This round will last from the moment this is posted until January 4th, 2016 at 11:59pm EST. Battles that have not been completed will have the more active opponent advanced, unless the battle is actively in progress at that time. Pay for this is $4000 for the winner, $2000 for the loser, and $4000 for the ref; wages for the ref will be given at the end of each round.

Neon vs Winter - As battlers, they're pretty much even, but I think that the type advantage could be crucial here

Big Daddy V vs Dash - as much as I want Dash to win (and he definitely could) he just doesn't have enough confidence
Xali vs CommBA - RIP, Commbro ;-; syke this will probably be a close one too tbh but water just far more versatile

Lovecraft vs. swiftgallade46 - LC will see the matchup and decide he doesn't have time for the tourney and forfeit instead
Big Daddy V vs Dash - Might as well just call this Poison Tourney because here's another Poison type
Xali vs CommBA - Xali is washed up and doesn't stand a ghost of a chance. jk, i'll take down like 3 and a half and try some risky shit that is not gonna work out at all

 

Neon - This will be the highlight of the tourney. Both will have great use of mons, predictions and moves. Item choices will be very crucial here and whoever successfully outplays the other in the item game will gain momentum for a while. mega predictions and hazards will both play a crucial role and both players will have to make sacrifices. winter's sacrifices needed at the climax will be too great putting her in an almost unwinnable position but not necessarily a loss. V interesting to see how things turn out with this one

Swift - both will play well, with some great and some missed predictions by both. Lack of EMs = lack of options = probable downfall for lc but he could still do it if he perseveres

PV - PV will get cocky and soul will take advantage of this however as the battle wears on soul will sort of give up and pv will dominate, still good battle tho

Xali - jalapeno will do something really silly making him vulnerable to com's consistency + one or two sneaky plays by cb will have xali looking grim but then xali will do something equally amazing and unorthodox that seems completely illogical and win out of nowhere

 

Do you really need a tourney to battle with yourself?

 

He's guaranteed to lose it, so that means he'd be out, right?

Lovecraft vs SwiftGallade: During my brief tenure as Saffron's Leader I saw other worldy things... Swift is quick and his Pokemon can read minds, they have a mega upperhand....

Vultan vs Dash: The Shalour luchadores will put up a valiant fight, but alas... their hopes will be dashed by Vultan

Xali vs Commba: How dare you call me washed up.... I will sink your spirits faster than the Titanic and you'll be sleeping with the fishes at the bottom of the Mariana Trench!!

Lovecraft vs Swifty
Ditto, Girafarig, Ambipom, Staraptor, Clefable, Porygon2 vs Alakazam, Galalde, Medicham, Metagross, Meowstic, Slowking

Plenty of back in forth. LC started off by reading Swifty pretty well. Got off to a solid start, but Prankster is just annoying and stopped Clefable from doing a lot of damage. Then some more things went in LC's favor and things were looking good. However, Swifty pulled off an incredible Red Card Counter gambit that instantly took out P2 without letting it even blink. This left LC at a sudden disadvantage. Eventually LC pulled it back to 3-2, but of those two Alakazam was left. LC has no real answer to Zam and ultimately fell to it.

Swifty wins and gets 4k+moves on
LC loses and gets 2k
I should get 4000 for reffing.

Lightning Dash v Prince Vultan

Dash: Mega Gallade, Blaziken, Electivire, Infernape, Lucario, Scrafty
Vultan: Crobat, Gliscor, Nidoqueen, Scolipede, [Gengar], [Roserade]

Vultan started the game by setting Toxic Spikes and shuffling Dash's team around to spread status.
Although Dash made some good predictions and KO's, he had trouble gaining offensive momentum; poison really began to hurt his team.
Once he was whittled down to two 'mons (with one at 4HP) he surrendered, as he felt he had no reliable way to win.
