    YEEEEEEE

    Really great round of grades this month, everyone! SWC's here and that means: GRADER BONUSES YAY! I'd also love to see all of you enter, too!

    @WinterVines; $8,250
    • The Life and Lies of Kyle Weedle: Strong Moderate, 7,500 (+750) = 8,250

    @Elysia; $36,950
    • Input Lag: Strong Moderate, 8,500 (+850) = 9,350
    • The Ultimate Story (Chapter 26): Strong Complex, 23,000 (+4,600) = 27,600

    You are my hero <33333

    @Peaceful Giraffe; $2,420
    • Aspiration: Basic, 2,200 (+220) = 2,420

    @Elrond 2.0; $30,600
    • In Way Over His Head: Strong Moderate, 9,500 (+950) = 10,450
    • Sunset: Moderate, 5,000 (+1,000) = 6000
    • The Broken Dancer: Strong Moderate, 5,500 (+1,650) = 7,150
    • Washed up and weary: Moderate, 5,000 (+2,000) = 7,000

    Your grades are looking REALLY good! Just a quick note on characterizations - be careful about the point on the narrator going too much into the character's head. Simplicity is good. Saying a character wants to dance can be as good as loading the narrative with action-oriented details about dancing that might convolute the story in the moment. Balance is good. Also, this point may verge a little too much into the writing style, so we gotta be a little careful.

    If it helps, keep in mind that the goal of grading is firstly to help the writer do what they're currently doing even better! For example, if you notice that a writer has a predilection for including many details about their characters' inner thoughts, how about suggesting to the author that they try the first-person narrator style? I think the second goal of grading is to inspire - help the author discover ways to strengthen their current style so they get that much more excited / are better equipped to write the next story :)

    Smiles $8,250
    • On Again/Off Again, Episode 1: Pilot: Moderate, 7,500 (+750) = 8,250

    Thank you everyone for being so great!! Let me know if I made a mistake here!

    EDIT: claimed my monies ^^
