    @Oshawott2003

    For Lotad

    Form/Detail
    I'm gonna talk about balance here, because it is something that this image could benefit from. The pokemon is nicely centered though a bit crushed, and that all the eye really has to go off. The eyes and mouth, along with the large lilypad, allow the eyes to focus on these relevant sections but then there’s nothing else for the eye to look at. The one heavy element is placed off center, giving the lower section of the image no reason to exist, technically. Cleanliness of line ( though I know, hard to draw on a phone tablet) is also something to look at. Different thicknesses can add definition and contrast, but they have to be specific and fluid.

    Something you might want to consider - if you uploaded the image to the computer first, if not I couldn't tell you the ease of doing this - is cropping out the tools and ad banners at the edges of the image. I won’t take off points for this as its a first time submission, but as far as presentation goes it does detract from the overall image.

    Color, Texture, and Shading
    Contrast is definitely the high point of this image. The green, yellow, and white create focused areas in which the eye can gravitate toward, and since these are all on your pokemon, the attention is focused on it, the main point of the image. Beyond that, the rest of the pokemon tends to blend in with the rest of the image, and offers little for contrast or detail. SHading could be used to further define the shapes of the pokemon here, showing the round bits as being round instead of flat. Textures are also absent.

    Pokemon Anatomy
    The pokemon is recognizable here, thats always the first main point. It seems that due to space limitations and angle, the eyes are close together which also shortens up the bill/mustache, which makes him seem somewhat disproportionate. The best feature though has to be the lilypad, I like the varying shades of green to outline and highlight it instead of the traditional black outline, it gives a smoother, living appearance that seems quite fitting to the object. it also has a fair amount of detail, which is always important on a simple pokemon like this.

    Environment/Perspective
    Theres not much of an environment here. What we do have is blue which could signify water and the sky, and these fit well with lotad. What could have made these better is details, like waves, maybe some water plants, clouds to signify the break from sea to sky, things to make the scene a bit more busy and defined. As mentioned in the pokemon’s section, the perspective on the pokemon, and thus on the scene as a whole, seems imperfect to best show off the pokemon, he seems cramped. Though I do understand this is partially due to the drawing medium.

    Creativity/Effort
    Its a good first attempt, and I can see that some effort went into drawing this as Ive tried phone art before.

    Improvements
    Shading, textures, cleanliness of line, perspective and detailing the environment, theres a number of things you could do to improve or modify the image. I know it sounds like its all negative, but keep positive and keep submitting art and improving on your skills and I know you can catch pokemon via our section.

    Score
    20/100

    Sorry, but Lotad is not caught.

    Thanks @Axion; I'll remember all your tips and pour them into my art. I'll see if I can fix it up and I'll tag you if I do. Thanks again!
