    new year wages!! ♡

    Notes:

    • Ely and I combined efforts to do wages, so that's why you'll hear both of our voices here ^^
    • the 1.5 profession bonus does NOT go towards legendary tracker
    • you are all awesome ♡

    @Lovecraft // $6,000 + BONUS = $9,000

    • Rescue // Moderate // $6,000
      This was good critique, but also tell the author how they can improve. You do this well in the description section, but a lot of your commentary under plot is bashing the author's plot for not following the way you think it should--which is okay-ish, but would be supplemented by some suggestions for how to make it less-cliche, for example.
    @Magikchicken // $3,000 + BONUS = $4,500

    @Origamidragons // $31,950 + BONUS = $47,925

    • A Day in the Life of a Slowpoke // Strong Moderate // $9,500
      This was good stuff! Really encouraging while still helpful, especially for a younger author. One thing that's probably a typo--you mention word count in the length section, but it's definitely character count.
    • A Botched Landing // Strong Moderate + 3k Regrade Bonus // $13,450
      Brave attempt at grading poetry! One thing I would note in your grammar section--like you said, poetry (and honestly, some trippier ends of writing in general) are okay with chucking grammar out the window. In that case, it helps to emphasize to the writer that they can do what they want, but that they should do it consciously, and that when they break the rules of grammar, they can but should do it for a reason.
    • A New Generation // Moderate // $9,000

    Overall, you've been doing fantastic work helping with the backlog. What a wonderful start, and keep up the good work!

    Smiles // $75,000 + BONUS = $112,500

    • A Christmas M-Oric-le // Strong Moderate + 3k Regrade Bonus // $8,500
      YES GOOD. Loved the commentary on the author's general strengths in writing funny things.
    • A Moonlight Siege // Moderate // $5,500
    • The Forge // Strong Moderate // $10,800
      das some high-end critique for a new writer but you phrased it well!
    • The Act of Contrition // Complex // $13,000
      NORMALLY I WOULDN'T ENCOURAGE COMPLEX GRADES ON STORIES THIS SHORT (I think the cutoff was ~25k), but this was a seasoned author and you had a lot of insight without rambling too long. AWESOME.
    • Spectra // Complex // $25,200
    • Frenzy // Strong Moderate // $12,000

    @Elysia // $301,700 + BONUS = $452,550

    CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE MORE THAN DOUBLED THE RECORD FOR MOST $$$ EARNED VIA GRADER WAGES. AND ALL VERY MUCH DESERVED.

    • Origins of Squad Six // Strong Moderate // $10,450
    • The Blaze Across the Prairie // Moderate // $6,000
    • Grunt // Moderate // $7,150
    • World Beyond the Glass // Extensive // $47,600
    • Damien // Strong Basic // $4,500
      I THINK THIS IS YOUR FIRST BASIC GRADE EVER. but basic grades for short stories are actually a good thing! You offered plenty of guiding advice to give this new author strong direction! I'M SORRY YOU BROKE TWO RECORDS IN ONE VIA THESE WAGES.
    • Null // Complex // $19,200
    • New Species... // Moderate // $10,200
    • Type: Null // Complex + 3k Regrade Bonus // $21,600
      Multiplier ends here, as the story above is the 8th … LIKE YOU NEED IT.
    • MIRRORS // Extensive // $160,000
      FIRST OF ALL. THIS THING WAS 134 PAGES IN WORD. AND YOU READ IT LIKE 5 TIMES. WHAT. And it was not the easiest berry in the bunch to pick and read, I'm sure. This is definitely the farthest existentialist I'll go for a while cause I got to the point where I wanted to take the derivative of everything, and the entire time what was being written was important as how it was being written. I forgot myself at times what was symbolic and what was concrete as a different style, so I can't even imagine what it was like grading this. URPG gives me space to try out all this crazy stuff, even if it's so convoluted and intense and not even anywhere close to Pokemon fan fic anymore.

      AND THEN YOU SHOW UP TO THIS GRADE WITH AN INSANE AMOUNT OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND PURE CARE. This grade, this right here, brings me back to why I love the urpg story section so much. I wouldn't receive a review of my work with this high-level of advice literally anywhere else on the internet. Real life I'd have to pay big monies for this kind of review, and even then it wouldn't have been the same cause you know my older works enough to talk about the overall style. It reignites in me this childhood dream I have of becoming a published author one day. It feels more possible, and closer, every day. thank you so much for that. I can't explain fully how grateful I am for your review. You deserve every single penny.
    • [END LOG] // Complex // $12,000

    @origamidragons @Smiles
    I messed up the math on your wages a bit 'CAUSE I'M A DERP. SORRY. You actually get more money, so yay.

    @Magikchicken
    You do get paid for regrades 'cause you gotta reread the whole story and so forth, so don't forget to log these next time so you get paid! I edited you into the main wage thread.

    I don't really have a reaction gif but I'm claiming my pile of money O.O

    Claiming my 4.5k, and putting 3k toward that Grading legendary (someday...!)

    @Smiles and @Elysia holy cow! No wonder I couldn't find any stories to grade when I got home yesterday! Kudos!!

    That Mirrors story is something I'll have to put on my to-do list, it sounds intense!
