Be sure that when you fail someone, you give them a clear list of things they can do to improve their scores--either a couple things or a bunch of things they can pick and choose from. Don't just list all the faults and leave. Most people try to fix their failures so they can get captures, so they need to know how to do that specifically.

Also be careful not to fall in the preferences=/=quality trap (realism, outlines, etc). What you prefer, say like realism, doesn't always mean that's high quality or that's the only way to obtain higher quality. Plenty of non-realistic things can be high quality; they just require different techniques to achieve.
