I'm not an artist...so I wholeheartedly apologize ahead of time for what you are about to see.

I just want a Burmy. The little bugger is just so darn cute (and it evolves into a Pokemon that resembles a Godzilla monster. Soooo yeah. I want it)

Hi! Wow! You made your first drawing for pokemon URPG! I see that you want a Burmy to go into your Godzilla-themed collection, its evo, Mothim, is a good choice. Burmy is a simplest rank mon, so let’s see if you can add it to your collection!

    Pokemon Likeness

This is where you excel. I see that you have taken the time to learn Burmy’s form. You drew Burmy four times: one quickly, hastily drawn sketch, two more well-considered studies, and one outline drawing with coloring. I’m glad you didn’t keep with the hastily drawn one, and instead improved upon its design three times over. The first time your redrew, you took his egg-shape rather literally and came out a little thin and on the second pencil study you have more accurately matched his width. The colored in one clearly resembles the cute little bugger and has a few nice touches such as its short, cute mouth-beak thing. Nailed it.

    Technique

I sense that you are a beginner at art, but you also have some talent and you took great care in deciding which colors with your marker swatches below the bug. With markers it is tough to get smooth transitions and I can clearly see where you have drawn over the ink. That’s fine for this level. I would recommend perhaps layering the ink to simulate shading for future marker work. But I do like the fact that you at least attempted shading with a clear light source on the spiral thing above the head. I would’ve loved to see the shading in the body section, but that isn’t needed at this rank.

    Presentation

Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, and for at least at this rank this doesn’t detract from your score, but for higher ranks it will. In the future I recommend you either take a picture of your work in better lighting and touch it up in photoshop (e.g. cropping, rotating, adjusting light levels, etc) before presenting, or better yet, scan it! It will help everyone including yourself enjoy your work more! Your signature was enough proof that you did it! :)

    Background:

There is none, but the fact that you took the time to learn how to do draw a pokemon and understand their underlying forms is all that’s needed for this rank. It would be sooo awesome to see him hanging from a tree or something creative like hiding in a trash can like that Sesame Street character!

    Conclusion:

I really think you have potential in art and you are learning! I can already tell from your casual sketch to your super tight studies that you’re learning! I want to see what you can do! So, in conclusion, consider adding your Burmy to your Godzilla collection! (25/25) :D
