Heyo,

You may be a fan of "randoms" battling, which is most commonly known as a 6v6 Public Open match where you roll random Pokemon out of your stats to send. You may also realize that randoms are, in fact, trash and not good.

But I have an alternative for you! And even better: it's not an original idea. To my knowledge, the Private Preview Random format is Elrond's brainchild, and Elrond is an angel, and this idea is beautiful.

You are softly encouraged to replace all of your normal randoms-ing with these, which, hey, your SRs would also appreciate, because it solves certain headaches that come with our station.

YOUR BASIC RULES // boring, unless somebody makes it obvious that they didn't read these

-Anyone with at least six Pokemon can enter by posting in this thread.
-There is a $10,000 entrance deposit applied for all entrants, who can post to claim upon exiting the tournament unless in case of disqualification.
-You’ll get two weeks for your battle. If you know you’re going to be busy, don’t sign up because you’ll only complicate it for the rest of us. If you end up busy regardless, don’t stress it, but I suggest reaching out to your opponent as soon as match-ups are posted to set a time.

YOUR SPECIAL RULE // elrond is your OG

After rules are posted, each battler sends a numbered list of every Pokemon you own to the referee. You can remove up to 33 percent, rounded up, of your Pokemon.* From that list, the referee will privately roll six Pokemon for each battler, from which point abilities and held items can be selected and the battle will continue as normal.

*If you own 64 Pokemon like I do, you can remove 22 (21.12 rounded up). Unevolved Pokemon can be removed for free. You only need to send the final list to the referee, without needing to list the omissions anywhere, but if it even looks like you're trying to abuse the rule, boy, you're getting smacked.

PRIZES // subject to participation, please participate

First place: a Complex-level or lower Pokemon with three EMs in addition to winning rights, which is what you should be playing for anyway.

Second place: a Hard-level or lower Pokemon with two EMs in addition to runner-up rights, which isn’t what you were playing for but is respectable anyway.

Third place: a Medium-level or lower Pokemon with one EM in addition to finishing third, so on the bright side, you won your last battle.

Fourth place: a Simple-level or lower Pokemon and a wooden spoon, pretty shameful

Before any battles of a round commence, post your predictions for each matchup in the tourney thread for that round (ie NOT this thread).

Do this for each round, and at the end of the tourney I will tally up the total correct predictions for each person participating.

The person/people with the most correct predictions will get a sweet prize from me next Gift Station!

Anyone can participate, regardless of tourney participation, but there is a catch; I will automatically tally you as your own prediction for any matchup you are in.
