    Pokemon Attempted: Riolu
    Difficulty: Complex (65+)

I made three pieces, shown in two photos:

It's worth noting that the Mega Lucario model is actually about an inch or two taller than regular Lucario, but given the story of the photo I'm kinda glad the perspectives make it look otherwise.

Will add an Imgur gallery containing more shots of them all later.

    @Monbrey

Imma focus on the one image with all three here, but Ill point out stuff I like on the other as well. Curation #100 , go!

    Family Training

    Form/Detail
Attention to detail as far as the pokemon go is incredible. You really outdid yourself on these Monbrey.

You’ve managed to tell a story through two independent yet connected images, both which convey imminent action and suspense as to their outcome. it leaves the viewers anticipating in a good way. The balance comes from the pokemon being fairly central, and taking up the greater majority of the image. Through the concept pf line we get the fists of tjhe pokemon pointing at each other, bouncing the attention back and forth and keeping the attention centered on the action. White space is a bit overused primarily due to the background wall, but thats covered more in environment.

    Color, Texture, and Shading
While you’ve created great characters with life, emotion, and action, the color contrast comes from a near white background! Perhaps printing off some environment would have offered a simple yet welcoming color contrast and way to set the blues apart from the whites better. I can’t fault you on shading. I really can’t its actual shading instead of drawn on. And while the textures aren’t immediately striking there are still hints of them, making it a subtle yet effective texture. (I also know there’s texture because I colored mom!)

    Pokemon Anatomy
The pokemon’s anatomy is spot on. Immediately noticeable, recognizable, and each having their own emotions shown in both stance and facial expressions. Riolu has the determined yet prepared face in the first, and the enduring position in the second. The mega dad seems both concerned and proud, sparring and pushing his son to the limit. Mother’s concerns are also apparent, the position pushing the dad back giving an altogether clear message.

Despite Lucario never being pink, I liked the decision to make momm different and stand her out against the other two. it gives a sharp contrast of both color and ideals, making the message much more apparent and meaningful. The only thing I could ever say about the pokemon would be their facetization, but the art style kinda requires it. And since I've known a good number of great images that used that style, no points lost.

    Environment/Perspective
I think environment is the only thing I could easily find to judge harshly here. I do like the green carpet, it gives the appearance of the training ground/grass field/indoor stadium. Even the walls, while a bit barren, could fit that a bit. The one thing that does somewhat destroy the immersion in the image is the white space behind them. and DEFINITELY that blue wire. It serves as a major point, both attracting the eye via color contrast and drawing a line straight off the image. And while its in only a fraction of the image, that it is so close to a major component of the story hurts it in both images.

Perspective the first image is good. I was thinking of a more dramatic perspective could have made the second one more impactful. If the camera had been slightly behind mega lucario’s shoulders, looking straight at the mom with her chest held out and having Riolu more in the background, the viewers might have felt more included in the image, it would have felt as if we were being stopped rather than the more straight on pose we have now.

    Creativity/Effort
Creativity points go for creating a cohesive story with limited poses to work with. Both images have their own feelings using the same pokemon for both, though you told two different stories in a way.

Effort? Um… Yeah… effort points awarded. have a few handfuls of them.

    Improvements
If anything? Making a more convincing environment would have sold this image off and made the complete package deal. Even without this the effort involved was amazing and I love the finished product.

    Score
    75/100

You made three of these things for one capture, and they were all really good! So I can’t really convince myself of any reason not to give you at least a Riolu for this.
