Bees are apparently a meme here and I'm not sure why. Anyway Cutiefly is one of the new Alolan Bugs that also happens to have dragon slaying powers because it is also a fairy. Cutiefly is a simple rank mon so only 35 points is needed to capture it!.

    First impression:

You have an adorable scene here with the Cutiefly drinking some dew on a blade of grass or a leaf of some unspecified plant. It's expression clearly shows that it is enjoying every minute of it as you have showing the little tears under it eyes. Cutiefly is one of those pokemon that can't really give much expression but you seemed to have captured it! Well done!

    Pokemon likeness:

Your Cutiefly appears to be proportionate at first glance and after comparing it with the official artwork, I do think maybe its spherical feet are a tad big, its eyes could be a tad darker, and its body could be a tad longer, but for the most part, you nailed it!

    Technique:

I see that you're working in colored pencils. I like that you have a consistent texture, everything is colored evenly for the most part which tells me you spent a lot of time on it. It would be interesting to see if you could play around with the texture of the colored pencil a bit more, as one can wary the pressure of the pencil to make different kind of marks, but otherwise the consistency of the drawing works. Really the biggest downside to this drawing style is that when you are drawing this thickly, you can't do quite as much detail because it becomes difficult to manipulate, and/or erase.

The outlines are fine for now but they really do flatten your fairy bug's feet. There is a light shading, nothing to extreme. On Cutiefly's body, there is a form emerging, as you have indicated that the top is facing the light source (I'm guessing the sun) and its underside. The the three-dimensional reading is a bit difficult with the super-thick outlines around your subject. Your plant is a little flat, but it is clearly recognizable. The shading on the water bubble is a little odd, but it could be reflecting the light of the sky above.

Your sky is drawn really darkly, and is pretty plain. It works at least here, but in higher ranks, putting simple things like clouds or simple silhouettes of birds flying off in the background will give your drawing not only little bits of extra life, but also helps break up large areas of empty space. Right now, since Cutiefly is taking up almost half of the paper, I think you are narrowly pulling it off. I do recommend, however, to be conscious of not leaving too much empty space.

    Conclusion:

I think you have made a fun little drawing. I do think the heavy outlines hindered you and I definitely recommend playing with how heavy you make marks on the paper! I do also want to warn you about huge, empty spaces as they can sometimes detract from the scene. For now you chose a tight scene, so the empty space helps your drawing. For now, Cutiefly is captured! 35/35!
