Duel Peninsula! Finals: To Be Held in Toontown

Well it's the final episodes of the season where we find out if Smore's grandfather gets his soul back and Swifty gets enough money for his sister's operation, or if everyone gets thrown into the shadowrealm or whatever. In any case fun battles are among us! Rules are the same as they have been:

Payments are $500 extra for all parties

For our losers of the semifinals we have Ace Trainer Liam vs. @swiftgallade46 where the winner gets 3rd place and a Hard mon or lower and the loser gets 4th place and a Medium level mon or lower.

For our winners of the smifinals we have @Ash K. vs. @Elamite where the winner gets 1st place and a Demanding mon or lower and the loser gets 2nd place with a Complex mon or lower.

You guys have until next Sunday, April 26th at 11:59:59PM Central Time, so let's see some awesome, toon inspired, ancient Egyptian magic!

Ash K.: Blaziken, Espeon, Gliscor, Mega Mawile, [Starmie], [Talonflame]
Elamite: Jolteon, Gliscor, Mega Lopunny, Whimsicott, Greninja, Salamence

Ash started the battle off with Mawile and unexpectedly did a massive number on Smores' team before Mawile was KO'd.

The usual switching ensued, with Ash trying to rid his side of the field of rocks and Smores attempting to gain back lost ground.

When Jolteon's Roar brought in Blaziken, Ash pulled off a successful sweep for a win in the battle and first place in the Duel Peninsula Tournament.

Good job to Ash and Smores, as well as to everyone else who participated in Duel Peninsula!!

swiftgallade46 (Blaziken, Alakazam, Crobat, Jolteon, Greninja, Sableye) vs. Ace Trainer Liam (Arcanine, Scizor, Sceptile, Whimsicott, Greninja, Scrafty)

Fun battle! Dice were kinda wonky but lots of smart plays on both teams. Liam's Whimsicott did work, then Swift's Crobat and Sableye did work, and Arcanine brought up the rear and fought valiantly but Swift's remaining team was too strong, earning him the victory! Congrats on placing in the tournament, guys! Good game!

Swift wins, nabs 3rd place, and gets $3500

Aaaand with that we're done! Smoke clears around a desolate field; battle scarred with scorch marks, tinged with Pokeblood, the smell of burnt fur and electrified skin lingers in the air. An ace trainer lay thrown out to dry in sun that peaks out from the thin fog; a swifty gym leader, hand still clutching a Pokeball, buckled over on the verge of crossing over to his unconscious; a hardy rock gym leader ironically piled in rubble; all under the shining glory of a champion in his prime, a flying gym leader soaring above the rest. @Ash K., eyes sullen with the melancholy of battle, takes a sweet, cool breath of relief. He steps onto a boat, his 300+ star chips in exchange. Leaving the peninsula for future endeavors, future battles, tournaments, and rivals. He seeks the day to have more Pokemon battles enriched with the intensity and charisma as these past few weeks have. Sea wind caressing his skin, the boat takes off with a soft whir to break the silence. @Elamite remains under the rubble in a bitter, but close second. @swiftgallade46 grips his Pokeball in lip-biting hindsight. And poor Ace Trainer Liam, coming so far with so many unexpected wins to be quashed so suddenly in valiant effort, lays unconscious in a bush he may or may not have chosen to fall unto. Spectators watch as Ash leaves forever; not even turning back for a final goodbye, but parts so unceremoniously that it leaves a small hole in the pits of all their stomachs. The boat fades into the fog. The whir of the engine follows suite; replacing it is the still silence and grows uncomfortable over time, but never unbearable. People slowly start to leave the battle field; goodbyes thought, but never said. Sun setting, fog thickening, and moral dropping set ends the scene only to come alive again someday when a new tournament starts and the battle to be first rages again. Until then, the people of the Duel Peninsula remain, training their Pokemon for the next big battle for freedom.

Thank you to all who participated in this tournament! You all did awesome in my book; not too many problems, if any really at all, i.e. it was smooth, timely, and fun! From those of you who started early and got kicked, to those until the very end, y'all rock! But now it's time to end this tourny and do another one! (I don't really know if there's anything planned, but I assume there will be something sometime)! So:
