Benji stood at the edge of the field, his arms crossed against his chest and his gaze leveled toward the trainer opposing him. He was a timid boy, to be sure, but he took fights like this seriously! After all, his best friend's honor (and physical being) was at stake, and he couldn't take that lightly.

The aforementioned best friend hopped up beside him, already free from his ball. The Whismur bounced and spun, showing far more exuberance than most critters of its species dared. With a nod from his trainer, Jukes leapt forward into the ring of flattened grass, his floppy ears bouncing and tiny black bowtie twirling.

"Awe, jeet," Benji muttered, taken aback by the sight of the Scyther. Jukes showed no signs of fear, though; he was one tough little Whismur, and he was gonna show it! He puffed out his chest (which just so happened to also be most of his face) and strutted forward, awaiting the first command.

"Jukes, give us a chance in this fight. Use (Supersonic)!

"That's it, Jukes!" Benji glanced at the Scyther, trying to gauge its power. He was sure that his Whismur couldn't take one hit from the huge bug-type. The Pokemon seemed unconcerned, though; he just hopped around and hummed quietly to himself.

"Okay...try and whittle it down this time with a (Hyper Voice)!
