[Looks good to me. I'll grab a ref when you reply, and when we're both on at the same time. Now, then...]

In sharp contrast to the now-occupied space on Seth's side of the battlefield, the challenger's square facing him was empty, perhaps because the trainer he had hoped to face was still busy making preparations for the battle ahead. All was silent for nearly a minute as Wurmple and trainer eagerly awaited their opponent's entrance.

And what an entrance they were treated to: the square was suddenly illuminated with a brilliant white light snaking its way along the ground. It twisted in on itself, forming a circle, before collapsing inward and revealing runes in a language long forgotten by history. The runes seemed to shimmer with an ethereal glow as they revolved around the smaller circle in the center. They then stopped abruptly, the glow escaping into the breeze, as the symbol began to float off of the ground. As it continued its ascent, another light poured out from beneath it, and took on a humanoid shape. When the shape was fully formed (though still lacking any noticeable features), the symbol dissipated, sending wispy tendrils of light floating away towards the Sun.

The glow surrounding the figure then faded, revealing the features of a middle-aged gentleman from the bottom up. He wore polished brown dress shoes that jutted out from beneath neatly seamed, jet-black dress pants, cut long in the legs to compliment his towering figure. A frilled white button-up was tucked in at the waist, where a belt held it in place; the buckle of the belt looked to be a letter similar to the runes inside of the symbol, trimmed with genuine gold plating. A tuxedo coat of the same color as the pants buttoned over the top of the dress shirt, the sleeves running the length of his arms. The gentleman adjusted his small black bow-tie at the collar of the shirt, allowing his buttoned cuffs to show; a watch of immeasurable value rested on his left wrist, ticking softly. His hands then moved above his pointed chin and groomed mustache, resting on the brim of his black top-hat and adjusting its angle by a few degrees. The graying hair that had been showing beneath the hat was swept underneath it in one smooth motion. As his hands came down to his waist, he opened his eyes, revealing deep blue irises that caught the gleam of the Sun. He smirked, revealing a flawless set of teeth.

"So...you must be the opponent I've been told about?" he asked, the flamboyance of his outfit not being abandoned in his deep-throated voice. "Allow me to introduce myself." He gave a shallow, respectful bow. "I am known as The Overseer. The pleasure's all mine." As he returned to a standing position, he waved a hand out in front of him, revealing a light similar to the one that he had used to enter the battlefield.

"Now, then," he pondered, staring into the light with interest, "let us see what my subjects have given me to work with." He continued to stare for several seconds before he frowned; he waved his hand again, and the light disappeared. "It seems that Reynold has not been keeping up with his captures lately...that will have to change soon." He raised his left hand, and a Poke Ball materialized from nowhere.

"But no matter!" he exclaimed. "I have plenty enough to work with here. Miranda, let's give our opponent quite a show!" He threw the Ball with the fluent motion of a former pitcher, despite hardly being dressed for that matter. The Ball popped open in midair, releasing a Caterpie onto the battlefield. She eyed the Wurmple across from her with eagerness; obviously, she was ready for a fight.

"Now, since you've established this little duel for us, I believe I will do the honors, and make the first move. Miranda, let us open up the act with a Bug Bite, if you please."

    You out did me :)

Seth clapped as the older trainer stood before him. What an entrance, he had never witnessed anything so exciting in his fifteen years of life. That was about to change though as the two trainers were about to pit their pokemon against one another.

" Thanks for the show! " Seth shouted across the feild, " Time to show you how this is done. Insecticon! Use TACKLE"

Insecticon raised it's tiny head, gazing towards the female Caterpie. Oddly attracted to the pokemon that was outside of his species. An order was an order though, he'd have to hurt the delicate thing

The Overseer smiled, obviously pleased with Miranda's handiwork.

"A clean hit!" he exclaimed. "Excellent work, Miranda!" Miranda turned and smiled, giving him a gurgle of approval.

"I see no sense in changing the set around now. Let us use another Bug Bite, Miranda."

" Insecticon!" bellowed Seth. " Snap out of it! Try a poison sting!"

The Wurmple shook it's head, the caterpie was distracting. He had to get over this though. When did love ever when over a fight?

As Miranda took her place in front of The Overseer again, she couldn't help but notice that the Wurmple across from her was having some trouble with its attacks. Puzzled, she turned back to her trainer as if to ask what the matter was.

It appears our opponent is having some difficulty controlling his emotions, The Overseer thought, having made the observation, as well. It's really too bad - were Miranda not called upon already, they may have made a decent couple. That's a plot twist I'd rather not be a part of, though.

"Pay him no heed, Miranda," he said gravely. "His loss of control has only left him vulnerable. Perchance, another Bug Bite will snap him out of it?"

Normally, Miranda didn't enjoy fighting an opponent that didn't fight back, but the order had been issued. There was no going back now, lest she dare going against what fate had willed. She knew where that road would lead, so she decided against it, and poised herself for another attack.

" Insecticon! What are you doing out there? " Called out Seth to his worn out Wurmple. " Take her down and ill give you a nice juicy apple." Insecticon smiled gleefully, boy did he love apples. " Take that Worm out with a BUG BITE. Make it count!"

The Overseer smiled as the two bugs performed their attacks. He was glad to see that Miranda's opponent had finally come to his senses, even if it was only for the potential reward that his trainer had promised at the end.

"It looks to be close to the final curtain call, Miranda," he said as she took her place on his side of the field again. "Soften your opponent up with a Tackle, and we'll move accordingly from there."

"You have fought well, my friend," The Overseer said, his voice echoing across the battlefield, "but it appears that we shall be the victors this time! Miranda, let us wrap this up with one final Bug Bite."
