    Helioptile

    Form/Detail
We have an interesting piece here, the first I've seen that uses sound and motion. I like it! Motion is inherently blocky due to the media type, but it doesn’t detract from the emotions conveyed via the simple 3 second animation. The viewer empathizes with Helioptile, as it seems embarrassed or scared, two emotions everyone has felt before and can easily recognize/understand. As far as details go Ill give credit later in other sections for this, but the pokemon’s dirty ears allow interaction and are by far one of the best details I've seen for a while.

    Color and Shading
Very natural, earthy, and base colors allow Helioptile to stand out very well. The yellow is an obvious contrast to a darker environment. The shading does seem somewhat artificial, was this done inside as opposed to outside? The lighting just seems whiter than I would have expected from natural sunlight, especially where the reflections on the clay are.

    Texture
Hm… real dirt AND a rock. So as far as the environment textures I really can’t complain here. Since I have never been able to figure out what Helioptile’s skin feels like. But as an electric type that lives in the desert I could definitely see it being the semi-rubbery/shiny surface you have from the clay, so nothing detracting there.

    Pokemon Anatomy
First off, its quite apparent that it is a Helioptile, so check. Color is also accurate to the pokemon, so we’re good there. As far as the body, the lack of perspective on it doesn’t offer much for me to curate. The legs are about all we see. it does seem like you set Helioptile to be in its four-legged pose instead of the standing/upright pose which I could see it being in, due to the relative size of the rock. it would almost appear to be peeking above/around the boulder, so watch stuff like that if you continue doing art like this. Also smoothing out the lines and forms, since clay is usually infinitely workable theres always a way to make it look just a little better. But good job on the form overall.

    Environment/Perspective
The environment is interesting as i\this is also one of the few live scene’s I've seen as well. So instead of the realism, I'm going to point out the one downside about what you used, and thats how the scale seems off. The way to tell that it is off would be by the dirt particles around helioptile, it makes it around Joltik/Dedenne sized as opposed to its canon size. But I can see with this medium how a smaller scale works to your advantage. Something else that is good is how the dirt is on the ears, it connects the pokemon to the environment instead of just placing it there, its a nonstandard form of interaction which adds realism and feasibility to your image in the best way possible.

    Creativity/Effort
This is the first youtube/animation submission I have yet seen. Its short and sweet, but its also fairly unique as a submission which I think should get it a bonus point or two. Plus I know how hard stop motion can be, and its fluid enough to understand the main points and see the action.

    Improvements
obviously working with things to make the scale seem more realistic, more fluid motion if possible, and just smoothing things out all around. But I did really like this piece for its simplicity and it being the first of its kind to my knowledge.

    Score
    45/100

For being unique and adventurous you get the helioptile. This was harder to judge, but if we get more Im sure mosre standards will be put in place. Continue with this and get better, make it flawless!
