URPG Wiki?

It might help record the history of URPG and spread the word about it, as well as giving an additional way for people to find information about it. *I can help with it if needed.

Just a crazy idea I had, I'd like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as well as if anyone would be willing to help if it happened.

I don't think a Wiki would really have much use for URPG. What would we have articles on? Having moves and stuff would basically just turn it into a worse version of Bulbapedia.

I like the idea of something to record URPG history, though. Just don't think a Wiki is the best way to do that.

 

50% of what's on our forums IS a wiki in essence.

As Chainy said, this is already happening.

 

I would also like some record of URPG history, what would you propose is better than a Wiki? I'm not totally attached to the Wiki myself, I just don't see a huge problem with it as the medium of URPG recorded history.

 

It's not that there's something which immediately jumps out to me as being better, I just wonder how it would work structurally. Articles for each major event in the URPG is the only thing popping to my mind, but then is there really that much to say about each of them that a whole article is needed? I guess you could also have articles on notable people to, but then we get into the territory of "what constitutes notable?".

Tbh, if it went ahead, I'd be more than happy to help with it. Just think maybe seeing a bit more information and planning on it might help convince me more, and since it's being worked on already, I'm sure that'll come soon.

fill out with things about yourself, i.e. how many badges, fav food, fav pokemon

It could include history and things about the workings of URPG, the only thing about moves would probably be things refs need to know that isn't consistent on other sites. Articles could be on things in the park, different professions, history, difficulties of Pokémon, availability and prices in the mart, etc. Possibly even have the Ultra Dex or something simila included for Pokémon pages, since that way it links to moves (which the Ultra Dex doesn't do) and list older generation moves (which Bulbapedia doesn't do on Pokémon's main page).

There are plenty of clever ways to use it if you're creative enough.

Also, there could be pages on individual members and various things they've done, as well as history of specific gyms (including all their owners), etc.

 

I like the bio idea. Perhaps one for every mod or someone who contributed greatly?​
