All battles during this tournament will be 6v6. Below are the default rules for all battles.

Sootopolis City Gym Leader: Darkness Ruler vs Castelia City Gym Leader: Synthesis

DR: Rotom-Wash, Kingdra, Lanturn, Greninja, Golduck, Blastoise (Mega)
Synthesis: Galvantula, Parasect, Accelgor, Beedrill (Mega), Scizor, (Scolipede)

Rotom and Galvantula played around, with Galvantula setting up a Sticky Web before Parasect came in to do some of the hits to Rotom. Galvantula came back in to finish up, do some battle with Kingdra. Accelgor was forced in via Red Card to Encore Kingdra into Dragon Dance, before U-Turning to Galvantula again on the switch to Lanturn. Lanturn did its usual con, and caused Galvantula to smack twice, but it was able to live long enough to KO. Also managed to finish off Greninja while taking a bit of damage. Kingdra managed to finish off Galvantula with Outrage, but not before being hit more. Beedrill showed up to Mega Evo, and finish off Kingdra before going to Scizor who cleaned up.

Eterna Gym Leader Smores v Fuchsia Gym Leader Vultan
Abomasnow, Cradily, Exeggutor, Sceptile, Roserade, Whimsicott v Gengar, Nidoqueen, Roserade, Scolipede, Skuntank, Venomoth

Venomoth hazed Whimsi out, not before getting pared to bring Abomasnow in.
After that, the switch fest began, until eventually Smores killed Vultan's Nidoqueen.
From there Smores started to use Abomasnow and Whimsi to chip away at Vultan, until he managed to flip the tables.
In the end, one par roll broke Vultan.

Virbank City Poison-type Gym Leader WinterVines vs. Lavaridge Town Fire-type Gym Leader Ebail
Nidoking, Qwilfish, Crobat, (Mega)Gengar, Weezing, Tentacruel vs. Infernape, Blaziken, Chandelure, (Mega)Charizard(X), Volcarona, Talonflame

A nicely-done battle for both sides. Predictions were made, as usual, and ended up being the downfall of some Pokemon like Infernape who was caught off guard by an Earth Power expecting Stealth Rock, and Qwilfish who Thunder Waved Blaziken without accounting for Lum Berry. Both sides played excellently and aggressivley for the most part, but Winter managed to tie the score up 1-to-1. With just Mega Charizard-X and Tentacruel left, Ebail forfeited because he couldn't see a way to get around being stalled out by Toxic and Barrier. And so, the venomous Virbank ventures onward!

Cacturne, Greninja, Malamar, Liepard, Umbreon, Sharpedo vs. Hippowdon, Excadrill, (Garchomp), Gliscor, Gastrodon, Diggersby

Both sides played well, and Greninja looked like it would pull off a sweep, but in the end it was bested by Sand Rush Excadrill.

Bisharp pretty much OHKO'd everything after getting a Defiant boost due to Shuckle's Struggle Bug.

Elysia wins, and gets $4,000 + advances to Round Two.
Mace Windu loses, and gets $2,000 + eliminated.

I should get $4,000 for reffing.

Ash: Dragonite, Togekiss, Gliscor, Salamence, [Murkrow], [Aerodactyl]
Monbrey: Arcanine, (Mega)Charizard(X), Infernape, Rotom-Heat, Blaziken, Talonflame

The first half of this was played yesterday, in which the first three turns consisted of three rolls that were misses and a flinch. Ash also won three out of three speed ties. The first day ended when Ash fell asleep and the internet died. The second day there was fewer haxy rolls, except the last speed tie between Charizard and Mence that mattered. Ash got Stealth Rocks up and Monbrey had trouble touching Gliscor, so that pretty much decided it.
