Hi hi! Weedle is a simple mon, and beedrill is all bizzzness (get it.. HAHA). Anyway onto your curation.

    First impressions:

This is definitely unexpected for a weedle drawing. Most of them are like bug in a tree something something rather boring. This one is more of a design about its evolutions and eventual mega evolution, similar to Leonardo's famous investigation about the anatomy of a human in his seminal Vitruvian Man. I missed out seeing that when I went to Venice. ANYWAY your mega evolution bubble isn't an actual sphere like how it is in the game which is really distracting. Lopsided spheres bother me on objects that are naturally perfectly geometrical, less so on more organic things like your beedrills or rocks or fruit. Nevertheless, your drawing took a lot of time and effort to do, and it shows.

    Pokemon Likeness:

Pretty much nailed it. I am going to point out that there are some lopsided needles, Mega Beedrill, in particular, but considering that you're going for a simple ranked weedle, that is fine since you have drawn four pokemon, each with increasing complexity. They are all symmetrical and you placed them in a rather symmetrical position, which while highlights their beauty also highlights their flaws, as they are not drawn perfectly symmetrically. I'm less concerned about that because the level detail that level of perfection needed is far outdone by the overall finesse of your pokemon drawings. You clearly looked at several references and stayed as close to the official art as possible.

    Technique:

My eye is immediately drawn to the level shading on the mega beedrill. I'm glad you're taking the time to play around with the differing pressures to create very smooth colored pencils. I know I've gotten on to you before about your works being too consistently textured, but this definitely breaks the mold. There is a clear top-down light source highlighting their smooth chitinous surfaces on Kakuna, Beedrill, and its mega.

I am, however, a little upset at the prominent outlines, and I think this hindered your ability to get all the detail you wanted in your little weedle nearer towards the bottom. He gets a lost amidst the detail of his evolutions.

I am little bothered by the lack of background but that is mitigated by the mega evolution energy bubble. I like that you have shaded in so many colors, but unfortunately, it is flattened due to it being behind the bees and there is a very prominent outline. I like that it wasn't black, but outlines are still the same. I think if you carried over that idea in the bees, you would be surprised to see how much it frees the forms. Honestly, in Vitruvian Man, there is no background as well, but it was so because it was a geometric study of the human form. If this were a celebration of the weedle family, then I really would have like to have seen the bubble be more geometric. If you have no compass, you can get one at any office supply store for less than a dollar, or trace around a can or jar, depending on how large your surface is!

I definitely want to push you more in this direction on how you handled shading. It probably is much tougher but the rewards will be also better. I really don't like the outlines as it does compete with all of the delicate shading you put in with your bees. I would definitely consider light pencil for outlines, or at least have them the same color as your subject. Outlines are nice training wheels, but I would like to challenge you to make some art that don't use them! It will be very difficult at first but when you keep at it, you'll start to see your dependence lessen.

    Conclusion:
For now what you have is an interesting celebration of the weedle line and have definitely experimented with shading! I think it payed off well! Weedle is a simple mon, and this borders on medium, but the general lopsidedness holds it back. 40/35 Weedle caught!

Thanks for the grade man! I defs agree that I couldve made it more geometric, yeah. Admittedly I kind of winged it since I was more excited to draw than to worry about everything being perfectly symmetric (and the Mega bubble I just freehanded hehe). Glad you appreciated it not being the usual bug-in-a-tree submission. Claiming my Weedle!
