    Title: Cheworm
    Category: Pixel Art
    Pokemon: Sewaddle
    Difficulty: Easiest (≥ 25)

I wanted to start out with something simple, mainly for a "trial run," per se. I could have done a lot better, and I will with my next one. At least then hopefully I'll have the time...
Hoping for the best, I suppose

Is it just me, or is the image link broken? I can't see the sprite, so I can't curate it D:

Huh, that's strange! It could be your browser / computer, but I'll reupload it nonetheless and see if that helps. :>

Okay, pimg is being a buttmunch, it seems. D:<
    I'll use something else.

ARGH WHY DO IMAGE HOSTING SITES HAVE TO BE SO COMPLICATED NOWADAYS. One moment. D:

    THE GRADE

    Overall Appearance
My first impression of this was, “I want that Sewaddle, now.” And look, it is pixel art too! How is this not adorable? My love for the cute wormy aside, I must say that this looks good enough to be a cut-scene from a Pokémon game (Which I would totally get even if it was only cut-scenes of Sewaddles, lol). It would have looked much more convincing if the background wasn’t a plain stretch of dark green, though. Still, this is a neat work of art, and you clearly have talent for spriting. I have seen some of your older sprites, and I have noticed the way your style has evolved: here your pixels are more neatly arranged and thus create a nicer appearance.

    Execution
Using MS Paint I took a closer look at your work. In doing so, I discovered how intricate this piece actually is (I also found your signature, yay. I didn’t notice the ‘SW’ at first, haha.) Was this a pixel over? I don’t think it is (aside from the Sewaddle, but I feel like you’ve done that from scratch too). The fact that it seems like you’ve done this from scratch is remarkable. To be able to sprite like what you have done here is evidence of your talent: spriters should have a lot of foresight since they’re creating (most of the time at least) a bigger picture with very small components. The way you arranged the darker streaks of brown on the tree trunk creates a nice bark effect. The real gem of this picture has got to be the leaves, though; they’ve just been done so well!

    Shading and Color Choice
Your light source seems to come from the upper left hand corner. Assuming that’s correct your shading is spot on for all the components, most notably the leaves. However, I feel like the shading on Sewaddle’s head is a tad bit overdone, I think you could have achieved the same effect by using one less color. That’s just nitpicking, though, and I’m guessing doing that would have affected the other shades of yellow. As for color choice, Sewaddle’s been colored as official artwork portrays it so you’re fine in that area; the greens of the leaves are nice and vibrant and the browns are decent too. The background you could have done much more, but the dark green does a nice job of making a pseudo-outline for the leaves, which adds dimension to them.

    Suggestions and Advice
Again, this is a great piece overall, the only thing that hurts it is the lack of a more detailed background. But since this is for a Sewaddle, which is an Easiest-level Pokémon no less, that doesn’t put a dent in your score, and the effort you’ve put in spriting this more than makes up for it. This is also, as you've said, your trial run and I know you can do better. Oh and one thing: normally, I would advice artists to avoid spriting for PokéArt, but in this case I’ll do the opposite. You clearly have talent for pixel art, Speed-X, and it is my pleasure to tell you that this is a wonderful piece. I must tell you this though: if you’re aiming for Pokémon of higher rank with pixel art, Curators will be expecting much more than this, and after seeing this piece I know you can bring it. For the mean time though, I’ll have to give "Cheworm" a score of…

    THE SCORE
    40/100

That’s over 25 so that means... Sewaddle captured! Have fun with that cute little bugger. OwO
