I'd like to know why you can't trade mons for items/tms/money.

I don't see anything wrong with it, or how it could be abused.

I'd like to suggest that we should be able to trade items, for mons. I'm sure lot's of people would like making these types of trades :D

And Like Me Especially >.>

I'm guessing it's because URPG is trying to stay as close to the games as possible, or because then Pokemon would be treated as commodities rather than friends! I'm not against this idea, I just think it would take quite a bit of planning and work to get implemented and to define what a fair trade is. Although, I'm almost postitive this wouldn't get approved regardless. ;x Consider we just made a huge transition to BMG and all, and another big change is the last thing we need right now while we're still getting settled in.

Perhaps to stay close to the games it could be allowed that traded pokemon can hold items and as such items could be traded. If you just factor in the value of the item into the value of the pokemon it would be possible to make sure those trades are still fair.

It's abusable in that a semi-decent writer could catch a bunch of low level pokemon, then sell them to those who cannot write well and thus rake in huge (virtual) cash and discourage people from writing their own stories (why bother when you can pay someone to do it for you?)

    Your stupidity knows no bounds.

Edit: Not justifying this thread with an explanation; the answer is no.

Sorta off-topic but sorta on-topic, what about trading items for items?
Only if they're equal value though. Like what if you buy a Magnet, but you traded your Jolteon so you don't need it anymore but you want to buy a Scope Lens, so you post about trading for it? Though it's unlikely, someone could have a Scope Lens they regret buying and want the Magnet instead.
You wouldn't have to specify what you want to trade an item for per se (though you'd have to approve an offer), but they would still have to have the same value.
You couldn't trade a Magnet for Leftovers, for example.

This already happens. Trading story mons for mart mons with lots of TMs. That's restricted though, so yeah.

Trading story mons for mart mons with lots of TMs is perfectly fine though.

Trading mons for items/TMs is not. And you can already buy mons.

It's just not a civilized way to do things, and it would take the fun out of things. Near you only want this because you're obsessed with getting all the good mons because you think it will make you better at battling, but this is not a good idea.

Short answer: no, its not right. :shy: I am very much against it.

I know this is bumping, but I like the idea of the trading items for items. Say you get an item you don't need/want, but someone else wants it, you should be able to trade it to them for an item you want.

I don't think so. Just wait until a giveaway happens and get ride of your items then, also try to avoid reviving dead threads :]
