Eighth Gym Tourney - Round Two

Okay, here is Round Two, and I'm very happy to say that once again I was able to work out some type-wise unbiased battles. For administration purposes, the following battlers go through on activity: Nitro; Ash K.; Zolar.

Gym Leader Tournament Battle

Leader Dinobot vs. Leader Siless
Politoed, [Gyarados], Kingdra, Sharpedo, Rotom-Wash, Floatzel vs. Gardevoir, Swoobat, Gallade, Alakazam, Metagross, Sableye

An incredible battle. Sableye was quickly dispatched by Politoed, but not before it was nearly completely wrecked. Some switching happened, then it got interesting. Kingdra set up some massive power, but Swoobat's Unaware caught Bee unawares, and some timely maneuvers prevented a complete sweep by Kingdra. Gallade finished up Kingdra (not before it had dealt damage to a lot of Siless's team, however) and scored a lucky Critical Hit with Leaf Blade, wiping out Floatzel. But the Gallade had another trick up it's sleeve, a scarf to be exact. It dealt a huge amount of damage to Sharpedo (who could've swept the rest of his team otherwise) before it fell to the shark. Gardevoir came in, Tracing Speed Boost and letting Sharpedo KO itself with recoil from Life Orb. Gardevoir looked on a roll to sweep, but Washtom happened. It Psych Up'd Gardevoir's massive boosts and haxxed it out just long enough to get a well-placed con smack to put it in range of Hydro Pump KOing. A great game to watch.

I came in pretty early, and some stuff happened.

Eterna City Gym Leader Airik (Cradily, Sceptile, Whimsicott, Rotom-Mow, Ferrothorn, Sawsbuck)

Early on the battle looked to be in Airik's favor, but Ataro's Normal-type trickery pulled through. Managed to stop Sawsbuck's Jump Kick jig and from there on Ataro dominated his grassy opponents.

Princess Crow ([Rotom-Wash], Raichu, [Magnezone, Electivire, Jolteon, Lanturn]) vs Gliscorman (Aerodactyl, Tyranitar, Gliscor, Cradily, Rhyperior, Omastar)

The battle started with the usual Tyranitar setting up Sandstorm while Raichu did its usually trickery around it all. GM quickly switched in Gliscor. However, Hannah got an Agility and resulting in Gliscor getting Encored into Substitute. This allowed for Hannah to get up a free Nasty Plot as GM sent in Rhyperior, who was unfortunately quickly dispatched with a single Grass Knot. GM managed to do some clever switching around to allow Cradily to be hit with Surf for the Storm Drain Boost, and along with a raise from Ancient Power seem to be in prime position to be a thorn in Hannah's ass. However, Raichu wasn't having any of it and used an amazing chain of Yawn, Wish, and Encore to force Cradily into Sleep Talk when it had awoken. This allowed Hannah to set up her Raichu to +4 Special Attack with full health and swept from there. Good fucking game!

Attention everyone - there will be a slight extension to this round. The cut-off point will now be exactly one week from this post. Any battles that have not been completed by this point will be decided by me based on activity / current battle status (if the battle has started but not finished).

 

How about this: Any battles not completed will have one of the participants fight me in place of their inactive opponent? ;D

It's not fair to punish someone who has been active. How about the person who didn't show up isn't allowed to challenge any Gyms until they defeat you first?

Was pretty close. PM got an early lead with Sceptile, but then there were some misses, and Chainy came out on top.
