Everyone, here is the second round of the 2013 Gym Leader Tournament! The battle rules can be found below. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, this round will end at 8AM GMT+9:30 on the 11th of January, 2014. Please remember to post the battle logs in this thread. A short description is required, but you can keep if vague if the battlers wish it so. The Gliscorman vs Elamite battle resulted in Gliscorman being passed because he contacted his opponent first. That means you should all drop your opponents a line as soon as possible!

this was a whacky rollercoaster ride of a battle, eventually WTP and Dragonite were able to cleanup the darkies though and restore racial balance.

This was a pretty good battle, Chris made some risky plays which you have to make in tourneys, unfortunately he lost his Gengar when he decided not to Sucker Punch against the 1 HP Lunatone and instead go for a Hypnosis, this costly loss resulted in Chris forfeiting.

mfw i thought i'd go mistake free, & then i forget lefties and fuck.

Buuuuuut. Monbrey got con'd and par'd, and he got 3 turn confusion twice. Wooo~ Stuff happened. There were Leftovers that were forgotten, Stealth Rocks that were forgotten... I'm not sure what's worse: my logging skills or my reffing skills. There were a lot of unexpected plays, but Monbrey made a win happen. He advances, and unfortunately, Akinai is eliminated. (Or maybe it's fortunately because no more 3 hour battles for her! xDDD)

Electric City Gym Leader Synthesis vs Steel City Gym Leader Neonsands
{Manectric(Mega), Electivire, Eelektross, Raichu, Rotom-W, Lanturn} vs {Excadrill, Scizor, Mawile(Mega), Durant, Ferrothorn, Metagross}

I'm not really one to write big logs, but this was a pretty good battle. The momentum shifted back and forth a lot. There were times when I was sure both battlers were about to sweep (including Metagross with Att/SpA/Spe+2). Syn did a great job counteracting Neon's Pokemon, which I think had a shmidge of an advantage. I think he won because he got more out of his Pokemon, but both did a good job. Syn also got lucky at the end when Durant's XScissor missed and it also smacked. I dunno if that would've mattered, in the long run, but it probably would've. Anyway, one more falls!

Nitro v. CommBA

Nitro: Starmie, Alakazam, Slowbro, Gallade, Metagross, Espeon
CommBA: Golurk, Drifblim, Gengar, Chandelure, Aegislash, Sableye

Nitro made some wild plays that almost worked out, but ultimately an all ghost vs an all psychic team isn't going to end well for the psychics.

Princess Crow vs Ataro

Crow: Greninja, Rotom-Wash, Slowbro, Starmie, Ludicolo, Azumarill
Ataro: Kangaskhan, Ambipom, Lopunny, Porygon-Z, Ursaring, Miltank

Crow started out strong with her Greninja Power-Up Punching Miltank to death and then taking a chunk out of Ambipom. It turned a bit then, as Crow tried to use slippery tactics to overcome Ataro's tough Pokemon but in doing so her Pokemon were weakened by Ataro's earlier Stealth Rock. Lopunny got an Agility up and managed to kill Rotom and then Baton Passed to Ursaring. However, a Waterfall from Huge Power Choice Banded Azumarill in the Rain just barely managed to deal with it. Mega-Kangaskhan soon dealt with Azumarill, and it took the rest of Crow's entire team to bring it down. Starmie killed Lopunny but it just wasn't fair to except it to deal with Porygon-Z while Encored.
