Ranger Wages: to 12/1

Wages are here!

Remember that wages earned this month will receive a bonus too! Of which I'll apply when I dish out the wages. For now, these are normal. Rangers also had a pay bump recently, so they will not likely be bumped again so soon.

-Welcome to the family! Since I've been gone, here are some pointers:

-Please please please label your actual posts for what they are. It is incredibly hard to count otherwise because sometimes links don't work or are not linked properly. It's been a nightmare in the past.

-Try to avoid OHKOs by Trainers trying to avoid escaping creatively. In theory, OHKOs shouldn't really happen at all. If they want to battle to scare it off, that's one thing. If they're creative about it, it can work, but it should not be so easy. There's more info on escaping in the pedia. OHKOs and knocking out every Pokemon a Trainer doesn't' want is actually cruel and against PPPP of the park both in character and out.

-Technically weapons can be against PPPP too for RP.

-If a Battle post is labelled as such, make sure there is actually a battle in it--battle as in the wild Pokemon also battles and it is described by you. That's what the extra pay denotes, for the extra effort put into it. Otherwise the post will not be paid as one.

-Also keep in mind that your posts must also be at least 500 characters. The BP#1 from Luck's run went unpaid in this case because it was only 300-some characters.

In that one OHKO case, I was deliberately using the utter imbalance in the fight, and emphasizing the one-sidedness of it. If he had continued to try to do that, I actually had something planned; there would have been less success, and an in-character discussion/admonishment (for his character's thoughtless behaviour in KO'ing both parts of a nesting pair of Spearow and endangering the eggs.)

As it was, he heeded my Ranger character's warning and did not go for another KO.

 

Indeed, and that's great. Just remember that Trainers shouldn't also be able to run like that so easily all the time either. Part of the cost of running for free when you do stuff like that is that you usually get a little battle-worn. Shouldn't be free; not without enough balance of effort.
