    HOW WE WILL DO THIS
    Decreased TM Prices: We plan to make a modest but noticeable reduction in the cost of TMs - currently expected at a 20% decrease rounded to the nearest ~500 or ~000.

    Increased Pokemon Prices: This will help offset the decreased TM prices in the form of a logical uptick for Pokemon prices, currently expected at a 30% increase rounded to the nearest ~500 or ~000.

    -Daycare/HM/Dream World/Item Costs WILL Stay the Same: Self-explanatory

    -New Members Start with More Money: To accommodate higher Pokemon prices, new URPG members will start with more money than the current $3000. Currently, the expectation is that we pay the noobs $8000 when they join, $5000 more from now.

    -Additionally, we have explored the possibility of running a trial period first, to see how this goes.

    Summary/tl;dr:

    -TMs prices will be lowered, currently figure at a rounded 20%
    -Pokemon prices will be raised, current figure at a rounded 30%
    -Daycare/HM/Dream World/Item Costs stay the same
    -New Members start with more money, current figure at $8000
    -Possible trial period
    -Not yet set in stone that this goes through; we want your opinion!

    For a rough idea of what the PokeMart may look like after:

    TM01 Mega Punch - $4,000 -> $3,000
    TM02 Razor Wind - $4,500 -> $3,500
    TM03 Swords Dance - $3,500 -> $3,000
    TM04 Whirlwind - $3,000 -> $2,500
    TM05 Mega Kick - $4,000 -> $3,000
    TM06 Toxic - $4,500 -> $3,500
    TM07 Horn Drill - $6,500 -> $5,000
    TM08 Body Slam - $4,500 -> $3,500
    TM09 Take Down $4,000 -> $3,000
    TM10 Double Edge - $5,500 -> $4,500
    TM11 Bubble Beam - $5,000 -> $4,000
    TM12 Water Gun - $3,500 -> $3,000
    TM13 Ice Beam - $5,000 -> $4,000
    TM14 Blizzard - $7,000 -> $5,500
    TM15 Hyper Beam - $6,500 -> $5,000

    So, let us know what you think.

    Are you saying all the starters are bad because they cost less than Protect/Detect?

    Also, I agree with this thread.

    I, Pman, hereby declare that I am surprised this thread was actually what it claimed to be, I also declare that I am in favour of the proposed changes, pending a vote by the government of the Pokemon Ultra Roleplaying Game (hereafter: URPG) or a referendum if required by the constitution of the URPG.

    I think this is a good idea. I have problems EM'ing up Pokemon and too many new Pokemon that pile up with no real value in my stats.

    Jess told me that she'd give me a cookie if I posted here and said yes. So this is me posting here & saying yes.

    I kind of agree with this anyways since I don't buy marts very often anyways, and I kinda need EMs for my gym 'mons & my non-gym 'mons. So yes to this.

    > i also liked the picture. gg

    I think this is a great idea, even as a new player, but not(long story). The raising of prices can also help direct people to become creative and use the Art section, the Stories section as well as the National Park. The TMs are at sky high rates and really should be brought down in accordance. It also could allow for newer people to have more complexly powerful Pokemon to create more competition, whereas now someone who just joined will want to spend all their money on new Pokemon.

    tl;dr: Yes, this is a great idea

    Also new, but been encouraged to chime in, sooo

    I like the sound of this. TM prices seem kinda high to me for how much Pokémon seem to need to defend themselves against the extremely wide movepools in trainer battles, Mart Pokémon seem really low in comparison to National Park costs or the effort of creation for rarer pokémon. When I first started I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't jump straight into National Park and start roleplaying in the roleplaying game, and I was kinda lost at first for what to do to start building up until I was invited to do some Basics battles on AIM.
