think about it, these tests normally last in excess of an hour but pay the same as a 2v2 battle that would often take 10 minutes. The tester has to both battle and ref increasing their workload.

I propose that either we double the pay to 2k or we make them pay the same as a 6v6 battle would (3k)

Yes, and thanks. We're talking about 60+ minute battles with intensive moves on the old calculator paying only 1,000. That's silly.

    Oh, its only 1k?

@[email protected] I thought it was 2 or 3k or something.

My assumption above only provides a nice stance that ref tests are unbelievably under the common standard I would normally see. "A 2v2 battle pays more than a Ref Test." One takes only several minutes to perform, the other is a tedious job that seems to take much more effort (taking in Pidge's account). Although I am not a ref, I have taken the ref test before, and I must say... now that I've figured how low Testers are payed for them, that it seems just right to provide a higher payroll.

I would consider that Ref Testers should be payed more of something like 2k or 3k, but not something outrageously high due to the large volume of people who take ref tests, and the possibility that some 6v6 battles could take much longer that a Ref Test.

    I support this case.

I agree that there should be an increase, but I think it should be dependant on something.

Like, ref testing a beginner who fails after 6 moves shouldn't pay the same as a full-blown hour-long ref test.

This was brought up before, and I can't remember what the argument for not increasing it was, but it definitely needs to have something done about it.

I agree. 1k for an hour (usually more, just depends) of ref testing is dumb. I remember taking this test 6 to 8 times, all which took over an hour and a half. I'm sure the ref tester was annoyed at how long I took during turns. Also, its not like they use the same tests each time. Each one they have to make up while they go. I think they should get paid at least 3-5k (yeah, I know 5k won't be used, but I still think that's what they should get paid)

The previous reason given to reject this idea was because ref testers are experienced URPG members that already have their means of earning a lot of money. The $1k becomes like a sort of incentive, and increasing it to $3k won't make much of a difference to that ref tester's wages. And also because this was supposed to be something that people do to help improve the URPG, not just doing it for the sake of money.

Personally, I don't really care. While I agree that we're not doing it for the sake of incentives but just improving the URPG, I suppose giving someone more incentives for his effort won't hurt. Increase to $3k would be nice, but I don't mind if there isn't an increase as well.

Very true. (According to accounts from PE2k,) the URPG population has been bustling to an intense limit after it branched out to BMG.

This makes testing more or less of a job, instead of a literal "treat", which means there should a increased payroll.

And the intensity is not likely to drop off. Not only do we need more refs (and every other profession) for the B&W release which will surely drive in members to the URPG on both forums, but also those new members will, in turn, desire to become refs themselves.

That will result in a lot of people wanting ref tests.

Whether it's actually going to be very useful to the ref tester or not does not mean too much at this point. Increasing the pay to 3k seems a little more reasonable all around and is a way to show our appreciation.

And its important that th test is done properly as well, you can't just do a hlaf assed effort, its not a case of just rolling attackes and plugging them into the calc (which almost anyone can so) like many basic battles are

Ref tests were/are never about the money, no matter how many tests you do per day it still shouldn't be about the money, but I also see no problem in upping to to 2k.
