Working on a new Live Roleplaying Adventures idea. Ran an experiment with a few URPGers to see how it would work out.

As stated earlier, here are the links to the adventure logs.

    Part 1
    Part 2
    Part 3

I would love your feedback. What you enjoyed. What you think could be improved. What mechanics felt worked. What you felt didn't work. Which elements you particularly liked. Etc.

Hopefully we'll get a few more runs in to see what is the best way to go about this.

Oh yes, I also have your character info and the perks I gave each position.

    Fawkes – Cinccinno, Caarracosta
FC – Grader, Nimbasa (Electricity): Jolteon, Vaporeon
GMan – Ref, Judge, Ranger, Violet (Flying): Whimsicott, Breloom
Magic Kid – Ref, Grader, Judge, Mahogany (Ice): Arcanine, Alakazam
Maverick – Ranger, Fortree (Flying), Sinnoh: Lucario, Haxorus
Monbrey – Ref, Judge, Cinnabar (Fire): Charizard, Arcanine

    Ref - +4 Initiative
    Grader - Common Sense Feat
    Ranger – Survival Skills
    Judge - +4 Perception

    Magic Kid
Mark Chate - a 17-year old boy, who, while he can sometimes appear as somewhat cocky and arrogant, usually has others' best interests as heart. He stands at about 6', with styled-messy brown hair, a typical style of modern teenagers. He has a habit of rushing headlong into situations, and can act pretty brash in the heat of a moment. He is loyal and usually tries to take control, to the annoyance of people around him. He treats his Pokemon with the utmost care, and the mutual trust with each of them has made him bond with every single one. The Pokemon he is taking into the RP are Arcanine and Alakazam.

    gmandiddy
    Name: Joe Tucker
Occupation: Pokemon Ranger and Newspaper Reporter.
Description: Joe has short blonde hair which is hidden by a medium orange cap. He wears an orange jacket with the word branded across 'Ranger'. He also wears orange trousers and nike shoes. He also carries around a backpack in which he holds a small note where he writes down his findings when he goes on a trip.

Personaility: Since Joe is a ranger, he works great in a team. However if the Joe makes a bad decsion, he feels guilty and starts to delay his deiscision making.

    Pokemon: Whimsicott, Breeloom

I'm a ref, Judge, Ranger, Violet Gym Leader, Editor in Cheif of the URPG Times. I have no completed reigons.

    Monbrey
Ryan - A 21 year old computer science student, he stands at 6'1 with unstyled brown hair, his bright blue eyes slightly obscured behind his glasses. A playful person at heart, he tends to insult his those close to him in a friendly way, and is always looking for fun. He usually wears jeans, and a shirt with a funny slogan or band logo.

    Fawkes
    Name: Joseph
    age: 17
job: unemployed living off mom, genarel waster
Description: Battled alot in his younger years with his trusty pal Rattata named "TopPer", Rattata got fed up of josephs lack of skill and ran away, Joseph Vowed to get better and prove to TopPer that he is worthy. This makes him very competitive and slightly aggressive, just like teenage angst
Appearance: Wears Yellow shirt and blue shirts ever since he was a child, the possibility of him owning any other form of clothing is unknown to friends and family
    Pokemon: Cincinno and Caarracosta

History: no jobs or profession, just like my character lol

    FC
Tobias is a very awkward person. He's clumsy and doesn't always make the best descisions, though his heart is always in the right place. He doesn't like being alone and tries to stick around whomever he's most comfortable with. Being very self conscious, he fidgets with his hands often, either clinging onto the straps to his riduculously small backpack, or with any small item he may come across. Since he's so shy, he sometimes talks to his Pokemon, Jolteon and Vaporeon.

    Maverick
    Eddie
He often enjoys both humans and Pokémon alike. He's often reckless and is more willingly to jump head first into danger. He has complete faith in all of his Pokémon and will not doubt them for a second. He’s about 6’0, weighing in at 140 pounds and he’s 20 years old. Being overly hyperactive, his mind tends to skip during a battle but will easily be brought back when he really needs to.
Description:A light blue jacket with a black undershirt, black jeans, and red high-top shoes. He wears a red hat with a black skull symbol on it. He uses a black and gray laptop bag to hold his stuff.
    Lucario and Haxorus(Nukem)
    Occupation: Ranger, URPG Times reporter
I'm a ranger, Fortree Gym Leader, Reporter for the URPG Times. Sinnoh region is completed.

6 people seemed like too many, often some dialogue from players was missed and makes it hard to get a sort of 'synch' between players, when everyone knew what everyone else was doing, There was a time in the car, when it was falling iirc, that everyone was just posting what they were doing pretty fast, maybe limit it down to possibly 4.

more Prompts, if the DM was to initiate events more often the flow of the RP would go a lot smoother in my opinion, a good example of this was when DM initiated a phone call for Monbrey, everyone knew the RP was focused on Monbrey at that point and everyone else did their best to limit input, just like if it was a real call.

Possibly the biggest limitation of this however is the Timescale, it took us around 3 hours? and even then it might not have been long enough for the scale of the adventure (after the phone call we essentially just zapped to the top of Mt. Chimney, i feel this was done in an attempt to rush along the RP). Either make the adventure more simplified or ensure that players have a good few hours before playing.

Lastly, I found it hard to imagine how this would be rewarded

WE SAVED THE TOWN OF LAVARIDGE. Doing good is its own reward.

But seriously, what's the exchange rate on good things done? Gimme some cash.

So this is what you guys do when I'm writing about the symbolism in The Catcher in the Rye....

I am reading and enjoying this. Reminds me of that thing Dai used to do, only more coherent. Also, I agree with Fawkes about the timescale thing. Three hours is too much for most people :X

Well, loot can come in the form of the items you found on the scientist's body or whatever the grunts left behind as they ran off. The mother might be grateful that you rescued her and offered you some sort of reward for your heroic efforts (you did save her daughter after all).

There are a myriad of ways the party can be rewarded.

Also, I can't believe you hate the dead man's sandwich.
