m honored to promote him to the position of Moderator.

Monbrey - I think we can all agree that there is one URPG member who has demonstrated leadership and dedication above and beyond the call of duty. He’s respected (or feared) throughout the community and no one doubts his ability to enact the hard decisions. Should something happen to me, I know the Pokemon Ultra RPG would be in good hands. I promote Monbrey to the position of Second, with all the responsibilities and privileges that entails.

Aw, but secret board!!! gg Game over man, game over!

During my tenure as an Official, I have been lending my eyes and ears to wherever discussions are to be had. While I hardly did participate in these discussion, I'm glad to see the new gen of players taking strides, and at some times, great lengths to keep this game going. It isn't as easy as people may think it is. It is these people, that we must thank for their voluntary leadership and hard work. Without them, this game wouldn't even be where it is today. So for all the past, present, and future officials, mods, or even a pokemart cashiers....
