As many of you are aware, there has been a lot of talk lately about a "fixed" Nervous Clause. I'd like to formally permit all judges to run RSE Contests with any variant of the Nervous Clause they see fit. Please post in this thread afterwards with a link to the log and the exact rule(s) used. Anyone who wants to comment on any of the Nervous Clause variants tried or wishes to suggest more may also post here.

Nothing conclusive from this one, but might as well include it since it used Nervous Cap.

Contests 13-16 continued my trials with Nervous Cap. People were using it and fearing it less and less.

...so I modified it into Nervous Lid, which is certainly effective.

I'll be doing more Nervous Lid contests to get a better idea of if it's too powerful or not. I'll keep Nervous Lid contests to normal/super to ensure they don't grant whoever I roll into first position a free hyper/master ribbon.

Tried out Nervous Lid with the cap at 6 instead of 4, seemed much less broken but was still used.

    This is officially over.

You may use this thread to discuss opinions on various Nervous Clauses.

Mine started out fine at first, but very soon people were only using it out of novelty. Same story with Julio's, especially post-nerf.

I'm late and mostly disengaged from this topic, but I did wonder if the payout rates for Nervous were just pulled down to achieve a balance where they would have a niche as, say, a catch-all way to preserve a lead or maybe as an alternative option for a position 1 appeal without being too likely to pay out. For example: 33% odds of failing to move, with 22%/11%/0% after condition modifiers, or even just 30%/25%/20%/15%.

I didn't get to play in any Nervous Lid contests, but just from a guess, I think I would prefer lower odds as a contestant than the lid -- both in terms of using a nervous move and being a target of one. It would seem to have more practical use when it can force a zero, but I'd obv like it to be something where you have to swing for the fences a bit. (This way it has good odds of neutering copy without screwing anyone over individually.)
