Hi gray! I see you're back. The URPG art section is fun and all and so are caterpies. Little buggers are everywhere. So let's see if you catch one. I am assuming that this is a serious attempt.

I see that you are beginning in urpg art. I think one of the best things to do is start with the easiest mons, like a caterpie. Now you have the most basic idea of what a caterpie is: a green bug with yellow appendages. It is sectioned off in circles and is clearly connected like a worm. You've also given me a symbolic representation of his head, eyes, a little glint of light his eyes, and a red line denoting his antennae. Now when drawing are we drawing a stick figure or are we drawing a live model? And that usually is a measure of how people judge how 'well' someone draws. This is misleading because if you're trying to draw tens of subjects at once you might need to simplify. The stick figure is what's called a symbol and not the actual thing what you're drawing. You're going off the idea that a bunch of green circles with little yellow ones and a red line for an antennae is a suitable symbol for a caterpie-like bug.

Unfortunately, if you look at a 'real' one (after all Caterpie is a fictional character) you will see that his body is composed of 2 green circles and four little scaly segments in his tail. On the underside of his belly is a yellowish-tan plain spot. What you've given me is just an idea of the circlular-segments on his body, and no real information to draw from! Even if you just have an outline, I think you used the fill button in MS Paint. You'll be quickly surprised how abstract lines turn into something tangible.

Also, when going about a drawing, it is always useful to look at images of your subject, as these images of a caterpie will give you clues on how to draw your little bug or whatever subject you are drawing. When using no reference, once is challenged to come up with any reasonable detail. Working from memory of what "you know" your subject "should" look like often isn't how "it is." I'm not telling you to copy, by all means, and in fact if you trace a drawing then we can't even grade your work as it is plagiarism. But I am telling you to work from a reference because they really will be a useful road map on making a successful drawing.

For now, what you have given me doesn't meet standards for an easiest rank pokemon. I don't want to discourage you from contributing but do try something with a reference.
